BESCHREIBUNG
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Tabakpfeife und insbesondere auf eine Tabakpfeife mit einem Pfeifenkopf, der eine nach oben offene Ausnehmung aufweist, die als Brennraum für den zu rauchenden Tabak dient, wobei der Boden des Pfeifenkopfes mit einem seitlichen Rauchkanal im Pfeifenholm versehen ist, und an dessen freien Ende ein Mundstück entfernbar befestigt ist.
Bei den bekannten Pfeifen der oben erwähnten Art mündet der im seitlichen Pfeifenholm ausgeführte Rauchkanal seitlich in den Boden des Brennraumes ein; es ist auch bekannt, dass in diesem Falle die Verbrennung schräg erfolgt, wodurch am Boden des Brennraumes an der der Öffnung gegenüberliegenden Seite eine Teilmenge geschwärzten Tabakes und Feuchtigkeit zurückbleibt, die sich zum Teil bei der Verbrennung verflüchtigt und die geeignet ist sich regelmässig abzusondern. Ausserdem grenzt die Saugöffnung unmittelbar an den Brennraum an, und es ist auch bekannt, dass sie mehr oder weniger rasch durch feste und flüssige Rückstände aus dem Schmauchfeuer verstopft wird, wobei diese geschmacklich unangenehmen Rückstände mit dem Rauch angesaugt werden und den Mund des Rauchers erreichen können.
Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, die vorerwähnten Nachteile der bekannten Tabakpfeifen zu vermeiden und eine Pfeife zu schaffen, die einerseits eine gleichmässige und vollständige Verbrennung gestattet und andererseits die aus dem Schmauchfeuer herrührenden festen und flüssigen Rückstände zu sammeln gestattet und verhindert, dass diese Rückstände den Mund des Rauchers erreichen.
Diese Aufgabe wird ausgehend von einer Tabakpfeife nach dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1 erfindungsgemäss dadurch gelöst, dass der Boden der Ausnehmung, die im Pfeifenkopf vorgesehen ist, von einer zentralen, in Achsrichtung des Pfeifenkopfes verlaufenden Axialbohrung durchsetzt ist, dass der Pfeifenkopf eine Kammer aufweist, die im Boden des Pfeifenkopfes unterhalb der Ausnehmung ausgebildet und nach unten offen ist, wobei die von dieser Ausnehmung ausgehende Axialbohrung und der Rauchkanal des Pfeifenholms in diese Kammer einmünden, dass die Tabakpfeife auch noch einen Abscheidverschluss aufweist, der entfernbar ist und in der Gebrauchsstellung die untere Öffnung der Kammer verschliesst, und dass dieser Abscheidverschluss an seiner Innenseite einen Hohlraum aufweist, der als Sammelbehälter für die Rückstände aus dem Schmauchfeuer dient.
Die Erfindung wird nun an Hand der beigefügten Zeich- nung näher erläutert, die in schematischer Weise ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung zeigt.
Fig. 1 zeigt eine Gesamtansicht einer Tabakpfeife, die teilweise in Längsrichtung geschnitten ist.

Die in der Zeichnung als Beispiel dargestellte Ausfüh rungsform nach der Erfindung ist eine gerade Pfeife und weist einen Pfeifenkopf 1 auf, der mit einer Ausnehmung 2 versehen ist, die nach oben hin offen ist, wobei der untere Teil des Pfeifenkopfes bzw. sein Boden mit einem hohlen Holm 3 versehen ist dessen Achse hier rechtwinklig zur Achse des Pfeifenkopfes 1 steht; der Pfeifenholm weist einen Rauchkanal 4 auf, dessen Achse mit derjenigen des Mundstückes zusammenfällt.
Der Pfeifenkopf 1 und der seitliche Pfeifenholm 3 sind vorzugsweise aus einem Stück aus jedem beliebigen natürlichen Material wie Holz, oder Kunststoff gefertigt, wie er üblicherweise für die Fertigung bekannter Pfeifen verwendet wird. Gemäss einer nicht dargestellten Variante kann der Pfeifenkopfjede geeignete Form und einen Pfeifenholm aufweisen dessen Achse nicht rechtwinklig zur Achse des Pfeifenkopfes zu verlaufen braucht auch gebogen sein kann, derart, dass leicht gebogene oder gebogene Pfeifen vorliegen.
