Arrangement for reducing the current displacement of conductors embedded in grooves in electrical machines, in which the conductors filling the entire groove are broken down according to their height into several partial conductors that are insulated from one another.
In large AC machines in which strong currents are passed through slot conductors of large dimensions that are located in deep slots, the effect of the slot transverse field generated by the current itself causes strong eddy currents to occur in the slot conductors, which push the current towards the edge of the Work towards the groove and give rise to major additional losses. It is known that these eddy currents can be reduced by subdivision and entanglement of the conductors.
For example, a live conductor that fills the entire slot is divided into several partial conductors, which are weakly insulated from one another so that no eddy currents can occur, and the conductors of two slots are interlaced with one another in such a way that the order of the ladder was reversed.
However, such an arrangement is not sufficient to completely suppress the eddy currents. This can only be achieved in that each sub-conductor assumes each of the possible layers in the groove, so that none of the sub-conductors has better positions than the others. This has been achieved by stranding the sub-conductors together in the grooves.
Another way is that one], with more than three pai = allele-connected partial ladders, two or three ladders each and interlacing the Bieraus -childeneli ladder groups. Finally has.
an arrangement is also achieved, according to which each rod takes up all the llölieiilag @ en in the groove and is axially guided in jor f-Vlicolage for part of its length, by the fact that the Leifer 2eriii #, - end often.

Fi ,,. i further shows that with this arrangement, each sub-conductor occupies all layers in the groove height equally often.
A corresponding arrangement for 12 sub-conductors of a groove, with six superimposed on each other, is shown in FIG. 5. Corresponding to the six superposed conductors, six conductor branches connected in series are required here. Fig. 6 shows the twisting point of the 12 sub-conductors after zig. 5.
The number of sub-conductors into which the overall conductor of the grooves is subdivided depends on the one hand on the flexibility that is still available, which is required for the production of the winding, and on the other hand on the copper height, which in view of the Dimensions of the uteri may still be used without zti large eddy current losses.
When using before- copper ropes is. usually the first point of view, when using solid copper usually the second is decisive. In the case of very deep grooves in large NAC machines, it is easy to. on the necessity of 30 massive partial ladders to be led one above the other Finally, the number of sub-conductors must be the same as the number of branches of the same type - or a fraction of them - into which each winding train can be split.
The maximum number of these branches is given by the number of slots connected in series. Since the number of slots in larger machines is usually very considerable, it is known that the arrangements described here enable strong subdivisions with complete twisting of the conductors. In most cases it will be sufficient to divide the windings into a small number of two genes, such as 3, 4, 5 or 6, since this usually means that the sub-conductor dimensions are sufficiently small. Each branch then contains a series of grooves connected one behind the other.
Another useful type of shift in the cyclical vertising of the subconductors is shown in FIG. 1, which comes into question when the number of superimposed subconductors is odd.
In this case, m.an selects the shifting step to n / 2 + 1, where 1i is the total number of partial conductors in the slot n / 2, i.e. the number of conductors lying one above the other in a layer. Even then, all partial conductors are completely mixed up.
In a clei-arti; en: arrangement, it can be an odd number. of partial conductors and two currents: -en for whatever reason do not use, plan can choose the number of branches twice as large as the number of superimposed, ending partial conductors.
The division of the ladder into two ne- bcnc @ nande @ lying Grtil, l; en. those in F17. 3 to 'i, there was the further advantage, especially in the case of open grooves, that (read longitudinal grooves (1, which can have very significant values in highly used machines), can only cause eddy currents to a small extent .
All the arrangements described here have an advantage (let them suppress not only the eddy currents originating from the slot fields, but also the very considerable vortex and current losses caused by the stray fields of the end connections in large machines Winding.
In all cases, the sub-conductors only need to be insulated slightly. to become. to block the path of the inner tension. A thin coating or enamel coating of the individual conductors is often sufficient for this.
