The invention relates to a timepiece with power reserve indication mechanism comprising a mechanism driven by the relative movements of the barrel and the ratchet to indicate and display the number of days or hours of the power reserve of the timepiece.
There are a large number of devices for indicating the power reserve of a timepiece, including a wristwatch, in which a differential mechanism is used driven by the relative movements of the barrel and the ratchet and thus allow the display of the power reserve of the timepiece according to a number of hours or days corresponding to a lapse during which the timepiece will operate without intermediate winding.
The purpose of the invention described below is to use a particular barrel construction to greatly simplify the mechanism for indicating the power reserve of the timepiece while improving its reliability.
The timepiece with its power reserve indication mechanism is characterized in that it comprises 2 barrels placed face to face and having a common shaft and a bung so as to make them integral with each other. on the other, the first barrel being used as a ratchet and the second meshing directly with the wheel of the counter wheel to control the escapement and the oscillator of the timepiece, the common axis of the two barrels directly attacking a rake connected to an axis of the display mechanism of the power reserve.
In a preferred embodiment of the timepiece, the rake of the power reserve mechanism is driven by 2 pins housed at the end of the shaft connecting the 2 barrels.
Alternatively, the rake of the power reserve mechanism can be driven by a gear placed at the end of the shaft.
The axis of the power reserve mechanism may have a needle moving on an indication area of the power reserve on the dial of the timepiece.
The winding mechanism of the timepiece may include a winding rod engaged with a gear train arranged to rotate the barrel used as a ratchet, or a disc or cylinder placed behind a window of the dial.
The drawing represents, by way of example, a mode of execution of the mechanism, object of the invention. In the drawing:
<tb> fig. 1 <sep> is a perspective view of the bridge-side timepiece, and
<tb> fig. 2 <sep> is a perspective view of the timepiece on the dial side.
The mechanism for indicating the power reserve shown in the drawing with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2 was developed for a wristwatch. However, this use is not limiting and the mechanism for indicating the power reserve described can be used to equip pocket watches, or even clocks.
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 of the drawing, the timepiece comprises two barrels 1 and 2 pivoting respectively on a barrel shaft 3 and a plug 4 screwed onto the shaft, so as to make the two barrels 1 and 2 integral. The barrels 1 and 2 2 each contain an identical cylinder spring not shown. The barrel 1 is used as a ratchet and is rotated when the winding is carried out by means of a winding rod 5 and a gear mechanism 6, 7 and 8.
The barrel 2 normally meshes with the first mobile 9 of the counter wheel of the timepiece and thus transmits the energy necessary for the operation of the escapement and the oscillator. The person skilled in the art easily understands that between the maximum arming and the complete disarming of the barrels 1 and 2, the number of laps completed is the addition of the numbers of revolutions of each of the barrels. But because the two barrels 1 and 2 contain identical springs, their number of revolutions are equal and therefore, during the time between the maximum arming and the complete disarming, the barrel shaft performs only half the total number of turns. For example, if each barrel has 12 turns of development, the barrel shaft 1 and 2 makes 12 turns in total.
This feature, allows in operation to use the rotation of the common cylinder shaft to drive the power reserve indicator 10 is in the extremely simple embodiment of FIG. 2 in the form of a rake 10a driven by 2 pins 11 and 12 housed at the end of the barrel shaft 3. These two pins 11 and 12 have the rake perform a displacement of a tooth every half turn of the shaft. barrel, as shown in the drawing. It is obvious to those skilled in the art that other embodiments using conventional gears or any other form of friction reduction are of course conceivable.
The particular arrangement shown in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawing allows the extremely simple realization of the power reserve indication mechanism, wherein the rake 11 is connected to an axis 13 having a long pivot at the end of which is fixed the display needle 14 of the reserve of walk. The long pivot 13 passes through the dial and the needle 14 can move on an unrepresented area on the dial and indicating the available power reserve of the timepiece.
The power reserve indicator needle 14 may be replaced by a disk or a cylinder connected to the axis 13 which will be placed behind a window of the dial.
The power reserve mechanism 10 which has just been described is extremely simple and consists mainly of the rake 10a attached to the axis 13, which carries the needle 14. The rake is driven directly by the shaft 3 barrel by means of the two pins 11 and 12 attached to the end of the shaft 3 along the axis of this shaft with a spacing corresponding to the toothing of the rake 10a. This extremely simple construction of the power reserve mechanism 10 greatly improves the reliability and strength of said mechanism.
