Fig. 12 und 25).
The invention relates to a safety tear tape of a container with an insertable lid according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
It is common today for many containers to make their first opening visible in order to prevent unauthorized access to the contents of the container. In the case of metal containers, in particular larger containers, such as those used for lacquers, paints and adhesives, as well as for other products which are filled in large quantities, the security tapes are usually made of metal. Particularly in the case of containers that are often transported by train or truck, the safety straps consist of sheet metal tires that either have a reclosable toggle lock or are designed for one-time opening. The known metal security straps or tires do their job perfectly, but their manufacture is complex and expensive.
Another disadvantage of the known tear tapes is that for the application after filling the containers with the contents either an expensive machine has to be used or that the tapes have to be applied by hand. In both cases, the application involves high labor or machine costs.
The object of the present invention is to provide a safety tear tape which can be produced inexpensively, which guarantees the opening of the container and which is easy to handle when applied to the filled container and detached.
This object is achieved by a security tear tape according to the features of claim 1.
The safety tear tape can be manufactured inexpensively as a plastic injection-molded part and cannot be reused after it has been torn open for the first time. The safety band can already be attached to the lid or on the insert by the manufacturer of the container and can be delivered together with this to the filler of the container. The security tape is applied to the closed container in a simple manner by axial pressing, and no expensive devices are required for this. The safety tape can be used both for buckets with a simple push-in or press-in lid and for containers with an insert container, in which the hardener is delivered separately from the resin, for example in the case of two-component adhesives, but within the container.
It is easy to open the safety tear tape by tearing open the predetermined breaking point on a tab.
The invention is explained in more detail on the basis of illustrated exemplary embodiments for a container without and a container with an insert. Show it:
1 shows a partial cross section through the safety tear tape and through the lid (with a tear tab extending parallel to the container jacket), onto which the tape is placed,

FIG.
26 shows a schematic perspective illustration of a container with a safety tear tape attached.
In the illustrations in FIGS. 13 and 26, reference number 1 shows a safety tear-open tape, in short tear-open tape, made of plastic, which is placed on the upper end of a container 3 and connects the container cover 5 to the upper container edge designed as a rolled edge 13. The lid 5 is cup-shaped and its free edge is delimited by a rolled edge 7. An elastic seal 11 is inserted or injected between the rolled edge 7 and the peripheral edge region 9 intended for insertion into the container 3. The seal 11 serves to seal the inserted lid 5 with respect to the container 3.
Analogous to the cover 5, the rolled edge 13 is formed at the upper end of the container 3, which serves on the one hand to stiffen the container 3 and on the other hand covers the sharp edge of the sheet metal blank from which the body of the container 3 is made and therefore the user of the container 3 protects against injuries. The production of containers 3 and lids 5 from sheet metal is known and is therefore not explained in detail. The production of rolled edges on containers and lids is also known and is also not described.
The tear tape 1 has the shape of a hoop with an essentially circular cylindrical tape outside 15 and a profiled inside 17. In the first exemplary embodiment, two circumferential grooves 19 and 21 are formed on the inside of the belt 17 in the circumferential direction, the groove 19 for receiving the rolled edge 7 on the cover 5 and the groove 21 for receiving the rolled edge 13 on the container edge. The contours of the two grooves 19, 21 are semicircular. That the two grooves 19, 21 essentially enclose the two rolling edges 7 and 13 in the radial direction, i.e. over a circular arc of 180 ° or approximately 180 °. A conical section 23 adjoins the groove 21 below, which enables the tear-open tape 1 to be attached or pushed onto the edge of the container or over the rolled edge 13 of the container 3 without tools.
In the upper area, the outside of the band 15 is designed in a step-like manner, in such a way that the cover 5 provided with the tear tape 1 can be stacked. The conical section 23 engages in the chamfered section 27 and is centered there.
