Ambito tecnico

In fig.
Technical area
The present invention relates to an intimate item of clothing, with at least a portion made of fabric, and is proposed in the technical context of protecting the human body from electromagnetic radiation.
Prior art
With the increasing spread of telecommunications equipment, computers, electronic instruments and other sources of electromagnetic emissions, the problem of protecting the human body from unwanted effects caused by intense and prolonged exposure to magnetic fields has emerged.
The problem of the harmful effects of these electromagnetic emissions is particularly felt for those parts of the body that contain important glandular structures, such as the genital organs and the sinuses.
Secretarial staff, frequently female, who work with video terminals, are particularly exposed to the risk of the effects of these electromagnetic radiation. These people are more exposed to the risk of breast cancer.
To mitigate the harmful effects of electromagnetic radiation, screens and protections have been developed to date with the function of a filter; for example, fabrics capable of constituting at least partial shielding with electromagnetic emissions of particular frequency and wavelength are known in the textile field.
It is also known to make garments such as overalls, aprons or gowns with these fabrics which allow, when worn, to shield parts of the human body from electromagnetic waves.
Such garments, if made to be worn over ordinary clothes, are however not practical to wear, particularly in normal office work.
Furthermore, the hygienic aspect, which is most felt in the case in which garments of this type are made, for example in the form of gowns to be worn as an alternative to ordinary clothes, should not be forgotten.
The purpose of the invention is to provide a garment with shielding characteristics against electromagnetic waves and at the same time capable of overcoming the drawbacks complained of with reference to the known prior art.
Description of the invention
This object is achieved by the invention by means of an intimate garment of the indicated type, characterized in that in said portion the fabric comprises an interlacing of non-conductive threads and conductive threads, said conductive threads being intertwined with each other to form a network of fixed mesh.
Advantageously, the intimate garment thus conceived lends itself to be worn as a traditional intimate garment, with the same practicality and the same aesthetic impact but capable of effective shielding against electromagnetic waves limited to the most delicate parts of the body , such as the genitals and sinuses.
Another advantage is due to the fact that such an item of clothing is normally worn continuously, thus ensuring a constant protective action on the organism.
Brief description of the drawings
Further advantages and characteristics of the invention will become clearer from the detailed description that follows of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment thereof, illustrated only by way of non-limitative example with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
fig. 1 is a perspective view of a bra according to the present invention;
fig. 2 is a perspective view on an enlarged scale and in partial section of a detail of the bra in fig. 1;
the fig. 3 and 4 are perspective views and with separate parts of a detail of fig. 2;
fig. 5 is an enlarged perspective view of a detail of figs. 3 and 4;
fig. 6 is a perspective view of the bra in fig. 1;
the fig. 6 and 8 are perspective views and in partial section of a detail of fig. 6.
Preferred way of carrying out the invention
In fig. 1, 1 indicates as a whole an item of underwear, according to the present invention, having the typical conformation of a bra. It is understood that different garments such as bodies, corsets, underpants and the like can be made with the same structure.
The bra 1 comprises two cups 2, 3 joined to a lap-bust 4.
Each cup 2, 3 is made of a fabric 5 on which opposite surfaces 5a, b are identified.
The fabric 5 comprises an interweaving of weft and warp threads formed with conductive threads 6 and with non-conductive threads 7.
The conductive threads 6 are incorporated in the fabric 5 so as to form a net, indicated by 9, of a pre-established mesh 8.
Preferably the conductive threads 6 comprise one or more stainless steel filaments (of the AUSTENITIC type), simple or intertwined with textile fibers. Preferably, the mesh has a square or rectangular shape with a side between 1 and 4 mm, to shield radiation of frequencies between 250 and 18000 MHz.
Each surface 5a, b of the fabric 5 is covered with a further fabric 10, 11, made with non-conductive threads 7 and constituting respectively internal and external coating of each cup 2, 3.
The fabric 5 incorporating the net 9 is surrounded, along a perimeter band of each cup 2, 3 by a continuous seam 12, made with the conductive thread 6.
Through this seam 12 an electrical connection is established between the perimeter mesh 8 of the net 9.
The girdle 4 comprises two bands 14, 15, each of which is connected, at one end, to the corresponding cup 2, 3 and has respective flaps 16, 17 at the opposite end. On each flap 16, 17 are fixed respectively first and second elements 18, 19 of a rear bra lacing device 20.
The elements 18, 19 consist respectively of a hook formation and of a ring, of a traditional type in itself, made of metallic material.
Seams, indicated with 14a, of conductive wire 6 are made on the band 14 of the torso 4, through which an electrical connection is established between each fastening element 18 and the seam 12 surrounding the cup 2.
Similarly, seams 15a of conductive wire 6 are made on the band 15, through which an electrical connection is established between each lacing element 19 and the seam 12 surrounding the cup 3.
In the flap 16 a conductive panel 20 is incorporated, electrically connected with the fastening elements 19 and positioned so as to be in direct contact with the skin, with the bra 1 worn.
Alternatively, the panel 20 can be replaced by a portion of fabric 5, covering the flap 16, in which the conductive wires 6 are electrically connected with the fastening elements 19 and are arranged in such a way as to be in direct contact with the skin .
With the bra 1 worn, a shielding against electromagnetic waves is provided through the metal net 9, in which the shielding effect varies with the frequency and wavelength, depending on the mesh 8.
With an 8 mesh with a 2 mm side, an effective shielding effect is obtained in the field of radio frequencies, in particular the frequencies in use for radio telephones (900 MHz).
When the bra 1 is worn and the lacing elements 18, 19 are closed, the metal net 9 of each cup 2, 3 is electrically connected to the body (earth) by means of the panel 20 placed in direct contact with the skin. In this way the charge accumulations on the nets 9 are canceled and the electrical charge accumulations present on the breasts of the person wearing the bra are uniformed.
Among the advantages of the invention, in addition to those already mentioned, there is the fact that the particular mechanical characteristics of the steel used for the conductive wires allow a limited and controlled deformability of the bra cups, as the body and external temperature vary, contributing in the at the same time to a containment effect of the forms.
The shielding effect produced by the wire mesh of conductive wires can also be varied by providing more or less dense meshes.
Finally, it is possible to use the conductive fabric of the present invention to make parts of other underwear, such as men's and women's briefs, bustiers, "bodies" and the like, all falling within the scope of the same inventive concept.
