Abstract

The flexible unit, for example an arm band, is composed of several contiguous elements connected and joined to one another by: a rigid central support blockbearing four parallel protruding pins (2', 12') and a passing hole (2'', 12''), either threaded or not, essentially perpendicular to the plane containing the axes of said pins (2', 12'); two connection plaques (3) each bearing two holes (3', 3'') having a diameter equal to that of above-mentioned pins (2', 12') and capable of connecting two contiguous central blocks (2, 12) by the insertion into two above-mentioned holes (3', 3'') of two pins (2', 12') of which one (2') belongs to central block (2) and the other (12') belongs to contiguous central block (12); in which unit each of elements (1, 11) bears a threaded blind hole (1', 11') into which an attachment screw is screwed that is capable of going through above-mentioned passing hole (2'', 12'') of central block (2, 12), thus fastening each element (1, 11) its respective central support block (2, 12).

Folding assembly particularly suitable for objects such as straps, bracelets, earrings, pendants, consisting of several elements (1, 11) and connecting means (2, 3, 12) designed to connect two contiguous elements (1, 11) allowing them relative rotation, characterized in that said connecting means (2, 3, 12) are fixed to the aforesaid elements (1, 11) exclusively by means of fixing members (4) which pass totally or only through said elements (1, 11) or only said connecting means (2, 3, 12).

2. Assembly according to claim 1 wherein said connecting means between two contiguous elements (1, 11) consist of: (fig. 1.)

- a rigid central block (2, 12) supporting four protruding parallel pins (2 ', 12') and a through hole (2 ", 12"), threaded or not, substantially perpendicular to the plane containing the axes of said pins (2 ', 12');

- two connecting plates (3) each having two holes (3 ', 3 ") having a diameter equal to that of the aforesaid pins (2', 12 ') and suitable for connecting two contiguous central blocks (2, 12) by means of the insertion of two pins (2 ', 12') within the two said holes (3 ', 3 "), one of which belongs to a central block and the other to the contiguous central block; and in which together each of the elements (1, 11) has a threaded blind hole (1 ', 11') in which a fixing screw (4) is screwed, suitable to cross the said through hole (2 ", 12") of a central block (2, 12), thus fixing each element (1, 11) to the corresponding central support block (2, 12).

3. Assembly according to claim 1 wherein said connecting means between two adjacent elements (1, 11) consist of: (fig. 2)

- a rigid central block (2, 12) supporting four parallel pins (2 ', 12') and a blind hole (2 '", 12'") threaded, substantially perpendicular to the plane containing the axes of said pins (2 ', 12');

- two connecting plates (3) each having two holes (3 ', 3 ") having a diameter equal to that of the aforesaid pins (2', 12 ') and suitable for connecting two contiguous central blocks (2, 12) by means of the insertion of two pins (2 ', 12') within the two said holes (3 ', 3 "), one of which belongs to a central block and the other to the contiguous central block; and in which together each of the elements (1, 11) has a through hole (1 ', 11'), threaded or not, in which a fixing screw (4) is screwed, suitable to cross the said through hole (1 ', 11 ') of an element (1, 11) and screwed into said threaded blind hole (2' ", 12" ') of a central support block (2, 12).

Assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein in each of the elements (1, 11) are formed recesses (1 ", 11") of shape and size suitable to contain the ends of the said connecting plates (3) in so that, once the various components have been assembled, the plates (3) themselves cannot come off the respective pins (2 ', 12').
