BESCHREIBUNG

DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to an angular dimension according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Mechanical angular masses or repeaters with two legs rotatable relative to one another about a central axis and an angle value display in the form of a vernier scale for determining the angle set between the legs have long been known. At least in the case of precision instruments, they generally have a vernier angle scale with which the angle set between the two legs can be read down to a tenth of a degree or the minute. Since the reading of such scales with their many relatively close measuring lines is not for everyone, this often leads to incorrect measurements, respectively. Wrong readings.
The present invention is therefore based on the object of proposing an angle measure which, on the one hand, largely eliminates the risk of incorrect readings and specifies the angle set between the legs in digital form and, on the other hand, makes use of the electronic means for zeroing and measured value transformation available today.
According to the invention, this is achieved by an angular dimension as defined in claim 1.
An advantageous embodiment variant of an angular dimension according to the invention is described and explained below with reference to the accompanying drawing, which construction problems had to be solved. In the drawing shows
1 is a plan view of such an angular dimension, the rotatable leg being shown in dashed lines relative to the fixed leg in the eight 45 positions of a circle,
Fig. 2 shows a section through an electro-mechanical

4 shows a partial section through the angular dimension,
Fig.
5 shows a plan view of a central clamping piece with an angular dimension, which has to ensure the rotation-proof blocking without influencing the electro-mechanical sensor, and

