<tb>la fig. 1<sep>est un schéma synoptique expliquant la mise en ¼oeuvre du procédé conforme à l'invention;
The present invention relates to the field of electrical equipment in domestic, tertiary or industrial, including devices for controlling and managing the brightness level of different types of lighting loads, namely resistive, capacitive or inductive loads , and relates to a method of self-adaptation of a drive to a load.
The invention also relates to a device for implementing this method.
Currently, the control and the management of the brightness level of different types of lighting loads are essentially achieved by cutting the feed phase of the load, either by conduction at the angle, or by cut-off. 'angle.
In conduction mode at the angle,
the first part of each half cycle is blocked and the second part is transmitted to the load, while in angle cut mode, the first part of each half cycle is transmitted to the load and the second part is blocked . The angle-conduction mode is suitable for inductive or resistive loads, while the angle-cut mode is suitable for capacitive or resistive loads.
An angle cut on inductive load causes overvoltages and conduction at the angle on capacitive load causes overcurrent.
These known drives have, however, a number of disadvantages. Indeed, if a drive is dedicated to a type of load, the choice of the product can be made only if the load is known, which is incompatible with a necessary flexibility.
When the drives are configurable, they are not suitable for dynamic changes of the load type and the configuration presents risks of error due, among other things, to the ignorance of the problem by the installer or to handling errors.
Moreover, the self-configurable power-on dimmers, existing to date, are not adapted to dynamic changes in the type of load.
The present invention aims to overcome these disadvantages by providing a method and a device for self-adaptation of a drive to a load allowing, on the one hand, to simplify the choice of the product and, on the other hand, on the other hand, a dynamic change in the type of load.
For this purpose, the method is characterized in that it consists in powering a drive in cut mode at the angle and,
when the drive is operating in angle cut mode, to check the adaptation of the connected load by noting an overvoltage and to allow the load to operate or, in the event of an overvoltage, to make an attempt to switch the drive in angle-conduction mode, in order to verify the adaptation to an inductive load by observing an absence of overcurrent and to then allow the operation of the load or, in case of detection of overcurrent, cut the output of the drive and prohibit any adjustment and, when the drive is operating in angle-conduction mode, check the adaptation to the connected load by noting over-current and allow operation the charge or, in the event of an overcurrent,
attempting to switch the drive to angle-cut mode, to verify the adaptation to a capacitive load by noting overvoltage and to allow the load to operate or, if a overvoltage, to make an attempt to return the drive in angle-conduction mode, in order to check the adaptation to an inductive load by finding a lack of overcurrent and then allow the operation of the load or, in case of existence of an overcurrent, cut the output of the drive and prohibit any adjustment.
The invention also relates to a device for the implementation of this method characterized in that it is a drive connected to a load and essentially consisting of a power stage, by a control unit and control the charge,
by an overvoltage detection unit, a unit for detecting the zero crossing of the current in the load, an overcurrent detection unit and a zero crossing detection unit of the voltage.
The invention will be better understood, thanks to the description below, which relates to a preferred embodiment, given by way of non-limiting example, and explained with reference to the accompanying diagrammatic drawings, in which:
<tb> fig. 1 <sep> is a block diagram explaining the implementation of the method according to the invention;
<tb> figs. 2 and 3 <sep> are views similar to that of fig. 1 relating to the management of overloads and overheating, and
<tb> fig. 4 <sep> is a block diagram of the device for carrying out the method according to the invention.
According to the invention, and as shown in the block diagram of FIG. 1 of the accompanying drawings, the method of self-adaptation of a drive to a load is to turn on a drive in angle cut mode and, when the drive is operating in angle cut mode, to check the adapting the connected load by noting overvoltage and allowing the load to operate or, in the event of overvoltage, attempting to switch the drive to angle-conduction mode, in order to verify the adaptation to an inductive load by observing an absence of overcurrent and to then allow the operation of the load or,
if an overcurrent is detected, cut the output of the drive and prohibit any adjustment and, when the drive is operating in angle-conduction mode, check the adaptation to the connected load by noting the absence of overcurrent and allow the operation of the load or, in the event of an overcurrent, to make an attempt to switch the drive in angle cut mode, to verify the adaptation to a capacitive load by finding an absence of overvoltage and to allow the operation of the load or, in case of overvoltage detection, to make an attempt to return the drive in angle-conduction mode, in order to verify the adaptation to an inductive load by finding an absence of overcurrent and then authorizing the operation of the load or,
if there is an overcurrent, cut the output of the drive and prohibit any adjustment.
