Fig. 2 zeigt beide Ventile in ihrer Einbaulage.
The present invention relates to a container as defined in the preamble of the independent claim.
Such containers, which are used, for example, for the transport and temporary storage of colorants, flavors, food concentrates and numerous other liquid or viscous products, should on the one hand guarantee the shelf life of the products for a certain minimum period, but on the other hand also comply with the strict safety regulations.
The containers are therefore provided both with a gassing valve which allows the product to be superimposed on pressure with an inert gas, for example nitrogen, and with a safety valve which responds to a maximum internal pressure.
The currently known containers of this type have two welded-in nozzles in the container lid, on which the valves are screwed on using sealing rings. The valve parts are in turn connected by screw connections, the spring-loaded sealing member on the one hand only being replaceable as a whole and on the other hand difficult to clean. In view of the riveted construction of the sealing elements, it cannot be determined with certainty whether they still function properly.
It is the object of the present invention to propose a container of the type defined at the outset, which has the smallest possible number of sealing points, guarantees optimum security against unintentional opening or incomplete assembly of the sealing member with the simplest construction, eliminates the risk of confusing individual parts and at easy access to all individual parts is easy to clean.
This object is achieved by the invention defined in the characterizing part of the independent claim. Preferred embodiments result from the dependent patent claims.
An embodiment of the container according to the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 is an exploded view of the individual parts of an embodiment of the two valves and
Fig. 2 shows both valves in their installed position.
The identical design of the valves, i.e. the gassing valve 1 (FIG. 2) used to superimpose the pressure of the product with an inert gas and the safety valve 2 responding to a maximum internal pressure, have an approximately cylindrical valve housing 3 according to FIG. 1, which does not consist of stainless steel is created. This valve housing 3 is provided in its lower section with two symmetrically opposite grooves 4, the function of which will become apparent from the further description. A central opening 6 is provided on the upper end wall 5 of the valve housing 3 and, as shown in FIG. 2, widens conically inwards.
An annular groove 7 arranged on the outer wall of the valve housing 3 is used for attaching a gas-tight coupling, for example a Hanseatic coupling, the spherical ring of which can be pressed inwards by means of a push-on sleeve and thus anchors the coupling in the annular groove 7. The Hansen coupling is known to the person skilled in the art and is available on the market and therefore does not require any further description.
Inside the valve housing 3 there is a movably mounted closure member 8 which has a practically cylindrical base body which is provided with four flats 9 distributed symmetrically on the circumference. The upper section 19 of the closure member 8, the function of which lies in the gas-tight closure of the upper valve housing opening 6, is frustoconical and has an annular mounting shoulder 10 for receiving a sealing ring 11 (FIG. 2).
In addition, the closure member 8 is matched in shape and size to the inner mass of the valve housing 3 that it fits snugly against the inner wall thereof, but is nevertheless displaceable against the restoring force of a coil spring 12, with the valve housing inner wall and the Flats 9 of the closure member 8 flow channels are formed which connect the upper portion of the valve housing 8 with the lower part thereof.
The spring 12 is arranged on the circumference of a cylindrical spring support 13, the widened base 14 of which is provided with a locking pin 16 protruding on both sides from a through hole 15 and can be anchored in the groove 4 by means of this pin in the manner of the known bayonet catch. Another through hole 17 arranged in the foot 14 of the spring support 13 is used to attach a, for example wire-shaped, security seal.
As shown in FIG. 2, the valve construction described can be used as a gassing valve 1 or as a safety valve 2, depending on the installation position. In both cases, the valve housing 3 is welded securely in the wall 18 of the container, preferably on the manhole cover, so that the sealing problems which occur with the usual screw connection and the installation of seals required thereby are eliminated. The structure of the internal parts of the valves is also selected such that, apart from the easily replaceable ring seal 11, no further sealing rings are required. All valve parts are freely movable, so that tilting is practically impossible. The uncomplicated structure also simplifies cleaning.
In contrast to a screw connection, which, depending on the applied torque, can either be tightened insufficiently or too tightly, the bayonet catch in the interaction of parts 4 and 16 ensures clear assembly, which ensures the constant contact pressure of the spring 12; the valve therefore always responds to the same gas pressure with certainty.
Fig. 2 shows the function of the valve: The gassing valve 1 shown in the open position opens as soon as the upper section 19 of the closure member 8, which also serves as an actuating nose, is pressed inwards from the outside, for example by the actuating pin of a Hanseatic clutch, and thus the Releases path for the inflowing compressed gas. The safety valve 2, which responds to the inside of the container, is shown in its closed position, in which the gas under pressure cannot escape to the outside.
The exemplary embodiment described with reference to the drawing can be modified in many different ways within the scope of the invention defined in the independent patent claim. For example, it would be possible to use a different, known elastic return element instead of the coil spring 12 and to adapt the spring support to this. The helical spring 12 also has the advantage that it can be easily replaced and can therefore be easily adapted to the desired gassing or maximum internal pressure.
