The holder has shown that in many people the first cervical vertebra, the Atlas, is dislocated (dislocated), which causes compression of the nerves and spinal cord, vessels, etc.. can cause serious diseases and disorders of the body posture also causing serious dysfunctions and pain. Mr. Schümperli has developed a natural, non-medical method, and without contraindications to correct this dislocation (dislocation) of the Atlas.
Since this method can not be practiced with bare hands, it is essential to use a treatment apparatus subject of the present invention which is distinguished by the characteristics listed in claim 1.
The accompanying drawing illustrates schematically and by way of example an embodiment of the massage apparatus for the well-being ("WelIness") or treatment according to the invention.
<tb> Fig. 1 <sep> is a general view of the device without its tip.
<tb> Fig. 2 <sep> is a longitudinal sectional view of the apparatus provided with its tip.
<tb> Fig. 3 <sep> is a sectional view of the bit holder screwed into the distal portion of the apparatus.
<tb> Fig. 4 <sep> is a sectional view of the tip of the apparatus.
In its embodiment illustrated in the drawing, the massage device, "Wellness", or treatment according to the invention advantageously to implement the method ATLASPROFILAX (registered trademark) of replacement of the Atlas dislodged or dislocated in a person, comprises a handpiece formed of a tubular casing 1 closed at its proximal end by a wall 2 provided with a cable passage 3 and at its distal end by a bit holder whose body 4 is screwed into the tubular casing 1.
The tubular casing 1 of the handpiece is divided into two housings,
a distal housing 5 and a proximal housing 6 separated by a transverse support wall 7 secured to the tubular casing 1 with screws 8 for example.
The proximal housing 6 encloses an electric motor 9 and a gear 10 fixed on the partition wall 7 and whose output shaft 11 passes through the partition wall 7 to penetrate axially into the distal housing 5.
The electric motor 9 is supplied with electrical current by cables leaving the tubular piece through the cable passage 3 and powered by a power supply unit comprising a regulator, potentiometer or electronic control, to vary the voltage of motor power and thus its speed of rotation. The motor 9 is a mini-motor supplied with direct current of preferably 24 volts maximum.
This power supply can be housed in a bag in which can also store the handpiece and the tip or the tips of the treatment device and its power cable. Thus the treatment apparatus is autonomous and easily transportable.
A switch or switch on / off 12 is mounted on the tubular casing 1 and allows the user to control the running or stopping of the motor 9.
A cam 13 is fixed on the output shaft 11 of the gearbox 10 and has a planar active face located in a plane not perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the output shaft 11 and therefore of this cam 13.
In the illustrated example, this cam is constituted by a tubular portion, fixed with a screw 14 on the output shaft 11 whose free face forming the active face of the cam 13 is located in a plane forming an angle of 10 deg. at 40 deg. relative to the axis of rotation of this cam 13.
The bit holder whose body 4 is screwed into the distal end of the tubular casing 1 of the handpiece comprises a plunger 15 sliding axially in the body 4 without play and through the body 4 from one side to the other . The distal end of this plunger 15 emerging from the handpiece has a tapping 16 for attaching a tip 17.
The proximal end of the plunger 15 located in the proximal housing 5 is integral with a disc bearing a bearing 18 receiving the axis 19 of a roller 20.
This axis 19 forms an angle with the axis of the plunger 15 of a value identical to the angle formed by the active face of the cam 13 with the axis of rotation of this cam so that the roller 20 rests on this active face of the cam 13.
One or more springs 21 mounted between the body 4 of the bit holder and the disk of the plunger 15 tends to apply the roller 20 against the active face of the cam 13. In the illustrated example, one or more guides 22 solidaires of the plunger disc 15 slide in bores 23 of the body 4 of the bit holder to prevent rotation of the plunger 15 with respect to the body 4.
In this way, when the motor 9 and therefore the output shaft 11 of the gear 10 are rotated, the plunger 15 is driven in linear back and forth movements along the axis of the piece to hand.
The amplitude of these reciprocating movements is determined by the diameter of the contact surface between the roller 20 and the cam 13 as well as by the angle formed by the active face of the cam 13 relative to the axis of it. Preferably the amplitude of movement of the plunger 15 is of the order of 1 to 2 mm, but it may be between 0.2 mm and 5 mm, for example.
The massage device, "Wellness", or treatment also includes one or more removable tips 17 having an axis whose rear end has a thread 24 for cooperating with the tapping 16 of the plunger 15 and whose front end 25 has retaining formations.
This front end is introduced into a blind hole that comprises a rubber piece 26 forming the head of the tip, which allows to join these two parts.
The rubber part 26 preferably has a hardness between 40 and 60 shore. The outer shape of this rubber piece 26 preferably has the shape of a rounded ogive.
In variants,
the transformation of the rotational movement of the output shaft 11 of the gearbox 10 into a reciprocating translation movement could be obtained by means of a different transformation mechanism without departing from the scope of the claimed protection.
The spring 21 forming first means for holding the roller 20 against the active face of the cam 13 can be replaced by any technical equivalent.
The guide 22 sliding in the bore 23 of the body 4 of the bit holder is second means to prohibit any rotation between the plunger 15 and the body 4 can be replaced by any equivalent means.
