Abstract

The time display device uses an electric setting motor (1), supplied with electrical signals from a quartz oscillator with the continuous rotation of its drive output shaft coupled via an intermediate drive mechanism to at least one time display ring (11,12). The space enclosed by the latter is used as an image plane for a fixed or moving image. Pref. a series of display rings (11,12) are driven by the intermediate drive mechanism and carry respective markings (13,14) rotated relative to a stationary peripheral time scale. Each display ring (11,12) pref. has a toothed inner periphery engaged by a respective drive cog. ADVANTAGE - Allows time display to frame central display surface.
