Telegraphischer Sender.
Telegraphic transmitter. In the case of telegraphic transmitters, either the telegraphic characters are sent directly via the line by pressing a button, or a punched tape is first produced, which in turn causes the characters to be sent in the actual transmitter. In order to save the punched tape, it is preferred to use those transmitters on lines whose full utilization is out of the question due to less traffic, in which the telegraphic characters are put directly into the line by the hand of the telegraph operator. In such devices, however, there is the disadvantage that the telegraph operator has to adapt to the transmitter device in such a way that he never exceeds a certain maximum speed or has to keep a certain rhythm when working.
This prevents the telegraphist from fully developing his manual dexterity, as well as preventing the maximum utilization of the line as soon as the telegraphist sends the signals at times slower than the prescribed cycle.
According to the invention, this inconvenience is avoided in that a device is connected to the actual character transmitter in which the characters given by the telegraphist are stored one after the other and then sent evenly via the transmitter to the line. So while the telegraph operator can exercise his "signaling" in an irregular time sequence, the sending of these stored symbols is carried out in a regular sequence, adapted to the performance of the line.
The telegraph operator only needs to adapt himself to the average speed of the actual sender when giving out signals. The characters given on the keypad are stored with the help of clusters, which are initially loaded in groups and later unloaded via the actual transmitter.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the object of the invention is shown schematically in FIG. 1; Fig. 2 shows a detail. The new transmitter device consists essentially of three parts, a keyboard A, a Aufspeicherungsvorrich device b 'and a transmitter C. The Aufspei chervorrichtung and the transmitter are shown in Fig. I with respect to the shafts connected to them rotated by 90 to the entire To show the device in a schematic figure. All Schleifkon contacts for supplying the electrical current to movable parts are omitted in this figure for the sake of simplicity. These parts can be seen from Fig. 2, which shows a side view of the Aufspeichervorrich device and the transmitter.
For the sake of clarity, only three different characters have to be transmitted. It takes place by means of the two pushbuttons 1 and 2, of which one or the other or both can be pressed down at the same time to send the three characters. The Aufspeiche approximately device B accordingly consists of only two resting Kontaktrin conditions 3 and 4, each with two brushes 5 and 6 respectively. 7 and 8 provided contact arms 9 and 10 move. The brushes 5, 6 and 7, b are ver via slip rings 80 with the associated parts of the circuit connected.
The contact arm 10 can be set in rotation by an electromagnet 11 by means of a ratchet 12 and a ratchet wheel 13, while the contact arm 9 is connected to a shaft 14 which is driven by a motor 19 through a gear drive 15, 16 and a clutch 17, 18 becomes. This motor also moves the contact arm 22 of the transmitter C, which is provided with brushes 20, 21. The brushes 20, 21 of this transmitter are switched on via slip rings 81 in the overall arrangement and slide on two contact rings. of which one has two contact pieces 23, 24, the other only one, 25, contains. The gear drive 15, 16 is selected so that the brush arm 9 executes a sixth of a revolution during one full revolution of the brush arm 22.
Capacitors 45, 47, 52, 53 etc. are connected on one side to the six contact pieces 43, 44, 50, 51 etc. of the ssinge 3, 4 of the storage device B, the other assignments of which polarized with a key contact 27 of the keyboard A and the neutral set Line relay R and thus also the transmitter C are connected. The armature 28 of the relay R is connected to the line L and puts it as required to the batteries 29 or 30. The buttons 1 and 2 work with button contacts 3i, 32 respectively. 33, 34 together, which connect the plus or minus side of a battery 35 divided in the middle to the key body. Another contact 36, which is still closed when any of the keys next to the contact 27 is moved, influences the circuit of a battery 37 and the switching magnet 11.
Magnets 38, 39 move the clutch 1 i, 18 between the motor 19 of the transmitter C and the storage device B by means of an armature lever 40 in such a way that it is disengaged when the magnet 238 is excited and is engaged when 39 is excited.
The mode of operation of the transmitter is as follows: As soon as one of the keys, for example 1., is depressed, the key body rests against the lower contact 32. Thus. the key body is applied from the positive pole of the battery 35 to the nega tive pole. At the same time, the contacts 27 and 36 close, since the movable axis 41 of these contacts is rotated on the cam 42 by the key body.
Assuming that the contact arm 10 with its brushes 5, 6 in the storage device B is currently on the contact parts 43, 44, the following power connections are established: From the negative pole of the battery 35, contact 32, key body 1, brush 5, contact piece 43. capacitor 45, connecting line., -, 46, contact 27. back to the center of the battery 35, also from the positive pole of the battery 35, contact 33, key body 2, brush 6, contact, piece 44. capacitor 47, Connection line 46, contact 27, back to the center of the battery 35.
