Abstract

A foot imprint taker, for use in pedology, consists of a flexible container (4) of glass micro-balls, attached by its ends to a support (2). The container is connected to a vacuum source, allowing the balls to be held in their compressed position after the foot (1) has been placed on top of the container. To facilitate the taking of the imprint the container (4) is placed on top of a flexible support in the form of chambers (5) containing a liquid or gas. In a variant the supporting chambers (5) can be made from a solid compressible material such as foam rubber and the glass ball container can be made from layers of flexible silicone which is resistant to raised temperatures. ADVANTAGE - More accurate imprint taking.

Description

   DESCRIPTION

   DESCRIPTION

The invention relates to a device for capturing a podiatric impression using a relief fixator of the vacuum microbead bag type on which the foot will be deposited and characterized in that a back pressure will be given under the microbead bag in order to to obtain a relief in accordance with the need. This imprint will then serve as a mold for the heat-deformable material used as plantar support.

In podiatric applications, microbead trays are used for the purpose of taking an impression. They are characterized by the fact that they rest on a flat surface and consequently offer no possibility of modulating the back pressure.

This lack of back pressure modulation has the effect of giving podiatric impressions in the direction of aggravation of the defect.

The invention as characterized in claim I solves the problem in that a back pressure acting under the microbead bag has the effect of giving an entirely different shape. In addition, it is possible to locally modulate this back pressure, in order to obtain an imprint of the foot corresponding to a good static posture of the patient, the latter being in a standing position on the device.

The advantages obtained thanks to this invention consist essentially in that the plantar support produced in a heat-deformable material is very close to the ideal corrective form.

The invention is set out below in more detail using a drawing representing only one embodiment.

Figure 1 shows the foot I supported on the impression taking device, the frame of the device 2 securely fixing the silicone sheets 3. Inside the pocket formed by the silicone sheets 3 are the glass microbeads 4. When a vacuum is created between the two silicone sheets 3, the glass microbeads 4 compress between them and give a rigid imprint. The pockets 5 make a modular back pressure giving an imprint of the foot with the desired correction.
