Beschreibung description
Stand der Technik. State of the art.
With conventional loudspeaker systems with acoustically closed loudspeaker housings, the problem arises that a small housing volume greatly impairs the bass reproduction. In the case of a small housing, gas pressure forces caused by changes in the internal volume affect the movement of the sound-emitting loudspeaker diaphragm. The changes in the internal volume are caused by the movements of the membrane. The resulting pressure forces hinder the deflection of the membrane and, as spring forces, increase the resonance frequency and the quality of the system.
In order to achieve good low-frequency reproduction, unwieldy housings are either used, or the electrical signals that drive the loudspeakers are corrected, or the radiating loudspeaker membranes are directly integrated into corrective control loops. The latter two measures themselves cause acoustic falsifications, in particular impulse behavior is impaired.
Furthermore, methods are known (Tiefenbrun; US Pat. 4,008,374) which achieve an effective enlargement of the interior volume of the housing by the action of an internal speaker membrane. With this method, however, the problem is shifted to the internal speaker. Large volumes are required to achieve good results. In addition, distortions arise due to phase differences in the movements of the two loudspeaker diaphragms and due to transit times.
The invention according to the claims enables largely unimpeded low-frequency reproduction when using small housings and large-area loudspeakers, the radiating loudspeakers or the signals driving them not being directly influenced.
The object is achieved by the device according to claim 1. The device is characterized in that the differences between the gas pressure inside the housing and the time-averaged gas pressure in the outside space of the housing caused by the deflections of the radiating loudspeaker membrane due to changes in the internal volume are greatly reduced by the action of a control circuit.
Differences between the internal pressure and the external pressure are recorded by means of gas pressure sensors and reduced by the effect of pressure regulation. This pressure difference is reduced by the movements of a membrane adjacent to the internal volume of an electrodynamic transducer arranged inside the housing, which works as a member of a control loop. A controller processes the electrical signal, which describes the pressure differences. Using a downstream power amplifier, the controller stimulates the membrane of the internal electrodynamic converter to make movements that greatly reduce the pressure differences that occur. A PI, a PID or a status controller is preferably used as the controller. The state controller processes all relevant pressure variables, in addition the state variables of the internal membrane, such as deflection, speed and acceleration.
Beschreibung der Zeichnung. Description of the drawing.
The figure shows the device according to claim 1. The external loudspeaker LA is driven directly by the input signal e (t). The electrodynamic converter TR is integrated in a control loop, which further consists of the pressure sensor P, the subtractor D, the controller R and the power amplifier A. A signal is supplied to the subtractor as a setpoint, which signal is proportional to the time average of the external pressure. The duration of the averaging is long compared to the longest signal period, e.g. B. 100 seconds. The output signal of the sensor P, which is proportional to the gas pressure in the interior V1, is applied to the inverting input of the subtractor. The controller is dimensioned in such a way that the control deviation, and thus the pressure difference, is kept as small as possible.
