The invention relates to a shipping package for cylindrical bodies, which can be easily processed on the sorting systems of the distribution centers by post or rail. The packaging is easy to assemble by folding it and, depending on the length, is provided on the long side with two to four mechanical, locking plug-in closures or with a self-adhesive closure. The shipping packaging is used for cylindrical bodies as well as for flat goods that are rolled or the like. can be brought into a cylindrical shape.
The increasing mechanization and automation of mail delivery, in particular mail distribution through automatic sorting systems, has led to increased demands being placed on the mail items to be posted, both in letter delivery and in parcel delivery. The following is particularly about parcel post. In order to enable the parcel post to be processed smoothly, the postal services have drawn up regulations on the uniform design of the parcel post. There is a not inconsiderable surcharge on the ordinary fee for "bulky goods parcels", i.e. parcels that, due to their shape or nature, cannot be routed through the mechanical conveying and distribution systems used by Swiss Post or cannot be easily stacked with other postal parcels.
This also applies to rolls and sleeves. Such rolls are used in particular for sending larger flat objects, in particular printed products such as posters, plans or calendars, which, because of their format, are not suitable for sending as normal letter or parcel post, but which can be rolled up without any problems. These mail items are referred to below as "posters" only; the said applies equally to pictures, calendars and similar flat objects that can be brought into roll form or such objects that have roll form.
Shipping packaging for flat shipping goods is already known, which after opening, e.g. for customs control, have it closed again, for example from DE 4 302 886 A1. These have the considerable disadvantage that they are not suitable for larger posters. The generally known and used roles have the disadvantage already mentioned that they require special treatment during processing and therefore cause a tariff surcharge. It has already been proposed to use long rectangular cross-section packages instead of rolls. However, these have the disadvantage that the goods to be shipped enjoy insufficient protection when processed by mechanical conveyors and distributors.
It is the object of the present invention to avoid the disadvantages of the known shipping packaging and to create a shipping packaging which can be passed over the mechanical conveying and distribution devices used by Swiss Post and which optimally protect the goods to be conveyed during processing and transport Damage granted. This object is achieved in a shipping packaging of the type mentioned by the characterizing features of claim 1. Preferred embodiments of the shipping packaging according to the invention are claimed in the dependent claims.
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of a preferred embodiment. Shown in Fig. 1 is a shipping package as made from a substantially rectangular shape, i.e. Fig. 1 shows a plan view of the unfolded shipping packaging. Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of the inside of the shipping packaging with the inner jacket B in a triangular embodiment and the outer jacket D with a trapezoidal cross section. Fig. 3 shows a perspective view of one end of the shipping packaging before closing. The material for making the shipping packaging is corrugated cardboard; but it can also be made from solid cardboard or plastic.
Any material is suitable which has sufficient strength, but which, on the other hand, can be bent along bending lines provided with a slight perforation.
The basic shape of the shipping packaging essentially consists of a rectangular part A, the length of which corresponds to the intended length of the packaging and which has six bending lines 11 to 16 parallel to the long sides, which enable part A to be folded easily to form the shipping packaging. On the outer long side of part A and at the ends of the surfaces formed by the bending lines there are some tabs, but they are so small that the waste during manufacture is very low. From the first three rectangular lines 21, 22 and 23 formed by the first three bending lines 11, 12 and 13 and the inner longitudinal side of part A, after folding the shipping packaging, a triangular inner jacket B (FIG. 2) is used for receiving of the poster.
