It has been found that the monoazo disperse dyes of the formula I
EMI1.1
wherein
R optionally substituted phenyl or a group of the formula R min -O-,
R min C3-4-alkenyl, C3-4-alkynyl, phenyl or C1-8-alkyl carrying one or two substituents,
R1 is hydrogen or C1-2-alkyl,
R2 is hydrogen or halogen,
R3 is hydrogen or C1-3 alkyl and
R4 is hydrogen, optionally a linear or branched C1-8 alkyl group which carries a substituent or an amino group which optionally carries a substituent
mean, but the dyes are free from water-solubilizing groups, and their mixtures are excellent for dyeing or printing fibers or threads or materials made therefrom from fully or semi-synthetic, hydrophobic, organic substances.
If R is phenyl, e.g. Chlorine, -OCH3, -CH3 or NO2 may be substituted.
A suitable substituted amino group is e.g. -NHC6H5.
In formula I preferably mean
R unsubstituted phenyl or the group R min -O-,
R min C1-8-alkyl, preferably C1-4-alkyl, which carries a substituent from the series halogen and C1-4-alkoxy, phenyl, phenyl-C1-3-alkyl or phenoxy-C1-2-alkyl, where the Phenyl nuclei can carry a substituent from the series chlorine, bromine, nitro, C1-2-alkyl or C1-2-alkoxy, tetrahydrofurfuryl, C3-4-alkenyl, C3-4-alkynyl or 1-phenyl-propenyl,
R1 and R2 are hydrogen,
R3 methyl and
R4 is hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl or C1-4 alkoxy-C2-3 alkyl.
The dyes of the formula I and mixtures thereof are particularly preferred,
wherein
R is phenyl or
R min benzyl or phenoxyethyl, the rest Cl- (CH2) 4-,
R1 and R2 are hydrogen,
R3 methyl and
R4 is C1-6 alkyl or C1-4 alkoxypropyl.
Mixtures of the dyes of the formula I in which R4 is a straight-chain or branched C1-6-alkyl radical and the other symbols are as defined above are particularly preferred.
The alkyl radical is preferably not substituted. If substituents are present, they are preferably selected from the group formed by C6H5-, CI or -OCOCH3.
These dyes are either prepared by coupling a diazotized amine of the formula II
EMI3.1
with an amine of the formula
EMI3.2
or by condensation of a compound of formula IV
EMI3.3
with a compound of formula V
EMI4.1
Diazotization and coupling are carried out according to generally known methods.
Halogen is generally understood to mean fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine, preferably chlorine or bromine, in particular chlorine.
The condensation of the compounds of formula IV with those of formula V is also carried out in a manner familiar to the person skilled in the art, preferably in an organic solvent and in the presence of a basic compound which binds the hydrogen halide formed.
The compounds of the formulas II to V are known or can be easily prepared in a manner familiar to the person skilled in the art.
The processing of the new compounds of formula 1 into dyeing preparations is carried out in a generally known manner, e.g. by grinding in the presence of dispersants and / or fillers. With the preparations, which may have been dried in vacuo, by atomization or in a fluidized bed granulator, it is possible, after adding more or less water, to dye, pad or print in a so-called long or short liquor.
The dyes or mixtures absorb excellently from aqueous suspension onto textile material made from fully synthetic or semi-synthetic, hydrophobic, high-molecular organic substances. They are particularly suitable for dyeing or printing textile material from linear, aromatic polyesters, as well as from cellulose-2 1/2 acetate and cellulose triacetate.
One dyes or prints according to known, e.g. the methods described in French Patent No. 1,445,371.
The dyeings obtained have good general fastness properties; In addition to the good thermal migration fastness, the light fastness, heat-setting, sublimation and pleating fastness and the excellent wet fastnesses (determined in particular according to the M&S C4 A washing method), in particular after thermal treatment, are to be emphasized.
The new dyes and mixtures are also ideal for modern rapid dyeing processes, such as the <TM> Foron RD process.
The new dyes are also suitable for modern recording processes, e.g. "thermal transfer printing".
In the following examples, parts are parts by weight and percentages are percentages by weight. The temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
example 1
28.1 parts of 4-amino-benzoic acid (1-carbobenzyloxy) methyl ester are stirred in 30 parts of water and 30 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid for 2 hours and after the addition of 30 parts of ice at 5-10 ° C. with 22 parts of a 4n sodium nitrite solution added. After adding a further 30 parts of ice and stirring for 30 minutes, the slight excess of nitrous acid is destroyed with amidosulfonic acid and the resulting diazonium salt solution is filtered clear. The cold, clear-filtered diazonium salt solution is now slowly adjusted to a solution of 21 parts of N-butyl-3-cyano-4-methyl-pyridone-2 in 110 parts, adjusted to pH 7-7.5 and mixed with a small amount of seed crystals of the dye of the formula I. Water is metered in, the temperature range from 15-20 ° by the addition of ice and the pH range from 3-5 by the addition of sodium acetate being maintained during the coupling.
