- Fig. 1.1 einen Schnitt nach Linie A-A in Fig. 1,
- Fig. 1.2 einen Schnitt nach Linie B-B in Fig. 1 und
- Fig. 2.1 einen teilweise Axialschnitt durch die Kühlspirale.
Destillationsrückstand-Ablaufrohr (11) in angeflanschte Gefässe.
The invention relates to a spiral spiral falling film evaporator, hereinafter referred to as helix evaporator, according to the preamble of claims 1 to 3.
The mode of operation of such evaporators is based on the physical principle of evaporation or degassing of liquids with a short residence time on heated surfaces, hereinafter referred to as evaporator surfaces.
The continuous working technique is necessary for the evaporation of solutions, e.g. Reaction solutions with thermolabile liquid substances or liquid evaporation residues. Such solutions can be processed gently with the new Helix evaporator over the entire evaporation time, with a constant minimum retention time and minimum temperature. This is the decisive advantage compared to the rotary evaporators usually used in chemical and physical laboratory and pilot plant technology with the evaporation residue in the distillation flask lasting for minutes to hours. Decomposition products can be formed by the long thermal load on the evaporation residue, such as raw products or pure products.
These by-products often affect the quality and yield of intermediate and end products.
In extreme cases, the accumulated evaporation residue in the distillation flask of the rotary evaporator can spontaneously decompose due to the constant heating.
In comparison to the Helix evaporator, thermally gentle evaporation, distillation or degassing is only possible with thin-film evaporators with rotating wiper systems, which are much more complex in terms of equipment and personnel.
The object of the invention is to eliminate these disadvantages. This is achieved with the helical evaporators according to the invention, FIGS. 1 to 3, which have a particularly compact design. The outstanding advantages of these evaporators, compared to the existing rotary evaporators and thin-film evaporators, are the optimal thin-layer distribution of the feed product achieved with the evaporator spiral, without complex and fault-prone moving apparatus components, the evaporation or distillation or degassing practically without pressure loss and working with minimal thermal Exposure or dwell time of small portions of the feed product and the liquid evaporation or distillation residue due to the dosage of the feed product.
The handy Helix vaporizers are thanks to their flexible and easy to use and their optimal function, also with regard to high operational and occupational safety, very useful and efficient apparatus for efficient work technology.
The novel constructive solution consists in the helical evaporator according to the invention of claims 1 to 3. Preferred embodiments result from the dependent claims.
Three exemplary embodiments of the helical evaporator according to the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. Show it:
1 to 3 each show a partial axial section through the three exemplary embodiments of the helical evaporator in the schematic representation customary for such devices,
1.1 shows a section along line A-A in FIG. 1,
1.2 shows a section along line B-B in FIGS. 1 and
2.1 shows a partial axial section through the cooling spiral.
The helix evaporator shown in Fig. 1 consists of an evaporator tube (1) which is fused, welded or soldered on the inner wall with a flat profile spiral spiral (helix) (2) or a round profile helix, subsequently fused, melted or called arranged. The heating jacket tube (3) is fused coaxially below and above with the outer wall of the evaporator tube (1). The heat transfer inlet connection (4) and the heat transfer outlet connection (5) above are melted tangentially and towards the rear with the bead-shaped ends at the bottom. The feed tube (6) and the vapor tube (7) are arranged diametrically on the one side of the upper part of the evaporator tube (1) in the vertical-axial view plane.
The melting cross-section of the feed tube (6) on the evaporator tube (1) has a flush opening (9) at the bottom and a splash protection tube surface (10) from the evaporator tube (1) at the top. In a preferred embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention, a temperature measuring connector (8) is expediently melted onto the vapor tube (7) and a cooling finger connector (17) is coaxially melted onto the upper part of the evaporator tube (1). The lower part of the evaporator tube (1) ends with the distillation residue drain pipe (11) through which the distillation residue or evaporation residue runs into a coolable vessel, for example.
The pitch angle (12) of the flat profile helix (2) is preferably approximately 10 °, but can be approximately 5-30 ° depending on the evaporator size, evaporator diameter and or viscosity of the processing liquids.
The upper melting angle (13) between the evaporator tube (1) and the flat profile helix (2) is preferably approximately 25 °, but can be approximately 5-45 ° depending on the evaporator size or diameter.
The ratio of the horizontal helix flat profile width (14) to the inside width (15) of the flat profile helix (2) is preferably approximately 1: 2, but can be approximately 1: 1 to approximately 1: 5, depending on the evaporator size or flow rate.
Instead of the external condensation of the vapors, these can also be condensed according to the principle of short-path distillation, on a cooling finger (16 / Fig. 2) inserted in the cooling finger socket (17) or on a cooling spiral (Fig. 2.1). The distillate or the distillation residue runs analogously to FIG. 2 via distillate drain pipe (18) or distillation residue drain pipe (11) into flanged vessels. With this working method, the vapor tube (7) can be used as a vacuum nozzle or closed with an end cap.
The helical evaporator shown in FIG. 2 with a cooling finger (16) or cooling spiral (FIG. 2.1) melted or insertable coaxially at the top corresponds to that of FIG. 1 with regard to the evaporator construction and function.
In the helix evaporator Fig. 2, the liquid vapors are condensed directly on the melted-on cooling finger (16) or inserted in the cooling finger socket (17 / Fig. 2.1) and collected in the flanged vessel via the distillate drain pipe (18). This is in contrast to the helical evaporator Fig. 1, in which the liquid vapors are condensed outside the evaporator via vapor tube (7). Instead of the cooling finger (16), a cooling spiral (Fig. 2.1) can also be melted on or inserted through a coaxially melted cooling finger socket (17 / Fig. 2.1). The distillation residue or evaporation residue runs through the distillation residue drain pipe (11), which is melted on the side at the lower end of the evaporator tube (1), into a flanged-on vessel.
