Abstract
The device comprises a box-shaped housing (1) containing an ultraviolet light source. In a holding device (8) which slides into the housing are housed several toothbrushes (4) or the bristles (11) of an electric toothbrush, the heads of which are located in the housing and the handles of which protrude through openings (3) in the housing (1). The heads are sterilized and kept sterile by irradiation with ultraviolet light. The ultraviolet light source is connected to an electric plug (7) by a cable (6).
Description
BESCHREIBUNG
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Keimfreimachen und Keimfreihalten von Instrumenten, die der Behandlung von menschlichen oder tierischen Körperteilen dienen.
Die Desinfektion, d. h. das Unschädlichmachen von Krankheitserregern, insbesondere von Bakterien, erfolgte bisher meistens durch chemische Mittel. Ebenfalls seit langem bekannt ist das Sterilisieren durch Hitzeeinwirkung.
Diese Verfahren werden vor allem im medizinischen Bereich angewendet. Das Desinfizieren von Coiffeur-Instrumenten, wie Rasiermesser und dergleichen, wird hingegen vernachlässigt. Bei im privaten Haushalt Verwendung findenden Instrumenten, insbesondere Zahnbürsten, ist das Desinfizieren völlig unbekannt.
Die Erfindung bezweckt eine Vorrichtung zu schaffen, mit der Instrumente auf einfache Weise keimfrei gemacht werden können und welche vor allem ausserhalb des medizinischen Bereiches, sogar im privaten Haushalt, Verwendung finden kann.
Die erfindungsgemässe Vorrichtung entspricht den kennzeichnenden Merkmalen des Patentanspruchs 1.
Besonders vorteilhaft ist, dass die Instrumente trocken, d.h. ohne die Verwendung von chemischen Flüssigkeiten, und bei niedriger Temperatur keimfrei gemacht werden. Ein weiterer wesentlicher Vorteil liegt darin, dass die Instrumente darüberhinaus ständig keimfrei gehalten werden. Der einfache Aufbau der Vorrichtung ermöglicht es, dass diese preisgünstig angeboten werden kann.
Nachfolgend wird anhand von zwei Zeichnungsfiguren ein Ausführungsbeispiel der erfindungsgemässen Vorrichtung beschrieben.
Fig. 1 zeigt eine Ansicht der Vorrichtung, und
Fig. 2 zeigt den Aufbau der Vorrichtung nach Fig. 1.
Das dargestellte Ausführungsbeispiel betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Keimfreimachen und Keimfreihalten von Zahnbürsten.
Die Vorrichtung besteht aus einem kastenförmigen Gehäuse 1, in welchem sich eine ultraviolette Strahlen erzeugende Lichtquelle 2 befindet. Im vorliegenden Fall handelt es sich dabei um eine in einer Fassung eingeschraubten Birne, es kann aber auch eine Röhre sein. Das Gehäuse 1 weist mehrere Öffnungen 3 auf, in welche die Zahnbürsten 4 so einsteckbar sind, dass sich ihr Borstenkopf 9 im Gehäuse 1 befindet und ihr Griff 10 aus dem Gehäuse 1 herausragt. Die UV-Lichtquelle ist auf der Grundplatte 5 des Gehäuses 1 befestigt und ist über ein Kabel 6 mit einem Stecker 7 versehen.
Anders als hier dargestellt, kann darüberhinaus auch ein Schalter zum Ein- und Ausschalten der Vorrichtung vorgesehen werden. Die Zahnbürsten 4 werden so in einer Halterung 8 gehalten, dass ihre Borsten zur UV-Lichtquelle 2 zeigen. Diese sind damit den ultravioletten Strahlen ausgesetzt und dadurch keimfrei gemacht und gehalten. Die die ultraviolette Strahlung erzeugende Lichtquelle 2 ist durch einen Thermostaten gesteuert und wird beispielsweise beim Überschreiten einer Temperatur von 38 "C ausgeschaltet und bei deren Unterschreiten wieder eingeschaltet. Die Halterung 8 ist in das Gehäuse 1 einschiebbar gelagert und kann nach Entfernen der Zahnbürsten jederzeit zum Reinigen herausgezogen werden. Die Vorrichtung eignet sich auch zur Aufnah- me der Bürstchen 11 einer Elektro-Zahnbürste. Das Gehäuse 1 besteht vorteilhaft aus Kunststoff.
Die beschriebene Vorrichtung zum Keimfreimachen und Keimfreihalten von Zahnbürsten ist nicht nur für private Haushalte gedacht, sie kann vielmehr auch in zahnärztlichen Praxen und in Hotelzimmern verwendet werden.
Es liegt im Rahmen der Erfindung, die beschriebene Vorrichtung oder eine ähnlich aufgebaute Vorrichtung zum Keimfreimachen und Keimfreihalten von anderen Instrumenten, welche der Behandlung von menschlichen oder tierischen Körperteilen dienen, zu verwenden. In Frage kommen dabei ärztliche bzw. zahnärztliche Instrumente, ferner Coiffeur-Instrumente, z.B. Rasiermesser, Rasierklingen, Haarscheren oder Scherköpfe von Haarschneideapparaten und auch Hand oder Fusspflege-Instrumente.

The invention aims to provide a device with which instruments can be made aseptic in a simple manner and which can be used above all outside the medical field, even in the private household.
The device according to the invention corresponds to the characterizing features of patent claim 1.
It is particularly advantageous that the instruments are dry, i.e. without the use of chemical liquids, and can be sanitized at low temperature. Another important advantage is that the instruments are kept constantly germ-free. The simple structure of the device enables it to be offered at low cost.
An exemplary embodiment of the device according to the invention is described below with reference to two drawing figures.

The illustrated embodiment relates to a device for sanitizing and sanitizing toothbrushes.
The device consists of a box-shaped housing 1 in which there is an ultraviolet light source 2. In the present case, this is a bulb screwed into a socket, but it can also be a tube. The housing 1 has a plurality of openings 3, into which the toothbrushes 4 can be inserted in such a way that their bristle head 9 is located in the housing 1 and their handle 10 protrudes from the housing 1. The UV light source is fastened on the base plate 5 of the housing 1 and is provided with a plug 7 via a cable 6.
Unlike shown here, a switch for switching the device on and off can also be provided. The toothbrushes 4 are held in a holder 8 so that their bristles point to the UV light source 2. These are therefore exposed to the ultraviolet rays and are thus made germ-free and kept. The light source 2 which generates the ultraviolet radiation is controlled by a thermostat and is switched off, for example, when a temperature of 38 ° C. is exceeded and is switched on again when the temperature falls below it The device is also suitable for receiving the brushes 11 of an electric toothbrush The housing 1 is advantageously made of plastic.
The described device for sanitizing and sanitizing toothbrushes is not only intended for private households, but can also be used in dental practices and in hotel rooms.
It is within the scope of the invention to use the described device or a similarly constructed device for sanitizing and sanitizing other instruments which are used to treat human or animal parts of the body. Medical or dental instruments come into question, as well as hairdressing instruments, e.g. Razors, razor blades, hair scissors or shaving heads of hair clippers and also hand or foot care instruments.
