Beschreibung description
The invention relates to a fat-free skin protection agent based on an oil-in-water emulsion with cosmetic and therapeutic applicability, in particular the invention relates to a skin protection agent in the form of creams and ointments, which provides long-lasting protection of the skin against water and harmful irritants guarantees how they occur in households, hospitals, industrial plants, etc. In addition to protecting the skin from damaging environmental influences and also preventing allergic contact reactions, the skin protection agent is particularly used to protect the hands when working with alkalis as well as industrial oils, motor oils etc. and in the hairdressing industry.
It is generally known that a large number of chemical substances trigger allergic reactions when they come into contact with the skin. These substances act as haptens by reacting with the body's own proteins, creating a full antigen that causes sensitization of the organism, the result of which, when the person concerned comes into contact with the substance again, is the allergic reaction. Since allergic and inflammatory reactions play an important role among occupational diseases, in households, businesses and industry, various protective measures have long been provided. In addition to the well-known protective clothing, rubber gloves and others, various skin protection ointments, creams or lotions can also be used, which are mainly based on physicochemical principles, depending on the hydrophilic or hydrophobic nature of the lipophilic or lipophobic pollutants penetrating the skin Hinder skin. Other preparations work by maintaining the protective function of the skin's buffer coating by buffering or by reducing the permeability of the skin to pollutants by tanning the skin. To protect against heavy metal ions, e.g. Chromate, the possibility of complex formation or binding to ion exchange resins is also used.
Verdicker eingesetzt werden (EP-A 268 950). In addition, in some patents specific protection against certain pollutants is sought, for example to protect against formaldehyde (now widely used) the addition of urea (DE-OS 2 847 974). Furthermore, skin protection ointments or lotions are recommended against substances that have a dermatologically toxic effect in the aqueous phase, the polymers or copolymers based on polydimethylsiloxane, their derivatives or copolymers are recommended, water-soluble resins, acrylates, carboxyvinyl polymers, vinyl esters, vinyl acetates, vinyl pyrrolidone and waxes being used in some cases Thickeners are used (EP-A 268 950). Rubber-like substances have also already been discussed for the use of substances in film-forming skin coatings.
Since there is a risk of skin irritation with such high polymers, however, their use for long-term use is prohibited. In addition, such components can result in non-drying, greasy coatings.
Furthermore, stearate creams (vanishing creams) are generally mentioned in the literature. Such fat-free skin creams of the stearate type consist of substances which do not visibly grease the skin, e.g. Stearic acid. The term "fat-free" therefore takes more account of the effect of the preparation. Although these grease-free creams provide the skin with an invisible and not very sensitive coating, their disadvantage is their low stability, which can only be improved with certain additives (alginates, cellulose derivatives, etc.). Similarly, oil lotions, the majority of which are petroleum jelly, also have disadvantages; Although petroleum jelly is known as the simplest protection against aqueous solutions, special additives are required to reduce the main disadvantage of these products, the stickiness, and to reduce the heat-accumulating effect of the petroleum jelly. It is known that, for example, petrolatum forms a barrier layer on the horny layer of the skin, which prevents the water from escaping to the outside.
While the known vaseline-containing preparations form a water-impermeable film on the skin, the addition of silicone oils increases the water-repellent effect of the O / W emulsions of the known skin protection preparations. Such water-free protective preparations thus have undesirable properties, such as stickiness, poor removability, perforation of the film and the masking effect, which adversely affects natural skin breathing to a large extent. Another disadvantage of all these known solutions is that they do not meet the requirements, which are placed in particular on special commercial protective creams.
Rather, good protective preparations must be able both to achieve a good gliding effect on the skin and to reduce the swelling of the skin and to guarantee unimpeded skin breathing without impairing the desired protective effect on the skin.
From a chemical point of view, a skin protection agent must also be absolutely non-toxic and have no effect on the skin. In doing so, substances that may be present on the skin, such as sweat, soaps, perfumes or urine in children, must not be affected. Such a product must not reduce the effect of therapeutic substances applied locally to the skin.
From a physical point of view, the skin protection agent must be easy to spread on the skin at normal temperature. It must also adhere firmly to the skin without preventing natural skin breathing and be stable over a wide range of temperatures.
The aim of the invention was therefore to provide a skin protection agent of the O / W emulsion type with a protective effect against damaging external chemical influences and mechanical stress, through which the penetration of fats, mineral oils, alkalis and their solutions

gen, beispielsweise beim Arbeiten als Mechaniker, Handwerker oder als Friseur in die Haut verhindert wird. in the skin, for example when working as a mechanic, craftsman or hairdresser.