The distillation residue drain pipe (11) melted on the side of the bottom of the evaporator tube (1), with the distillate drain pipe (18) fused to it, can also be connected, for example, with a tapered joint between the evaporator tube (1) and the distillation residue drain pipe (11) .
In the variant in FIG. 2, the often known and therefore unnecessary vapor temperature cannot be measured, in contrast to the variants in FIG. 1 and FIG. 3 with temperature measuring spigot (8).
The ratio of the horizontal helix flat profile width (14) to the cooling finger or cooling spiral distance (19) is preferably approximately 1: 0.6, but can be increased to approximately 1: 1.5 depending on the evaporator size or throughput.
The helical evaporator shown in FIG. 3 corresponds to that of FIGS. 1 and 2 with regard to the evaporator design and function.
In contrast to the embodiment in FIG. 2, the cooling finger (16) or the cooling spiral (FIG. 2.1) is coaxially melted with the distillate drain pipe (18) on the evaporator bottom. Since the cooling finger (16) or the cooling spiral (Fig. 2.1) ends below the upper evaporation zone, the distillation temperature can be measured via the temperature measuring connection (8).
The distillation residue drain pipe (11), which is melted on the side of the bottom of the evaporator tube (1), with a vertically coaxial melted and diametrically angled distillate drain pipe (18), with a coaxially melted cooling finger (16) or cooling coil (Fig. 2.1), can also be used with a Tapered joint between the evaporator tube (1) and the distillation residue drain pipe (11) are connected.
For the variant in FIG. 3, the ratio numbers with respect to the helix flat profile width (14) to the cooling finger or cooling spiral distance (19) are analogous to that of FIG. 2.
The ratio of the clear width of the evaporator tube (1) to the effective evaporator height is preferably approximately 1: 2.5 for the variants FIG. 1 to FIG. 3, but can vary between approximately 1: 1 and approximately 1: 5 depending on the throughput.
The helix evaporators described can be used at atmospheric pressure and in vacuo up to about 10 <-> <5> mbar. In the model of Fig. 1, carrier gas can be introduced via evaporation residue drain pipe (11) to accelerate evaporation or degassing. Preferred carrier gases are, for example, nitrogen, argon and carbon dioxide.
The models 1 to 3, which are preferably made of borosilicate glass 3.3, can also be used for other distillation separation processes in addition to continuous evaporation and degassing.
The models Fig. 2 and 3 are particularly well suited for the thermally gentle short path and molecular distillation because the steam molecules are condensed on the adjacent cooling finger (16) or on the cooling spiral (Fig. 2.1) after a very short distance. In the case of model 3, the distillation temperature can also be measured very easily via the temperature measuring connection (8), compared to the commercially available apparatus with rotating wiper systems, in which only the heating medium temperature can be measured.
Thermostable solutions with liquid or solid substances or evaporation residues can also be conventionally evaporated batchwise with the models Fig. 1 to 3. The feed product is heated, for example in a round-bottom flask which is flanged to the distillation residue drain pipe (11), and the volatile components are distilled off.
The model Fig. 1 can also be used as a fractionation column for batch distillation of thermostable substances. The feed product is heated, for example, in a round-bottomed flask which is flanged to the distillation residue drain pipe (11), and the fractions are distilled off via vapor tube (7).
In addition to the various types of distillation, the helical evaporators FIGS. 1 to 3 are also suitable as easy-to-use continuous reactors. This is particularly the case in research and development laboratories for the continuous process control of exothermic reactions, e.g. Nitriding, sulfonating or chlorosulfonating, with thermolabile liquid and gaseous starting materials and or products. With the short-term thermal exposure of small amounts of the reactants, occupational safety is guaranteed even in the event of decomposition of, for example, nitro and oxinitro compounds through autoxidation. Another advantage is the use for reactions, e.g. Condensation and saponification, in which volatile components are formed.
Since these condense on the cooling finger (16) or on the cooling spiral (Fig. 2.1) or are continuously withdrawn from the reaction solution, the reaction rate and the quality of the reaction product can be positively influenced.
The helical evaporators according to the invention can be manufactured and used in various sizes. They are preferably made of borosilicate glass 3.3, with a wall thickness of about 1-5 mm, but can also be made of quartz glass, steel or other metals. In order to prevent photolytic decomposition, helical evaporators with externally browned borosilicate glass 3.3 are produced for light-sensitive substances. The standard taper grindings and threaded connections indicated in the drawings FIGS. 1 to 3 are preferred exemplary embodiments. In general, however, ball and face grindings as well as screw connections such as glass threaded connector Rd 14 or GL 14 or metal screw connections can also be attached to the various connectors as glass and metal connection connections.
The models Fig. 1 to 3 made of borosilicate glass 3.3 are suitable for multifunctional use in research and development laboratories, with practical sizes of about 300 mm overall height, with an outer diameter of about 40-70 mm, a spiral length of about 550-1100 mm and an evaporator area of about 20-40 cm <2>. Depending on the distillation temperature, around 200-500 ml of substances can be distilled off per hour with these models.
The new Helix evaporators meet the requirements regarding universal applicability, optimal function, rational work technology and high work safety, which are necessary for laboratory and pilot plant technology in the chemical industry and in training centers.