Weiterhin ist ein Mundstück 5 der bekannten oder einer anderen Form aus einem üblichen Material (Hartgummi, Polyäthylen, Polyamid, Horn, Bernstein, usw.) abnehmbar und in üblicher Weise am freien Ende des Pfeifenholms 3 befestigt. In der aufgesteckten Gebrauchsstellung begrenzen das Mundstück 5 und der rohrförmige Körper des Pfeifenholms 3 eine Ausnehmung 6, die, falls gewünscht, einen nicht dargestellten Filter aufnehmen kann, vorzugsweise aus offenzelligem Schaumstoff mit oder ohne Füllstoff.
Die in dem Pfeifenkopf 1 ausgebildete Ausnehmung 2 bildet den Brennraum der Pfeife, der für die Aufnahme des zu rauchenden Tabaks bestimmt ist und weist einen Boden auf, der im allgemeinen eiförmig ausgebildet ist und der von einer zentralen Achsialbohrung 7 durchsetzt ist; diese Bohrung 7 weist vorzugsweise am unteren Ende einen nach unten ausgeweiteten, durch Ansenken gebildeten Teil 7' und gegebenenfalls einen nach oben erweiterten Teil an seinem oberen Ende auf und mündet in eine Kammer 8, die im Boden des Pfeifenkopfs 1 unterhalb der Ausnehmung 2 ausgebildet und durch diese Achsialbohrung 7 mit der Ausnehmung verbunden ist. Diese Kammer 8, in welche auch der Rauchkanal 4 des Pfeifenholms 3 einmündet, ist nach unten offen und in der Gebrauchslage durch einen Abscheidverschluss 9 verschliessbar.
Bei der in Fig. 1 dargestellten Ausführungsform ist der Abscheidverschluss 9 durch eine Hohlschraube gebildet, deren Gewinde 10 in der Gebrauchslage mit einem Innengewinde zusammenwirkt, das an der Innenwand der Kammer 8 ausgebildet ist. Ausserdem gelangt der zwischen dem Kopf der Schraube 9 und seinem Gewinde 10 ausgebildete Kragen zur Anlage an eine Ringschulter 11 die am unteren Ende der Kammer 8 vorgesehen ist.
Schliesslich bildet der hohle Teil der Schraube 9 einen Auffangbehälter 12 der dazu bestimmt ist die von dem Tabak herrührenden Überreste, Aschen und Stäube, sowie die flüssigen Kondensate zu sammeln, welche Teer und insbesondere Nikotin enthalten, wodurch verhindert wird, dass diese für den Raucher unangenehmen Substanzen seinen Mund erreichen. Man hat ferner beim Gebrauch festgestellt, dass das Vorhandensein eines solchen Auffangbehälters dazu beiträgt, einen homogenen Rauch zu erhalten, der insbesondere einen ausgeglichenen Wasserdampfgehalt während der gesamten Rauchperiode aufweist, was bei den bisher üblichen Pfeifen nicht der Fall ist.
Die Hohlschraube 9 kann auch vertikale Rippen 13 aufweisen, die in das Innere der Kammer 8 hineinragen, derart, dass sie in dieser einen Turbulenzbereich für den aus dem Brennraum 2 kommenden Rauch bilden und so die Bedingungen für eine bessere Abscheidung der festen und flüssigen Rückstände aus dem Rauch in den Sammelbehälter 12 schaffen und den Rauch leicht kühlen, damit dieser niemals für den Raucher heiss ist.
Der Auffangbehälter dient also auch als Wirbelkammer.
Die Aussenfläche der Hohlschraube 9 weist ausserdem Nuten 14 auf, die ein Zuschrauben und Aufschrauben derselben mit Hilfe eines angepassten Werkzeuges oder mit einer einfachen Münze gestatten. Vorzugsweise ist diese Aussenfläche eben, so dass die Pfeife auf dieser Fläche gestellt werden kann.
Wie in der Figur 5 dargestellt ist, ein Gewinde-Einsatz 15 ist vorzugsweise in der Kammer 8 des Pfeifenkopfes 1 verleimt. Dieser Einsatz 15 ist vorzugsweise aus Kunststoff (z. B. Polybuthylenterephtalat) hergestellt, und weist einen Innengewinde auf, der mit dem Gewinde 10 des Abscheidverschlusses 9 in der Gebrauchs lage zusammenwirkt.