The four rectangular surfaces 24 to 27 located between the bending lines three 13 to six 16 and the outer long side of part A form the square outer shell D, which preferably has a trapezoidal cross-section, and which is used for the outer protection and for receiving the address label, etc serves. Narrow trapezoidal cams 8 are cut out of the rectangular surface 21 along the first bending line 11 of the rectangular surface 21 and remain movably connected to the second rectangular surface 22. Between the fourth bending line 14 and the fifth bending line 15 there are narrow rectangular slots 93, approximately in the middle of the fifth rectangular surface 25, into which the trapezoidal tabs 8 engage when the part A is folded together. This causes the triangular inner jacket B (see
Fig. 2) is fixed in the outer square shell. On the lower and upper narrow sides of the second rectangular surface 22 and the third rectangular surface 23 located between the first bending line 11 and the second bending line 12 there are narrow rectangular slots 9 running at a short distance from the edge transverse to the bending lines. On the narrow sides of the first Rectangular surface 21 are trapezoidal tabs 84 on which there are two narrow rectangular cams 71 on both sides, which engage in the rectangular slots 9 when the shipping packaging is closed and form the easily re-openable closure of the inner jacket B of the shipping packaging and at the same time the triangular one Ensure the shape of the cross section of the inner jacket B.
On the narrow side of part A between the third bending line 13 and the fourth bending line 14 the fourth rectangular surface 24 and the sixth rectangular surface 26 located between the fifth bending line 15 and the sixth bending line 16 are trapezoidal tabs 81 at both ends with locking slots 91 at the base of the tabs 81. At both ends of the rectangular surface 27 located between the sixth bending line 16 and the outer edge of part A there are tabs 83 with semicircular cams 72 corresponding to the outer shape of the finished shipping packaging, preferably trapezoidal, which are intended to engage in the locking slots 91 of the trapezoidal tabs 81.
On the long side of part A, i.e. On the outer edge of the seventh rectangular surface 27 there are semicircular insertion tabs 82 which are provided with a narrowing of the base of the semicircle for better adhesion of the insertion tabs 82 in the insertion slots 94 located in the third area along the third bending line 13. To make it easier to insert the shipping packaging, the insertion slots 94 have semicircular extensions.
Correspondingly attached bending lines 11 to 16 and possibly perforations result in a combination of a triangular and a square sleeve when folded (FIG. 2). This combination of a triangular inner jacket B and a square outer jacket D results in an enormous stability of this shipping packaging.
According to a further preferred embodiment, instead of the first three rectangular areas 21 to 23, four areas are formed, i.e. between the rectangular surfaces 22 and 23 there is another surface which has a smaller width than the adjacent rectangular surfaces 22 and 23, but also a smaller width than the fifth rectangular surface 25 forming part of the square outer shell D. As a result, a shipping package is formed which has both an outer jacket D with a rectangular or trapezoidal cross section and an inner jacket B with a trapezoidal cross section.
Shipping packaging that has this shape is not yet known in this form. According to a preferred embodiment, the square outer shell is designed with a trapezoidal cross section. This means that the shipping packaging on Swiss Post's sorting systems falls onto the wider underside or, if it is placed on this side, remains on this underside during further transport. To stabilize this triangular or quadrangular inner or outer shell, cams 8 on the long side are automatically guided by wrapping them in two slots 93 provided for this purpose. Moving the center of gravity downwards (trapezoidal shape) means that this packaging remains on the post conveyor belts with the label upwards and can therefore be easily detected with the automatic reading device.
The two end faces of the shipping packaging are equipped with special locking push-in closures. On the inside with a locking snap lock 84 and on the outside with a locking push-in lock 83. The snap lock is provided with a hollow finger cut 95 and is designed in such a way that it locks into the slots 9 provided for this purpose with the cams 71 formed when it is locked. The outer locking plug-in closure 83 is inserted into the locking slots 91 provided for this purpose by means of two guide tabs 72 on the side after the side inserting tabs 81 have been folded over. The insertion part is provided at the end of the fifth rectangular surface 25 with a hollow finger cut, which facilitates the opening of the outer square outer casing.
The flip and plug fasteners on the front sides can be closed again after opening. The distance between the folding clasp (inside) and the push-in clasp (outside) ensures optimal protection of the goods to be shipped (crumple zone). After use, the shipping packaging can be dismantled in a few simple steps and stored flat for reuse or disposed of.