After stirring for 2 hours, the resulting yellow suspension is filtered off and the filter cake is washed in portions with 300 parts of water at 50 ° C. until neutral and salt-free. The raw dye dried in a vacuum at 60 ° C. can be recrystallized for further purification or further purified by column chromatography (eluent: toluene / - methyl methyl ketone).
In this way, the dye of formula I is obtained
EMI6.1
the PES fibers (PES 100%, as well as PES / cotton blended fabrics) dye in brilliant, greenish yellow tones with very good fastness properties, especially wet fastness properties after heat setting (180 °, 30 min).
lambda max (DIF): 433 nm.
Example 2
43.4 parts of the dye of formula 2 with a titer of 95%
EMI6.2
obtained by diazotization of p-aminobenzoic acid in dilute hydrochloric acid with 4n-nitrite solution and coupling to the coupling component of Example 1, is suspended in 125 parts of dimethylformamide with the addition of 30.5 parts of anhydrous K2CO3. 28 parts of benzyl monochloroacetate are then added dropwise at 60-65 ° and the yellow reaction suspension is stirred for 30 minutes. After dilution with 500 parts of 95% ethyl alcohol and cooling to 15-20 ° C., the precipitated dye is filtered off with suction and washed with 200 parts of 95% ethyl alcohol at 10-15 ° C. and then with 500 parts of water at 60 ° C.
The dye dried in vacuo at 60 ° C. is structurally identical to that of Example 1 and can also be unicrystallized for purification or purified by column chromatography (eluent: toluene / methyl methyl ketone).
Example 3
Instead of 28.1 parts of 4-amino-benzoic acid (1-carbobenzyloxy) methyl ester in Example 1, 28.5 parts of the amine of formula 3 are used
EMI7.1
and otherwise proceeds as described in Example 1, a dye of the formula 4 is obtained after working up
EMI7.2
which also dyes PES fibers (PES 100%, such as PES / cotton (Bw) blended fabrics in brilliant greenish yellow tones with very good fastness properties, in particular wet fastness properties after heat setting (180 °, 30 min)).
The following Table 1 shows further dyes of the formula I which can be prepared analogously to the information in the preceding examples. R is always R min -O-,
R1 is always hydrogen with the exception of Examples 41 and 42 where it means methyl. Unless otherwise stated, all alkyl residues are straight-chain.
R2 is always hydrogen,
R3 is always methyl.
All dyes dye polyester fiber material in yellow tones with very good fastness properties.

Example 45
25.5 parts of 4-amino-benzoic acid (1-benzoyl) methyl ester are stirred vigorously in 30 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid and after addition of 25 parts of ice and 25 parts of water at 5-10 ° C. within 30 minutes with a solution of 3.8 parts of sodium nitrite in 15 parts of water. The mixture is stirred for 2 hours at 15-20 °, the small excess of nitrous acid is destroyed with sulfamic acid and the mixture is filtered clear. The resulting diazonium salt solution is then continuously stirred with a mixture of 9.7 parts of n-propyl or 10.3 parts of n-butyl-3-cyano-4-methyl-pyridone-2 in 100 parts of water of pH 7.5 added, the coupling temperature of 15-20 ° is maintained by sprinkling in a little ice and a pH> 4 by adding about 5 parts of sodium acetate.
After stirring for 2 hours, the pH is adjusted to 5 with 30% sodium hydroxide solution, the mixture is warmed to about 75 ° C., stirred for 1 hour and filtered. The yellow filter cake is washed in portions with warm water until salt-free and dried in vacuo at 60 °.
The dye obtained corresponds to the formula
EMI10.2
and dyes polyester fiber material in brilliant, greenish yellow tambour lambda max = 433 (DMF) Ê with excellent fastness properties, especially excellent wet fastness properties after heat setting (180 ° / 30 min).
In the following Table 2 are further, e.g. yellow dyes which can be prepared according to Example 43 are given. They correspond to the formula
EMI11.1
Coloring example
17.5 parts of the dye according to Example 1 are wet-ground in the form of the moist press cake with 32.5 parts of a commercially available dispersant based on lignin sulfonates and atomized to a powder. 1.2 parts of this dyeing preparation are introduced into 2000 parts of demineralized water at 70 °, which contains 40 parts of ammonium sulfate; the pH of the dyebath is adjusted to 5 with 85% formic acid. 100 parts of cleaned polyester fiber fabric are placed in this dyebath, the apparatus is closed, heated to 130 ° in the course of 20 minutes and dyed at this temperature for a further 40 minutes. After cooling, the polyester fiber fabric is removed from the dyebath, rinsed, soaped and reductively cleaned in the usual manner with sodium hydrosulfite.
This gives a brilliant yellow color with very good general fastness properties, in particular light and sublimation fastnesses and, above all, excellent wet fastnesses after heat setting (180 °, 30 min). The dyes of Examples 2 to 61 can be used in an analogous manner and brilliant yellow colorations with very good general fastness properties can be obtained.