Another object of the invention was to provide a skin protection agent whose composition combines optimal water evaporation with an optimal skin protection effect for a long time.
Another object of the invention was to provide skin protection compositions which give protection which is effective on the skin in the long term without having any occlusive effects.
Another object of the invention was to provide permanent skin protection agents which, from a physiological point of view, give a long-lasting soft and supple feeling on the skin.
It has now been found - and this is the solution to the problem - that the conventional skin protection products available on the market can be significantly improved and a well-adhering, stable skin film of a protective agent for preventing skin damage caused by aqueous solutions, which protects for a long time even under work-related, mechanical stress, can be achieved in particular by alkalis, alkaline detergents and cleaning agents, industrial oils and motor oils if skin protection agents based on a certain qualitative mixture of petroleum jelly and partially neutralized stearic acid are added to a special mixture of a film loosening agent and a hydrophobizing agent.
The invention is based on the knowledge that a formulation of a certain ratio of partially saponified stearic acid and petroleum jelly as well as a hydrophobizing agent and film loosening agent according to claim 1 results in a skin protection agent, the protective effect of which is largely selective. The individual components potentiate the protective effect insofar as the properties of the skin protection agent according to the invention are completely different from different combinations of the individual components in qualitative than in quantitative terms.
The invention therefore relates to a skin protection agent in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion containing stearate, petroleum jelly, emulsifiers and water and also conventional additives, which is characterized in that it consists of a) 10-25% by weight in part neutralized stearic acid b) 8-25% by weight of petroleum jelly c) 2-5% by weight of a hydrophobizing agent and d) 3-10% by weight of a fat film loosening agent in demineralized water in addition to any fragrances and / or preservatives as additives .
The term “film loosening agent” for the purposes of the invention is to be understood as meaning the substances faresol, squalene, isostearyl alcohol and / or methylstearic acid triglyceride, alone or in a mixture. The amount used is 3-10% by weight, preferably 3-6% by weight.
The further constituent of the skin protection agent according to the invention, which is referred to as a "water repellent", comprises Zinc, magnesium or aluminum salts of lauric, myristic and stearic acid, individually or in a mixture, the proportion of these substances added being 2-5% by weight, preferably 3-5% by weight.
It has been shown that a small addition of hydrophobizing agent in conjunction with a relatively small amount of a film loosening agent not only improves the theological properties of the skin protection agent according to the invention, but also significantly reduces the penetration capacity of the pollutants, as experiments have shown. It was also found that the optimization of the low occlusive film properties of the skin protection agents according to the invention only occurred within a certain mixing ratio without adversely changing the other theological properties of the film, such as film thickness, etc.
The use of the hydrophobizing agent in the absence of the film loosening agent and vice versa did not lead to the skin protection agents according to the invention with the desired properties, as can be seen from the tests. The effect achieved with the skin protection agent according to the invention is also surprising insofar as comparable studies with zinc oxide or magnesium oxide did not lead to any skin protection agents according to the invention within the range required for the hydrophobizing agent, i.e. result in a water-insoluble skin protection film with the desired properties, through which the sweat can escape unhindered and thus water evaporation on the skin is made possible. It is believed that the film loosening agent together with the water repellent is absorbed by the fat phase at elevated temperature. The water-insoluble skin protection film also has the property that it is not removed when subjected to mechanical stress and is not impaired by body salts which are excreted by the body. Rather, the sweat is excreted through the skin film in the vapor state, the skin film being continuously retained.
Die erfindungsgemäss verwendeten Filmauf3 The film loosening agents used in the present invention are substances having the property of preventing the skin protective film from becoming brittle so that its suppleness is maintained. According to the invention, they gain importance insofar as they contribute in conjunction with a hydrophobizing agent in the case of film-forming substances (petroleum jelly) to prevent the skin protection film from tearing after the solvent has evaporated. The films used in the invention3

Loosening agents must therefore be compatible with petroleum jelly as a film-forming component together with the partially neutralized stearic acid, must tolerate the movement of the body and must not be removable from the skin film by sweat or water vapor. They must not be greasy and oily and must not cause skin irritation. The film loosening agents used according to the invention are organic liquids. The well-known substances farnesol and squalene are particularly important. While squalene, a colorless and odorless oil and isoprene derivative is used cosmetically in ointments, the farnesol has preservative properties in cosmetic products. Isostearyl alcohol, Cetiol S and methylstearic acid glyceride are also substances that are already used in many different ways in cosmetics. The substances used further in the skin protection agents according to the invention are substances known per se.