In Fig. 1 it can be seen that the Win kelmass according to the invention with respect to its mechanical Hauptkompo components, namely a fixed leg 1, which is either firmly connected or firmly connectable to a bottom 11 (FIG. 4) of the angular dimension, one about an axis of rotation A. Movable leg 3, which can be rotated without play, which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to a cover 2 of the angular dimension, and largely corresponds to a central locking nut 4, a conventional mechanical angular dimension. Advantageously, like that, it also has an actuatable via a rotary knob 5, described below for precise adjustment of small angle changes.
It is also recommended if the angular dimension according to the invention has means which allow the precise adjustment of the
Calibration position, in which the movable leg 3 is exactly aligned with the fixed leg 1, allow. The related
Means and any means for fixing the movable
Legs 3 on the rotatable part 17 do not form
Subject of the present invention and are therefore not described further.
Fig. 2 roughly illustrates the structure of a capacitive transducer, as it is used before in the angular dimension according to the invention. It consists, in addition to electronics not explained here, in a 3-disc model, essentially from a disc-shaped electrode surface pattern 7 (FIG. 3a) having first electrode disc 6, an electrostatic shield 8 with openings 9 and a second, homogeneous electrode disk 10. Each of these three disk-shaped capacitor elements 6, 8 and
10 has a central hole 6a, 8a, respectively. 10a, the function of which will be explained below.
By rotating the electrode disk 6 with the electrode surface pattern
7 compared to the shield 8 around the central axis A of the sensor, capacitance changes of the sensor are generated in a known manner, from which the angularly accurate position of the rotated element relative to the fixed element of the capacitor can be calculated with respect to a defined starting position.
The related technology is known and is therefore not described in detail here.
Alternatively, instead of a 3-disk sensor, one with only two disks can be used, in which the shield is replaced by a passive electrostatic reflector and the homogeneous electrode disk is omitted, or is made in one piece with the electrode surface of the sample disc:
It has proven itself and the expert familiar with working with the conventional angular masses is used to turning the rotatable leg 3 connected to the cover 2 as soon as possible after it has been turned into the desired rotational position relative to that with a base 11 and a central axis 12 (FIG 4) connected fixed leg 1 by means of a rotation on the central locking nut 4 with respect to its rotational position relative to the fixed leg 1.
A capacitive transducer, as described above with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3a to 3c and whose electrode disks 6 and 10 and shield 8 must be immovable to one another in the axial direction, since the air gap between these elements for the value of the capacitance of the transducer in each Rotational position is of great importance, but must not be influenced by the compression of the central parts of the angular dimension, and thus the legs 1 and 3, by the locking nut 4. It is therefore necessary to propose a constructive solution within the scope of the present invention which, on the one hand, leaves the previous handling of an angular dimension unchanged for the person skilled in the art and, on the other hand, takes into account the special requirements of the electro-mechanical elements of the capacitive transducer necessary for the digital display of the angles.
4 shows a person skilled in the art how this problem can be solved constructively according to the invention. With the bottom 11, the central axis 12 is firmly connected, for. B. by riveting. At the same time, the fixed leg 1 of the angular dimension is firmly connected to this base 11, or at least can be firmly connected to it. The axis 12 advantageously has two different threaded sections, of which the lower threaded section 13 of a first nut 14 serves to connect the electrostatic shield 8 to the base 11 in a rotationally fixed manner by means of an intermediate disk 15 and a centering ring 16, by the shield 8 between the intermediate disk 15 and centering ring 16 clamped and these three parts are pressed onto the floor 11. This ensures that the shield 8 is in a fixed rotational position with respect to the fixed leg 1 with respect to the axis of rotation A of the angular dimension.
It is also firmly positioned with respect to its distance from the floor 11. A trough 17 is mounted on the centering ring 16 without play about the axis of rotation A, into which the two electrode disks 6 and 10, advantageously held by a spacer ring 18 at a predetermined distance from one another, are fitted in a rotationally fixed manner.
The cover 2 and evaluation electronics 19 for evaluating the capacitance values and changes in capacitance of the sensor (6, 8, 10) when using the angular dimension, together with the display and operating elements (35; 31-34) shown in FIG. 1, are also non-rotatable with the tub 17 connected. If the rotatable leg 3 is rotated relative to the fixed leg 1 around the axis A, the pan 17 and the lid 2 with all the parts connected therewith rotate relative to the base 11 and the parts connected thereto.
This means that when the rotatable leg 3 is rotated relative to the fixed leg 1, the two electrode disks 6 and 10 rotate relative to the fixed shield 8 about the axis A, which in a known manner leads to changes in capacitance in the transducer, which is electronically displayed in digitally indicated angular mass let convert.
In order to enable the tub 17 to be pressed against the floor 11 in a rotationally fixed manner by rotating the locking nut 4, a clamping piece 20 is required, as is shown in detail in FIGS. 5 and 6, for example.
As can be seen from FIG. 4, this clamping piece 20 with its three pins 20a, 20b and 20c passes through the three holes 21a, 21b and 21c (FIG. 3b) provided in the shield 8 and is thus supported on the central part of the tub 17 from.
Due to the fact that the shield 8 is connected to the axis 12 in a rotationally fixed manner, the clamping piece 20 must also not rotate relative to the axis 20. In order to position it in its axial position relative to the floor 11, it is advantageously acted on at its upper end by a washer 21 and a spring washer 22 onto which a second nut 23, which is screwed onto an upper threaded section 24 of the axis 12, is applied . Depending on how tightly the second nut 24 is tightened, the pan 17 clamped between the base 11 and the clamping piece 20 remains more or less freely rotatable.
It is advantageously ensured that the trough 17 can be rotated relative to the base 11, and thus the rotatable leg 3 relative to the fixed leg 1, without play, but not without a minimum of external torque, such that the legs 1 and 3 can be positioned without jerking without inadvertently shifting relative to each other.
In order to fix the tub 17 with respect to the floor 11, and thus the rotatable leg 3 with respect to the fixed leg 1 after the desired angle has been set, it is sufficient to tighten the locking nut 4, which has the effect that a coupling ring 25, which is advantageously connected in one piece, the tub 17 presses non-positively via the clamping piece 20 against the base 11 until the fixed leg 1 connected to the base 11 and the movable leg 3 connected or connectable to the tub 17 are locked against one another in a rotationally fixed manner.
Thanks to the construction of the angular dimension according to the invention, and in particular its central area with the mounting of the various rotatable parts, it is possible to maintain the usual handling of angular masses with vernier scales without the axial tension of the individual mechanical parts that can be carried out in the center Have an influence on the capacitive sensor, even though they pass through it.
The central holes 6a and 10a (FIGS. 3a and 3c) of the two electrode disks 6 and 10 are dimensioned larger than the outer diameter of the parts which pass through them and clamp the shield 8 and the tub 17, thereby ensuring that there is no axial displacement of the tub 11 and clamping piece 20 can take place relative to one another, so that the position of the three components of the sensor - the two electrode disks 6 and 10 and the shield 8 - always remains unchanged with respect to their respective distances from one another. Only thanks to the fact that this is so, clamping the rotatable leg 3 onto the fixed leg 1 does not influence the angle value determined electromechanically and electronically converted into a digital display.
When using a 2-disk sensor, in which the second electrode disk 10 is omitted, the height of the angular dimension can be reduced. In such an embodiment variant, the shield 8 is also replaced by a passive electrostatic reflector, as mentioned above.
In order to be able to adjust the angular dimension according to the invention as precisely as possible and with sensitivity, it is advantageously provided with a fine adjustment mechanism, which in a known manner is a rotary knob 5 (FIG. 1), which is a pinion 26, and thus the cover 2 with the rotatable leg 3 and the tub 17, in the sense of a satellite, around a ring gear 27 connected to the floor 11, and thus the fixed leg 1, can rotate.
In order to electrically connect the evaluation electronics 19 to the electrode disk 6 carrying the electrode surface pattern 7 (FIG. 3a), an elastomer 28 provided with conductor tracks can be used. To ensure the opposite pole in the shield 8, it is also advantageous to provide a contact ring 29. The pinion 26 is expediently also stored in a bearing bush 30 in order to ensure that it is guided precisely and does not inadvertently come into contact with the cover 2 or the evaluation electronics 19.
A person skilled in the art will recognize that the present invention, in conjunction with known technical constructions in conventional angular dimensions, allows the realization of a new angular dimension which corresponds in practical terms to that but digitally displays the set angle. By using a corresponding, known evaluation electronics 19, it is also possible to define any starting position of the two legs 1 and 3 as a gauge, from which an angle can be measured. This is possible in a known manner by means of a reset button 31 (FIG. 1), which sets the electronics to zero. A conversion of the display from degrees and minutes to decimal degrees is also easy to implement and can be easily implemented by pressing a button (button 32). Other electronic switches, e.g. B.
a 90/180/360 switchover by means of a further button 33 can also be provided. It also makes sense to provide an on / off button 34 by means of which the evaluation electronics can be switched off.
An LCD display is preferably used as the display 35. For the purpose of simply replacing the battery (s) required for operating the electronics and the display, it is further recommended to provide a corresponding opening with cover 36. In order to be able to easily adapt the necessary information for the various operating elements of the new angular dimension to the particular circumstances, which depend on the electronics used, it makes sense to insert a front plate 37 in the cover 2.
It may also make sense to provide the new angular dimension with an output for outputting the measured value by pressing a corresponding button 38 on a computer or printer.
The angular dimension according to the invention can be provided with further mechanical and / or electronic additives in order to optimally adapt it to the requirements of the user. In individual points it can also be constructed differently than in the advantageous exemplary embodiment described above.
