Abstract

The litter material is of shredded waste-paper formed into granules, with a bonding agent. The latter is of one or more plastics and/or natural products, e.g. PVC, PVP, cornflour or gum arabic. It can also contain an odour-absorbent and/or a dung-degrading enzyme released by the moisture. ADVANTAGE - Low cost, and easy incineration or composting.

Description

   BESCHREIBUNG

   DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a litter for cat litter boxes.

It is known to use sawdust to absorb cat feces.

In recent times, it has also become known to use granulated minerals to absorb cat feces.

These spreading agents can also be enriched with odor binders and thus absorb both moisture and odor.

Pure, relatively expensive raw materials are used to produce these known scattering agents, the use of which is thus withdrawn for a more useful purpose. Furthermore, the destruction of the agents based on mineral raw materials is not completely possible.

The object of the present invention is to provide a litter for cat litter boxes that avoids the disadvantages of the known ones.

This object is achieved by a spreading agent for cat litter boxes according to the characterizing features of patent claim 1.

The use of waste paper for the production of litter for cat litter boxes proves to be very advantageous in many respects, since wastepaper is available in unlimited quantities and inexpensively and its processing into litter for cat litter boxes is possible with little expenditure of energy. The contaminated litter for cat litter boxes can be composted or burned in an environmentally friendly way; there are no harmful residues.

The invention is explained in more detail using an example.

To produce the litter for cat litter boxes, waste paper from newspapers, magazines, cardboard etc. is crushed in a suitable manner and processed into granules in block form or in any three-dimensional shape.

The granules or the blocks or the like can be loosely pressed or solidified by a binder, and an odor absorber can also be added to the binder.

Plastics or natural products can be used as binders. For example, Toxtrin (corn starch), gum arabic or PVC or PVP products are suitable.

Perfumes, fragrances and also enzymes can be used as odor absorbers.

If enzymes or enzyme mixtures are used, they can biodegrade both the odor-forming substances and the faeces and convert them into an odorless substance.

It is also conceivable to use a binder which softens again due to the moisture introduced with the droppings and, after drying, locally solidifies the droppings together with the paper and thus holds the used part of the litter together. In this way, mixing with the still clean portion can be delayed.

Natural fiber from textile waste products can also be added to the waste paper.
