Abstract

A spray solution (I) for protection against insects comprises (by weight) (a) 1-2 % polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil, (b) 10-30% propylene glycol, (c) 30-50% denatured ethanol suitable for cosmetic use, (d) 0.5-2% citronella essential oil, (e) 0.5-2% geranium essential oil, (f) perfume (as required) and (g) water to 100%. An Independent claim is also included for the preparation of (I), comprises: (i) adding (a) to (g) under stirring; (ii) adding (b) and (c); (iii) mixing; (iv) adding (d), (e) and (f); and (v) mixing.

  La presente invenzione riguarda una soluzione per uno spray protettivo della persona dalle punture degli insetti (zanzare, vespe, ecc.). Essa è a base di elementi naturali derivanti da piante e fiori quali geranio e citronella. La formula, a base dei sopracitati oli essenziali protegge naturalmente, lasciando la pelle gradevolmente profumata. 



  A differenza dei prodotti insetto-repellenti che hanno finora trovato diffusa applicazione, che si basano su formulazioni insetto-repellenti tradizionali aventi un odore sgradevole e un contenuto più o meno elevato di DEET e la cui efficacia è dovuta quasi esclusivamente ai componenti chimici o farmaceutici, la richiedente ha elaborato il prodotto oggetto della presente domanda basandosi su elementi naturali, quali gli oli essenziali di geranio e citronella. 



  La formula a base di oli essenziali di geranio e citronella, che assicura un efficace effetto repellente, la cui azione è stata scientificamente testata in laboratori indipendenti con criteri rigorosi, lascia la pelle gradevolmente profumata per numerose ore ed è particolarmente indicata per pelli sensibili e per la pelle delicata dei bambini. Il prodotto sotto forma di lozione spray assicura un pratico utilizzo e non macchiando consente, per rinforzare l'effetto repellente, di spruzzare anche sui tessuti. 



  Le singole essenze impiegate sono state indicate con il nome sotto il quale esse sono ampiamente conosciute sia dalle ditte produttrici che da tutti gli esperti del ramo.

  - Aggiungere l'acqua, agitando fino a soluzione limpida e omogenea.



  



  The present invention relates to a solution for a protective spray of the person from insect bites (mosquitoes, wasps, etc.). It is based on natural elements deriving from plants and flowers such as geranium and lemongrass. The formula, based on the aforementioned essential oils, protects naturally, leaving the skin pleasantly perfumed.



  Unlike the insect-repellent products that have so far found widespread application, which are based on traditional insect-repellent formulations having an unpleasant smell and a more or less high content of DEET and whose effectiveness is due almost exclusively to chemical or pharmaceutical components, the applicant developed the product covered by this application based on natural elements, such as essential oils of geranium and lemongrass.



  The formula based on essential oils of geranium and lemongrass, which ensures an effective repellent effect, the action of which has been scientifically tested in independent laboratories with rigorous criteria, leaves the skin pleasantly perfumed for several hours and is particularly suitable for sensitive skin and for the delicate skin of children. The product in the form of a spray lotion ensures practical use and by not staining it allows, to reinforce the repellent effect, to spray also on the fabrics.



  The individual essences used have been indicated by the name under which they are widely known both by the manufacturing companies and by all those skilled in the art.

  - Mix alcohol, propylene glycol, essential oils and perfume.



  - Carefully disperse the cremophor in the mixture.