Vaseline and partially saponified stearic acid are used as predominantly hydrophobic constituents, organic bases such as triethanolamine in particular being used for the saponification. Stearic acid is a common ingredient in day creams. The commercially available crystalline stearic acid is a mixture of stearic and palmitic acid, the content of palmitic acid often predominating. Depending on the number of hydraulic presses, it is called single, double or triple pressed. The triple-pressed quality is best suited for cosmetic purposes. It forms emulsifying soaps with alkalis. Furthermore, petroleum jelly (petroleum jelly) has long been preferred in cosmetics for the production of creams, ointments and make-up. Likewise, the substances referred to as water repellents are known substances, the quality of the properties of the zinc, magnesium and aluminum salts of lauric acid, myristic acid and / or stearic acid differing only slightly. For example, magnesium stearate rubbed on the skin, has a slight braking sensation and increases the adhesion of powder components. The main area of application is therefore as a powder component in compact powders and as a lubricant and mold release agent. Zinc stearate also has astringent and deodorant properties.
The skin protection agent according to the invention can be produced, for example, as follows:
The fat phase, consisting of isostearyl alcohol and petroleum jelly, is heated to 100-105 ° C. The magnesium stearate (hydrophobicizing agent) is added to this mixture with moderate stirring within 10-15 minutes. The mixture is cooled to 90-95 ° C., mixed with stearic acid, te-gin, phenoxyethanol and propyl p-hydroxybenzoate and melted homogeneously. The fat phase cooled to 75 ° C. is added under vacuum (0-6 bar) to the likewise warmed water phase (consisting of water and organic base), optionally with the addition of an antioxidant and a preservative, with slow stirring initially. The finished batch is cooled to approx. 40 ° C and the perfume is homogenized under vacuum. This is followed by further cooling to 30 ° C and mechanical homogenization. The pH is checked. The manufacture of the skin protection agent is determined by the desired end product in the form of ointments, creams, lotions. The manufactured products were examined for stability as well as for microbial and oxidative spoilage.

Before working with hydrophobic liquids, in particular mineral oils such as petroleum oils, lubricating oils, cutting oils etc. and alkaline solutions, the skin protection agent according to the invention is evenly distributed in an amount of 2-3 g on the palm of the hand and left to dry. The protective layer can be removed at any time with warm water and standard hand cleaning agents.
The skin protection effect of the skin protection agent according to the invention was examined as a percentage against sodium hydroxide solution pH 14, permanent waving liquid pH 9.5, ammonia pH 9.5 and motor oil as noxae after an exposure time of 15 or 30 minutes using various recipes listed in the tables below. The results in Tables 1-3 clearly show that there is an optimal reduction in the penetration of the noxae used by the skin protection film, both with regard to the noxa chosen and also within the chosen application time, particularly in the formulation 68 according to the invention.
To carry out the diffusion test, a round filter was impregnated with wax, which had a free circle in the middle. 250 mg of skin protection agent were applied to this circle, covered with a second filter and dried until the emulsion water had evaporated from the ointment. In the case of motor oils as a noxa, the oil stained with Sudan III was dripped onto the upper filter in an amount such that the circle of the upper round filter was covered with pollutant oil. The proportion of colored oil which diffused through to the lower filter as a function of time was measured. In the case of alkaline solutions as noxious substances, these were also dripped onto the upper, prepared with a skin protection agent, prepared filter and again the proportion of diffused noxious solution was measured.
The skin protection agent according to the invention was also extensively tested in vivo for its transdermal water evaporation (TEWL) with the aid of an evaporimeter (EP 1D from Med Inc., Sweden).
The evaporimeter first measures the epidermal water evaporation in an open measuring chamber that is placed on the skin. Two moisture sensors in this chamber, at different distances from the skin, measure the concentration of the water vapor that diffuses unintentionally. Since subject-related changes in the TEWL rate occur despite the air conditioning, an empty field was measured on the skin directly next to the product field, and always a few seconds after the measurement of the product field. The differences were further evaluated. According to Fick's law, the TEWL rate in g / m2 / h can be determined from the different measured values of the two sensors.
After an initially product-related increased TEWL rate after applying the skin protection agents of different compositions (see Examples 63 to 69), it was found that none of the skin protection agents tested, with the exception of petroleum jelly, had an occlusive effect in the sense of greatly reduced skin breathing. In comparison to the TEWL rates achieved with compositions which were outside the range according to the invention and had reduced TEWL values, the TEWL rate for compositions according to the invention was 80 to 100%.
