The invention relates to a device for processing a cup-shaped grinding wheel by means of a rotatable, sleeve-shaped or cup-shaped dressing tool, according to the preamble of claim 1.
A device of the aforementioned type is known from DE 2 104 623, with which grinding wheels with a convex or concave outer surface are to be dressed with a rotatable, bowl-shaped dressing tool such that the curvature of the dressed contour is independent of the diameter of the grinding wheel.
In contrast, the present invention is based on the object of improving a device of the type mentioned above in such a way that cup-shaped grinding wheels can be optimally machined with the least possible design effort.
The invention solves this problem in that the axis of rotation of the sleeve-shaped or cup-shaped dressing tool is aligned parallel to the axis of rotation of the grinding wheel and the sleeve edge of the dressing tool is aligned with a circumferential portion of the ring-shaped end faces for machining the end-face, annular grinding surface of the grinding wheel provided with a covering of abrasive material Grinding surface of the grinding wheel is arranged opposite. This makes it possible to plan the annular grinding surface of a cup-shaped grinding wheel with high accuracy and at the same time the least effort, because the sleeve-shaped dressing tool with its annular sleeve edge only has to be moved in the axial direction of its axis of rotation against the annular grinding surface of the grinding wheel.
The dependent claims contain expedient developments of the invention.
The invention is described below with reference to the schematic drawing of an embodiment. Show it:
Figure 1 shows a cup-shaped grinding wheel and a cup-shaped dressing tool of the device in a vertical section. and
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the working position of the cup-shaped dressing tool relative to the annular end face of the cup-shaped grinding wheel.
In Fig. 1, a cup-shaped grinding wheel 1 is shown, which has a truncated cone-like shape in the central longitudinal section and the bottom 2 of which is coaxially fastened to the outer end of a rotating spindle 3 and can be rotated in the direction of the arrow x about the central longitudinal axis of the rotating spindle 3. A grinding surface 4 of the grinding wheel 1 consists of a circular ring surface with a covering 5 made of abrasive material, e.g. a diamond-coated coating 5, which runs in a plane perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis of the rotating spindle 3. The annular grinding surface 4 of the covering 5 is opposite a dressing tool 6, which has the shape of a cylindrical sleeve, the bottom 7 of which is fastened to the outer end of a rotating spindle 8, which can be rotated in the direction of an arrow y about its central longitudinal axis.
The rotary spindle 8 is in the direction of the double arrow z, d. H. arranged to move back and forth in and against the direction of the grinding wheel 1, the central longitudinal axis of the rotating spindle 8 being exactly parallel to the central longitudinal axis of the rotating spindle 3 of the grinding wheel 1. The axis of rotation of the dressing tool 6 is arranged at a radial distance from the axis of rotation of the grinding wheel 1, which corresponds to the average radius of the annular grinding surface 4 of the grinding wheel 1. The dressing tool 6 is expediently provided with a grit, e.g. Silicon carbide, and a bond that is softer than the diamond coating and its bond on the grinding wheel 1.
The dressing coating on the dressing tool 6 is arranged on the circular, front-side sleeve edge 9 of the dressing tool 6, which lies opposite the annular grinding surface 4 of the grinding wheel 1.
The speed of the dressing tool 6 is expediently dimensioned to be lower than the speed of the grinding wheel 1. It is advisable to choose the speed ratio between the dressing tool 6 and the grinding wheel 1 in such a way that a cutting speed required for machining results. It was found that the speed of the dressing tool is advantageously in the range of 50-600 rpm and the cutting speed is advantageously in the range of 10-60 m / s.
It can be seen from the above description that the annular, front-side grinding surface 4 of the coating 5 of the grinding wheel 1 is machined perfectly by means of the axially adjustable, cup-shaped dressing tool 6, e.g. can be sharpened or ground, as can be seen in particular from the illustration in FIG. 2.