In the case of operation in conduction mode at the angle, the double tilt attempt makes it possible to deal with cases of direct connection of "cold" charges, especially in the case of use with controlled outlets, the Inverter output is active.
A "cold" load is characterized by a higher impedance than during its operation, the impedance of the load decreasing as its heating caused by its power supply.
The connection of a "cold" load can instantly cause overcurrent that can be assimilated by the drive to an incompatibility between the conduction mode at the angle and the load connected.
With the control strategy according to the method according to the invention, the distinction between this case and the actual replacement of the load by a capacitive load is not carried out immediately. The drive considers that there has been a change in the nature of the load.
Therefore, when attempting to operate in angle cut mode, when the load is indeed inductive, overvoltages indicate to the drive that it is necessary to return to the conduction mode at the angle.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the method consists in performing, during the operation of the load in angle cut mode, a complementary check of the absence of an overcurrent and cut, in In case of occurrence of such an overcurrent, the output of the drive prohibiting any adjustment until the next power up (fig.
1).
According to one embodiment of the invention, the method consists in carrying out, during the operation of the charge in the angle-conduction mode, a complementary check of the absence of an overvoltage and to cut, in case when such an overvoltage occurs, the output of the drive prohibits any adjustment until the next power-up (Fig. 1).
The method can be further completed, both in the angle cut mode and in the angle conduction mode, by an operation for detecting an overload which results, if necessary, in a corresponding reduction in the level of output voltage (Fig. 2) by activating an overload stage until the overload disappears or until the output is switched off.
Similarly, it is also possible to provide a supplementary operation for detecting an overheating, which leads, if necessary, to a corresponding reduction in the voltage level of the output (FIG 3) by activation of an overheating stage.
The method according to the invention is implemented by means of a device, shown in FIG. 4 of the accompanying drawings, which is a dimmer 1 connected to a load 2 and essentially constituted by a power stage 3, by a unit 4 for controlling and controlling the load, by a unit 5 for detecting overvoltages, by a unit 6 for detecting the zero crossing of the current in the load, by a unit 7 for detecting overcurrents and by a unit 8 for detecting the zero crossing of the voltage.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the power stage 3, consisting of an electronic circuit supplying the load 2 via two transistors 31 associated with two diodes 32, is connected to the unit 4 for controlling and controlling the load 2, which is essentially in the form of a microcontroller controlling the transistors 31 as a function of the input signals emitted by the load 2 and adapting the switching mode as a function of the overvoltage and overcurrent detection signals emitted by the units for detecting overvoltages and detecting overcurrents 7 respectively.
Thus, the unit 4 for controlling and controlling the load, by exploiting the input signals emanating from the load 2, enables the phase division, synchronized with the mains voltage, and adapts the switching mode to take account of information provided by units 5 and 7.
The surge detection unit 5 is in the form of a comparator interposed between the phase P of the supply circuit of the power stage 3 and the control unit 4.
This comparator detects an overvoltage when the voltage across the transistors 31 of the power stage 3 exceeds a predetermined threshold, for example 400 V.
The unit for detecting the zero crossing of the current in the load 6 is also in the form of a comparator mounted between the phase P of the power supply circuit of the power stage 3, the load 2 and the control unit 4. Thus, the comparator detects the zero crossing of the voltage between the phase P and the output of the load 2 and provides an image of the zero crossing of the current in the load 2.
The overcurrent detection unit 7 is in the form of a comparator connected between the power stage 3 and the control and control unit 4.
This comparator detects an overcurrent when the voltage across a shunt, which is the image of the current in the load, is greater than a threshold that sets the level of the short-circuit current.
Finally, the unit 8 for detecting the zero crossing of the voltage is in the form of an optocoupler mounted, on the one hand, between phase P and neutral N of the power supply circuit of the power stage 3 and load 2 and, on the other hand, the control and control unit 4.
Thanks to the invention, it is possible to achieve the control of different types of loads, especially lighting loads, ie resistive, capacitive or inductive.
Thus, the invention allows optimal management of lighting in tertiary or industrial domestic environment and, in particular, the ignition, extinction or adjustment of a brightness level.
In addition, the invention allows a dynamic change of the type of load by permanently checking the compatibility between the connected load and the active mode of cutting, as well as controlled outlet management.
Finally, the method and the device according to the invention provide protection of the drive against overheating, overloads, short circuits, overvoltages, as well as against loads such as those from the implementation in circuit of aspirators, drills.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown in the accompanying drawings.
Modifications are possible, particularly from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements or by substitution of technical equivalents, without departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
