Elektrische Lolzomotive.
Electric locomotive. So far, large electric locomotives with extensive and heavy equipment have usually been built in such a way that the equipment is placed in the middle of the car body, which in turn rested on a motorized bogie at the front and rear.
The car body was therefore relatively weak and had to be stiffened with particularly strong and heavy side members or bridge structures. Or divided the locomotive into two identical, closely coupled locomotives; but then one was forced to carry two of those accessories that were only necessary in a simple number, which increased the weight to be carried considerably.
The design according to the present invention makes the locomotive much cheaper. According to this, the heavy output parts without the drive motors are at least partially placed on a sidecar which is connected to the vehicle parts containing the drive motors by a close coupling.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention can be seen from the drawing ring. It shows an alternating current, ornloconnotive, driven by two motors, to which the current is fed via a transformer. The transformer is located here on a special carriage aa that rests on two running axles. The two locomotives b are also connected to him by close couplings c.
The engines contained in these each work on two drive axles d, w iihreiid another running axle is provided to support the traction vehicles.
In addition to the transformer and its cooling device, other devices can also be accommodated in the middle part a, in particular the high-voltage devices such as oil switches and lightning protection devices, and also the control devices of the locomotive, which are connected to the taps on the low-voltage side of the transformer by cables.
that is, the guards or the main controls, and finally other accessories such as the compressor unit, converter groups or rectifiers. The arrangement offers a further advantage, if the transformer, respectively. the other towering apparatus set as low as possible on the profile; While the entire interior of the locomotive can then be overlooked in front of the Fiffirer stand.
The separation of the equipment vehicle from the locomotive's drive train is valuable for carrying out overhauls and repairs, as this increases the accessibility of all equipment parts and makes them easier to replace.
Of course, the locomotive can be made in two parts instead of three parts as shown; in that the part of the vehicle which carries the heavy apparatus is attached to a single part containing the traction engines or engine groups, in the manner of a steam locomotive tender, by means of rear couplings.
In any case, if necessary, part of the tender weight cnit or without transmission by springs can be used in a known manner to increase the axle load of the drive frames in order to increase their adhesion weight. In this case, as is known, the sidecar can also be designed with one axis.