An annular tab 29 is also formed on the outside of the band 15 and lies in the immediate vicinity of at least one predetermined breaking point 31. The at least one predetermined breaking point 31 is formed by a series of perforations 33. In addition, the tear tape 1 is radially significantly tapered in the area of the predetermined breaking point (Fig. 5/6 and 18/19). In an advantageous embodiment, the perforations 33 are essentially in line with the outer edges 30 of the tab 29.
14 to 26, the tear-open tab 29 is not parallel to the jacket of the container 3, but parallel to the surface of the lid 5. Otherwise, the conditions are the same as in FIGS. 1 to 13. It is therefore also for the corresponding parts uses the same reference numerals.
The use of the tear tape 1 is explained below. The tear tape 1 produced in the injection molding process, as shown in FIG. 1 above, is pushed axially in the direction of arrow A onto the cover 5 until its rolled edge 7 engages in the groove 19. For shipping, several lids 5 equipped with tear tapes 1 can now be stacked one above the other (FIGS. 2, 15). When the container 3 is filled, these cover tear-open tape sets, as one of them is shown in FIGS. 3, 16 above, are pushed axially onto the filled container 3 until the rolled edge 13 of the container 3 has engaged in the groove 21 of the tear tape. The axial position of the groove 21 with respect to the cover 5 is selected such that the upper edge of the container 3 comes into sealing contact with the seal 11 in the cover 3 (FIGS. 4, 17).
The tear tape 1 hooks onto the rolled edge 13 of the container 3 in such a way that when the cover 5 is forcibly opened, the security tape tears along the predetermined breaking point 31. If the container 3 is opened regularly, the operator grasps the tab 29 and breaks the predetermined breaking point 31 by lifting the tab 29.
In addition to the conical section 23 at the lower end of the tear tape 1, such a conical section 24 can be formed between the two grooves 19 and 21 in order to achieve a smooth insertion or sliding onto the rolling edges 7 and 13, respectively. The diameter D1 is larger than the outside diameter of the rolled edge 13 on the container 3.
In the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 7 to 12 and 20 to 25, not only is the cover 5 placed on the opening of the container 3, but also an insert or an insert container 37 which receives the hardener, for example in the case of a two-component product. The insert 37 is essentially a very deep-reaching lid, which usually comprises a volume that is significantly less than that of the container 3. When the insert 37 is pushed into the container 3, it also serves as a lid for the contents of the container 3. The actual container cover 5 just closes the insert 37 (FIGS. 12 and 25).
The tear tape 1 is in turn formed like a tire and has a cylinder jacket-shaped tape outside 15 and an inside tape 17 with three circumferential grooves 19, 21 and 39. The groove 39 serves to receive the rolled edge 41 on the insert 37 and encloses the rolled edge 41 in the radial direction via an arc of approximately 180 °.
In contrast to the first exemplary embodiment, the tear tape 1 is preferably not placed on the rolled edge 7 of the cover 5 for transport, but rather on the rolled edge 41 of the insert 37. The groove 19 for the cover 5 and the groove 21 for the container 3 lie on top. or below the rolled edge 41. Several inserts 37 can thus be stacked one above the other for transport and are therefore provided with slightly conical walls. After the container 3 has been filled, the insert 37 with the tear tape 1 attached to it is placed on the container 3 and tightly connected to it by the tear tape 1.
The upper edge of the tear tape 1 for a two-component package can have an inwardly conical section 43 in order to simplify the insertion of the rolled edge 9 of the lid 5 from above and to ensure that the tear tape 1 is not already when it is pushed onto the lid 5 or the insert 37 or the container 3 tears along the predetermined breaking point 31.
After filling the insert 37, the cover 5 can finally be pushed open axially and fixed with respect to the other two containers 3 and 37 (cf. FIGS. 12 and 25).
Of course, the insert 37 can also be loaded for the time being and the cover 5 put on and then placed on the container 3 (FIGS. 11 and 24). As an alternative, it is possible to place the tear tape 1 on the cover 5 as in the first exemplary embodiment and finally push it over the container parts 3, 37 which have already been pushed into one another. The two-component container is opened analogously by gripping the tab 29 and tearing open the tear tape 1 along the predetermined breaking point 31.
