Knife> And simpler noeli is the # 'ertvendun, #% - oii adjusting pins f with handles made by flattening, which can be secured because of the flattening. that they are in a threaded hole of the fork part:
b the leg a, # screwed in. as can be seen in particular in Fig. 2. These pins are inserted through the corresponding holes in the jaws7, and fit as tightly as possible into them.
If the jaws are in the position- for. 3 in the direction of FIG. If the arrows shown in the drawing are turned over, they turn their stolen flat surfaces c towards one another. The pliers can now be used as flat-nose pliers.
Here it is not absolutely necessary that the jaws are fixed by the pins f; but this can be done by inserting the pins through the holes g. If the jaws are nirlit fe, t-, then they adapt to the surface of the structure grasped with the pliers zii.
Finally, the pliers can be used as a pipe wrench if one jaw remains in the setting according to FIG. 1, while the other jaw is in the setting, according to FIG. 3 is brought so that it faces its linlilf, gripping surface k of the flat surface i of the first-mentioned jaw.
In the case of the pliers according to FIGS. 5 to 1, the two legs a run into round pegs at their front end. e, onto which the jaws c are rotatably fitted and secured against sliding off by caulking or otherwise.
Serves to secure the jaws in the Jewei term Gebrauelislage. one in each case a wedge or pin that can be displaced in a hole or a groove of the jaw) z, dei% as in FIG. 7.
7 and 10 can be seen in a cross hole ui. of the pin, for example due to the) effect of a spring, not shown for the sake of simplicity, or (contrary to the spring effect) can be done by hand in such a way that the jaw is turned on the pin e in 1.80 can be and in this position Ti-g. 7) the wedge fi,
can engage in the bore from the other side.
Turning only one jaw again results in a Rolirzan-e (F'i-. 8).
If the entire pliers are made of steel, the legs a can also be made of felt, as in the example of glue. 7 to 10, are provided with cutting edges o so that the pliers can be used as tin snips (FIG. 9).
One of the legs can be clamped in a vice, while the other can be extended with a push-on bar. The cutting edges could of course also be used in a special way.
It's easy to see. class the pliers shown instead of three special pliers otherwise required and the pliers according to Fi. 5 to 10 can also take the place of tin snips.
Not just generating a savings in @ 'shows sliding progress that has been made by the new invention, but it is. A special advantage was to be seen in the fact that in the new pliers, older material (U tool steel) can be used for the jaw parts, while the pliers handles can be made of less expensive, cheaper material.
This means a considerable saving in material costs and makes it difficult to manufacture pliers that are far superior in quality to the pliers currently on the market. precisely because the jaw parts are made from specially made aus- olesucliteTn and Vorteililia, ftem steel and can be finished independently of the actual pliers body.
It is of course easily possible to attach special devices to the new pliers. as they are known from other pliers. For example, to attach wire cutters or to provide horns on the cheeks, which also allow the use of the pliers as l @ uiidzan-; e. ETC.
The shape of the jaws of the pliers can be adapted to the particular application. For example, be shaped so that the pliers can be used as sheet metal bending pliers. The flat-nosed jaws do not necessarily have to touch each other when the pliers are closed.
