BESCHREIBUNG
DESCRIPTION
The invention relates to a device for improving the probability of hits when shooting moving targets in the air with projectiles which are fired by firearms in the form of a series fire.
The problems that arise when shooting at moving targets are first to be explained with reference to FIG. 1.
1, in addition to a gun G, a straightening device R is set up in the field. With the aid of a number of measuring points M, of which only one is shown in FIG. 1, the movement path of the movable target is determined and the position of the meeting point T is calculated at a given point in time. The distance eM is determined with a target sensor. The lateral angle aM in a horizontal plane and the position angle XM in a vertical plane are determined with the straightening device R. The gun angles, i.e. the lateral directional angle aT and the elevation angle g are calculated by a computer. In this calculation, the distance eT from the gun to the meeting point T and the position angle AT to the meeting point T are first determined.
At a target speed Vz, the target needs time t until it reaches the meeting point T. The same time t also requires the projectile that flies away from the gun G at an initial speed Vo. The distance between gun G and aiming device R must be taken into account by means of a parallax P.
It can be seen from the above explanations that the projectile flight time t, and thus the initial speed of the projectile Vo, are important. At any time, the computer uses the available measurement point data to make a forecast for the future flight path of the target as a function of a space curve as a function of time. The trajectory of the projectile, given the pipe direction, is also a space curve as a function of time and must also be determined in the computer.
Based on the predicted flight path of the target and the ballistics of the projectile, the computer uses a suitable iteration program to determine the future meeting point T, and from this the pipe direction of the gun G.
Because of the measurement errors or target errors of the target tracking sensor and because of the stochastic behavior of the target, it is impossible to predict the future flight path of the target mathematically exactly for the duration of the storey flight time. On the other hand, even if all determinable influencing factors are taken into account, a projectile will not mathematically follow the target trajectory.
These errors mean that the target and the floor do not always meet. Because of the random nature of these errors, only a probability can be given for the meeting.
It is known that the probability of a hit can be increased by a high cadence, because the probability of a hit is the probability that at least one shot hits the target when n shots are fired. With high cadence and high target flight speed, it is no longer possible for a computer to determine the pipe direction for each individual storey. It is also not possible to move the heavy gun so quickly that the pipe direction, i.e. Lateral angle aT and elevation angle e, can be set.
The object which is to be achieved with the present invention is to improve the accuracy.
The present invention further aims to solve the problem of the series fire in a novel way and has the features mentioned in the characterizing part of claim 1.
This new device now has the major advantage that the errors which arise from the fact that it is not possible to swivel the firearm into the desired position for each individual floor in a series fire are reduced by the fact that one for each individual floor Series fire, the projectile flight time t is influenced either by the choice of the initial speed and / or by the choice of braking during the flight and / or by the choice of the optimal ignition timing.
Exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention are described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing. It shows:
1 is a schematic representation of the geometric conditions when bombarding a movable target in the air,
2 shows another schematic representation of the geometrical conditions when firing at a movable target in the air,
3 shows a schematic representation of a projectile with a high initial velocity Vo,
4 shows a schematic representation of a projectile with a low initial velocity Vo,
Fig. 5 is a schematic representation of a projectile with brake wings and
Fig. 6 is a schematic representation of the means for remote control of the braking and ignition of the flying projectile.
According to Fig. 2 there is a gun G in the center of an imaginary hemisphere K of radius R. R is e.g.
1-5 km. Target Z to be combated, e.g. a rocket, describes a trajectory from which individual points P1, P2, .3 ... Pn are measured. With the help of a computer it can be seen at which point the target Z will penetrate the ball K. The point of penetration P is in the middle of a square formed by two lines B and B2 parallel to the equator and two meridians L and L2. On the spherical surface K the penetration points Pl, .1 .... of the projectiles fired by the gun G are also indicated, which can also be calculated with the aid of the computer.
With the aid of the device according to the invention, all the projectiles of a series burst should now reach the surface of the imaginary sphere K at the same time that the target Z also reaches the surface of the sphere K. This can now be achieved in different ways: a) The first storeys of a burst of fire fly slower than the last storeys of the same burst of fire in such a way that the last storeys can catch up with the first storeys and finally all the storeys of a burst of fire hit the surface of the ball K at the same time to reach.
b) The first storeys of a burst of fire are braked more strongly in flight than the last storeys of the same burst of fire in such a way that finally all the storeys of a burst of fire reach the surface of the ball K simultaneously.
It should be noted that at a high initial velocity Vo the trajectory of a projectile is different than at a low initial velocity. As can be seen from FIG. 2, a different elevation angle must therefore be provided for each floor. It should also be noted that when a projectile is braked, the trajectory also changes, because the more the projectile is braked, the more the trajectory is curved. As can also be seen from FIG. 2, the trajectory of a projectile can therefore be corrected during the flight by remote control of the braking device.
FIG. 3 shows a projectile whose initial speed Vo = 1350 m / sec and FIG. 4 shows another projectile whose initial speed is 600 m / sec. Such floors are known and need not be explained here. These projectiles enable a first burst of fire with a number of projectiles of low initial speed Vo and then a second burst of fire with a number of projectiles of high initial speed Vo to be fired. Both bursts of fire can be aimed at the point on the surface of the sphere at which the target Z will penetrate this surface of the sphere.
However, only one shot can be aimed at this point on the surface of the ball, while the other shot is aimed at the target Z in the classic manner according to FIG. 1, taking into account the required lead angle.
FIG. 5 shows a projectile 10 which has brake vanes 11 which either open automatically after an adjustable flight time or which can be opened at the desired moment by a remote control. Such projectiles are known and are therefore not explained here.
A complete device is shown schematically in FIG. This device has a gun 12 which is aimed at a target 14 by a computer 13. This means that the computer determines the required side and elevation angle and automatically pivots the gun 12 in elevation and azimuth. A tracking radar 15 is connected to the computer 13, with which the distance and the position of the target 14 is determined. With the information from the tracking radar 15, the computer 13 is able to predict the future trajectory of the target 14. Also connected to the computer 13 is a transmitter 16 which, by remote control, is able to open the brake vanes 11 (FIG. 5) at a desired level in the air and initiate the ignition of the level 17 at the optimum time.
Additional interference can be taken into account by means of an additional device 18, in particular the weather or the initial speed Vo etc.
The operation of this device shown in FIG. 6 is as follows: the radius R of the ball K (FIG. 2) and the position of the ball center G can be given to the computer 13 via the additional device 18. The initial speeds of the available ammunition are also stored in the computer. The various ballistic curves of the individual types of ammunition, which are dependent on the initial speed Vo of the individual projectiles and the effect of the brake blades 11, are also stored in the additional device 18. With the tracking device 15, the position coordinates Pl xl, yl, zl); P2 (X2, y2, Z2); P3 (x3, y3sz3). . . Pn (xn, yn, zn) of the target Z to be combated is determined and forwarded to the computer.
Based on this information, the computer can determine at which point the target Z will penetrate the surface of the ball K. The computer is then able to determine this point P on the surface of the ball and to direct the gun to this point. In addition, the computer can calculate a meeting point T (see FIG. 1) and point the gun at this meeting point T beforehand or subsequently. Furthermore, the computer is able to control the braking of the projectiles 17 in the air and their ignition after the fire command to the gun via the transmitter 16.
By combining the classic target tracking according to FIG. 1 with the target fighting according to the invention according to FIG. 2, it is possible to improve the probability of being hit.
