26a angeordnet.
The invention relates to a static mixing device, in particular for two- and multi-component systems, the mixing device consisting of a housing made of a hollow profile with at least one mixing zone arranged therein, which has at least two crossing webs inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis of the housing and a method for Manufacture of such devices.
Mixing devices of this type are described and illustrated, for example, in CH-PS 630 455 (cf. in particular FIG. 3) and in CH-PS 611 178 (cf. in particular FIG. 5).
In the known mixing devices, the webs of the individual mixing zones or mixing elements are e.g. welded together or soldered together if necessary. This creates coherent, self-supporting mixing elements that are placed in a tube in the desired position. The desired position is to be understood such that, for example, adjacent mixing elements are arranged offset from one another by an angle of preferably 90 °. The diameter of the mixing tube is determined so that the web ends or outer webs contact the mixing tube without gaps.
When using such static mixing devices, there are areas of application where the components to be mixed harden and block the device relatively quickly and therefore have to be cleaned before their further use. One such application is, for example, two-component systems that consist of a resin and a hardener. Other applications concern mixing tasks when applying silicone sealants or hot melt adhesives. In these cases, the risk of blockage of the device is particularly high and its cleaning is relatively complex, and solvents which are hazardous to health are often used.
The invention has for its object, in particular for the above-described field of application to provide a static mixing device with a structure as specified in the preamble of claim 1, which is simple and inexpensive to manufacture, it being possible to dispense with cleaning the device by the clogged device is replaced with a new one.
The solution to this problem is specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1. Advantageous manufacturing methods are described in claims 5 to 7.
The invention is explained below with reference to exemplary embodiments shown schematically in the drawing.
1 to 3 show in different representations a static mixing device which consists of four identically designed, separately manufactured segments.
The four segments of the same design are shown in FIG. 3 before assembly in side views or front and rear views and in associated cross sections along the section lines A-A or
B-B shown.
Fig. 4a shows the assembly and Fig. 4b shows a cross section along the section line C-C of Fig. 4a.
In FIGS. 5a, 5b and 6, static mixing devices are shown in a schematic representation, which can be produced in one operation.
7a shows a perspective representation of a static mixing device with a circular flow cross section, and FIG. 7b shows a cross section after the crossing layers have been plugged together.
Fig. 1 shows a partial section of a fully assembled static mixing device along the section line I-I of Fig. 2, which shows a cross section along the section line II-II of Fig. 1.
The device shown in Fig. 1 consists of three mixing zones 2, 3, 4, which are enclosed by a hollow profile housing 1, the mixing zone 3 being offset by 90 ° relative to the mixing zones 2 and 4.
Each of the four segments consists of a cylindrical tube part 5, 6, 7 and 8 with three superimposed, parallel layers 5a-5c to 8a-8c, each inclined against the longitudinal axis of the device, of webs 5 min a each lying in one plane, 5 min min a, 5 min min min a to 8 min a, 8 min min b, 8 min min min c.
Of course, the mixing elements can also consist of two, four or more layers instead of three.
For better illustration, different reference numbers are selected for the individual segments, although all segments are identical and are only offset from one another and can be produced as castings or by means of a spraying process as standard. The segments advantageously consist of plastic, without other materials being intended to be excluded.
Since in the exemplary embodiment the middle mixing zone 3 is to be arranged at 90 ° relative to the adjacent mixing zones 2 and 4, a longitudinal section of the cylindrical tube parts 5 and 7 corresponding to the mixing zone 3 is left free between the mixing zones 3 and 4. Likewise, the cylindrical tube parts 6 and 8 have free surfaces along the mixing zone 2 and 4.
In the present case, a single mold can be used to produce segments 5, 7 and 6, 8, the individual parts for the mixing zones being cut in such a way that when the four segments are staggered, the adjacent web groups engage in zippers and successive mixing zones each by 90 DEG are staggered.
It is also possible to form a static mixing device from two, three, four or more zones.
4a shows the assembly of a static mixing device shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 in a longitudinal section. Fig. 4b shows a cross section through the device consisting of four segments along the section line C-C of Fig. 4a.
4a only two mixing zones 4 and 3 of the device are shown. During assembly, the segments which form the individual mixing zones are put together in pairs offset from one another and held together by a hollow profile 11. The introduction of the zones into the hollow profile 11 can e.g. also take place by means of a drawing tool 10.
It is also possible to produce all the mixing zones forming a static mixing device in such a way that the four segments of the individual mixing zones are cast in one piece, joined together in an offset arrangement and pushed through a hollow profile.
The hollow profile 11 can correspond to the hollow profile housing 1 of the mixing device shown in FIGS. 1 to 3.
It is also possible to provide individual segments on their end faces with plug connections, so that a stable structure is formed which no longer requires a separate jacket tube.
If a static mixing device designed according to the invention becomes blocked during operation, it is simply replaced by a new device, either by pulling the device that is no longer usable from the hollow profile and inserting a new one, or in the event that the mixing device does not have a hollow profile (casing pipe ) has a new device by plugging new mixing elements together.
As already mentioned, such mixing devices are inexpensive to manufacture and can therefore be used as disposable products.
In the embodiments shown in FIGS. 5a, 5b and 6, their shape is identical to that of a static mixing device shown in FIGS. 1 to 3. They differ only in a different production method.
While in the first embodiment an injection molding tool is required, but a device is required for the assembly, with which the segments can be staggered into a hollow profile, a more complicated injection tool is required for the embodiments shown in FIGS. 5a, 5b and 6, since the four segments are arranged on an injection tool, not shown. However, the assembly of the four segments 5 to 8 is easier, since the assignment of the segments is already fixed by a sprue, and the segments automatically come into the correct position when they are inserted or inserted into a hollow profile.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 5a and 5b, the individual segments 12 to 15 are produced in one work process and are connected to one another by means of casting strands 12a to 15a with a sprue 16. This structure is similar to the first embodiment by a hollow profile, e.g. Retaining tube 17 retracted and thus assembled. The casting strands 12a to 15a and the sprue 16 are then broken off and the device is thus ready for operation.
The segments 18 to 21 forming a static mixing device are produced in a similar manner according to FIG. 6, the connection, i.e. the sprue is designed as a product discharge nozzle 22, and the segments are folded together at the kink 23 analogously to FIG. 5b during assembly. When the mixing device is operating, the mixed product is discharged through the nozzle 22.
While the static mixing devices described above and shown in the corresponding drawings have square flow cross sections, FIG. 7a shows a section of a device which consists of two tubular segments 25 and 26 which engage with one another by means of tabs 27. As can be seen from FIG. 7b, webs 25a and 26a connected to the segments are arranged in a circular flow cross section.
