Abstract

Two mechanical modules (2,3) are installed in adjacent recesses (4,5) in one face of a circular frame (1). The rotor (15) of the motor in the first module (2) drives the hour hand (7) and minute hand (8) via gearing (19-23) which is mounted entirely in the frame (17,18) of that module. The centre seconds-hand wheel (32) is rotated by gearing (29-31) from the rotor (16) of the motor in the second module (3), but its shaft (33) carrying the seconds hand is mounted in a bridge (34) pertaining to the frame of the first module. The electronic circuit supplies pulss at the correct rate for each motor. USE/ADVANTAGE - In e.g stop-watch, flexibility is increased by transfer of second-hand drive to module which carries hour and minute hands.