The capacitors 45 and 47 receive current accordingly and who are charged with different polarities. At the same time, the circuit of the battery 37 and the magnet 11 closes via the contact 36. This attracts its armature 48 and thus moves the pawl 12 downwards, engaging the next following tooth of the ratchet wheel 13. As soon as the button i is released again, all the contact closures are canceled as well, namely the circuit of the magnet 11 is interrupted, so that it releases its armature and the pawl moves upwards under the influence of a spring 49 and the ratchet wheel and the Arm so far be moved in the direction of the arrow that the brushes 5, 6 on the contact pieces 50, 51 of the rings 3 and 4 get.
The capacitors 45, 47 now remain in the state of charge that was communicated to them when the key was first described.
If, for example, both keys t and 2 are pressed down for the next character, the following current flows are created: From the negative pole of the battery 35, contact 32, key body 1, brush 5, contact piece 50, capacitor 52, connecting line 46, contact 27, Center of battery 35; also negative pole of the battery 35, contact 34, key body 2, brush 6, contact piece 51, capacitor 53, line 46, contact 27, center of the battery 35. There are accordingly the two capacitors 52, 53, charged with the same polarity. The electromagnet 11 also moves the pawl 12 further by one tooth, and the brush arm 10 is switched on after the buttons 1 and 2 are released.
In this way, the capacitors connected to the contact pieces of the contact rings 3 and 4 can be charged one after the other in different ways and thus the characters selected on the keyboard can be stored. Your sending over, the line L then gells in the following way: It is assumed that the capacitors 54, 55 over the brushes 5, 6 of the contact arm 10 certain charges, for example 54 a positive, 55 negative, would have received . If then, as shown, the contact arm 9 with the Bür most 7, 8 reaches the contact pieces 56, 57, the brush 21 of the transmitter arm 22 steps on the contact piece 23.
It comes about with the following circuit: Contact piece 23, brush 21, line relay R, connecting line 46, capacitor 54, contact piece 56.Brush 7. Line 60, contact piece 23. The capacitor 54 discharges and the line relay puts its armature 28 uni in the corresponding sense of the charging of the capacitor 54. Accordingly, a current surge is sent from the battery 29 via the line L.
As soon as the brush 21 reaches the contact piece 24, the circuit of the capacitor 54 is interrupted and that of the capacitor 55 is closed via the brush e, the line 61, the contact piece 24, the brush 21, the relay R, the line 46 and the discharge circuit for produced this capacitor, so that the relay puts its armature in the opposite direction and the line line L connects to the battery 30.
The inner contact ring of transmitter C only comes into effect when its contact 2i is passed over by brush 20 and the contact processes of brush 21 are ended. are. It is used for switching purposes in the event that the two contact arms 9 and 10 enter their working area in a disturbing manner on both sides.
For example, if the telegraph operator on the keyboard types up a series of characters more quickly. than the line transmitter is able to forward them ;, a contact spring 66 of the arm 10 occurs on a contact cord 6i, (read on (learn aclis body 68 of the contact arm 9 is provided. In this case, a circuit is created by the battery 37, spring 66, Contact 67, line 78. Magnet 69 and light bulb 26 back to battery 37.
The lamp lights up and the magnet attracts its armature 70 and thereby moves a locking plate 71 under the buttons 1, 2, so that these are locked and cannot move according to the element until the contact 67 has left the spring 66 as the contact arm 9 continues to move and the locking plate 71 has stepped out of the key area by the spring 72. The lamp, which can also be replaced by an acoustic signal, goes out and shows that the telegraph operator can give signals again.
If, on the other hand, the telegraph operator is late in submitting signals, the contact arm 9 will lag behind the contact arm 10 so quickly that a contact piece 73 embedded in the axle body 68 comes under the spring 66. As a result, a circuit comes from the battery 37 via Feiler 66. Contact piece 73, line 7'4. Magnet 38. Contact brush 20, contact piece 25, line 75, back to battery 37. The magnet 38 attracts its armature 40 and thus releases the coupling parts 17, 18, so that the contact arm 9 of the storage device B is separated from the drive by the line transmitter C.
The new coupling of these parts takes place with the aid of a further contact piece 76 in the Acl) body 68. This is touched by the spring 66 in the next step of the arm 10, while the contact piece 73 is released. A current circuit then comes from the battery 37 via 66, 76. Line 77, magnet 39, brush 20, contact piece 25, line 75 to battery 37. The magnet 39 is now energized and thus the coupling 17, 18 is restored, so that the contact arm 9 also resumes its normal course. The contact pieces 67, 73 and 76 are connected to Schleifring) ge 82, the brushes of which are connected to the corresponding circuit parts.
The slip ring 83 finally supplies the brush 66 with the current.