Aufgrund des Vorhandenseins der Achsialbohrung in dem Brennraum ist die Verbrennung der Tabakfüllung gleichmässig, d.h. dass beim Fortschreiten der Verbrennung diese den ganzen Querschnitt des Brennraumes überdeckt, da das Ansaugen der Luft in achsialer Richtung erfolgt. Dies ist ein Vorteil in Bezug auf bekannte Pfeifen, bei denen die Ansaugöffnung in Bezug auf die Achse des Brennraumes versetzt ist. Auf diese Weise erfolgt die Verbrennung des Tabaks in dem Brennraum mit der achsialen Bohrung der Pfeife gemäss der Erfindung vollständig, wodurch ausser Asche keine Rückstände zurückbleiben.
Ausserdem weist die Pfeife nach der Erfindung in Bezug auf bekannte Pfeifen den Vorteil auf, dass einerseits aufgrund des Vorhandenseins eines Abscheidverschlusses vermieden wird, dass feste und flüssige Rückstände den Mund des Rauchers erreichen und andererseits wird durch die Verwendung des für diese Kammer vorgesehenen Verschlussstückes als Auffangbehälter eine leichte Reinigung der Pfeife durch einfaches Ausspülen dieses Rückständesammlers mit Feinspritt oder Abreiben mit einem Papierhandtuch ermöglicht.
DESCRIPTION
The invention relates to a tobacco pipe and in particular to a tobacco pipe with a pipe head which has an upwardly open recess which serves as a combustion chamber for the tobacco to be smoked, the bottom of the pipe head being provided with a lateral smoke duct in the pipe spar, and on the free end of a mouthpiece is removably attached.
In the known pipes of the type mentioned above, the smoke duct in the lateral pipe spar opens laterally into the floor of the combustion chamber; it is also known that in this case the combustion takes place obliquely, as a result of which a portion of blackened tobacco and moisture remain on the bottom of the combustion chamber on the side opposite the opening, which partly evaporates during combustion and is suitable for being regularly separated. In addition, the suction opening directly adjoins the combustion chamber, and it is also known that it is more or less quickly blocked by solid and liquid residues from the smoke fire, these unpleasant tastes being sucked in with the smoke and reaching the smoker's mouth .
The object of the invention is to avoid the aforementioned disadvantages of the known tobacco pipes and to create a pipe which, on the one hand, permits uniform and complete combustion and, on the other hand, allows the solid and liquid residues resulting from the smoke to be collected and prevents these residues from opening up into the mouth reach the smoker.
This object is achieved on the basis of a tobacco pipe according to the invention in that the bottom of the recess provided in the pipe head is penetrated by a central axial bore running in the axial direction of the pipe head, that the pipe head has a chamber which is formed in the bottom of the pipe bowl below the recess and is open at the bottom, the axial bore emanating from this recess and the smoke channel of the pipe spar opening into this chamber, so that the tobacco pipe also has a separating closure which can be removed and, in the use position, the lower opening closes the chamber, and that this separating closure has a cavity on its inside which serves as a collecting container for the residues from the smoke fire.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing, which shows an exemplary embodiment of the invention in a schematic manner.

The embodiment shown in the drawing, for example, according to the invention is a straight pipe and has a pipe bowl 1 which is provided with a recess 2 which is open at the top, the lower part of the pipe bowl or its bottom having a hollow spar 3 is provided whose axis here is perpendicular to the axis of the pipe bowl 1; the pipe spar has a smoke channel 4, the axis of which coincides with that of the mouthpiece.
The pipe head 1 and the lateral pipe spar 3 are preferably made in one piece from any natural material such as wood or plastic, as is usually used for the production of known pipes. According to a variant which is not shown, the pipe bowl can have any suitable shape and a pipe pipe, the axis of which does not need to run at right angles to the pipe bowl axis, but can also be curved in such a way that there are slightly curved or curved pipes.
Furthermore, a mouthpiece 5 of the known or another shape made of a common material (hard rubber, polyethylene, polyamide, horn, amber, etc.) is removable and attached in the usual way to the free end of the pipe spar 3. In the attached position of use, the mouthpiece 5 and the tubular body of the pipe spar 3 delimit a recess 6 which, if desired, can accommodate a filter (not shown), preferably made of open-cell foam with or without filler.
The recess 2 formed in the pipe bowl 1 forms the combustion chamber of the pipe, which is intended for receiving the tobacco to be smoked and has a base which is generally egg-shaped and which is penetrated by a central axial bore 7; this bore 7 preferably has a downwardly widened part formed by countersinking 7 'and optionally a widened part at its upper end at the lower end and opens into a chamber 8 which is formed in the bottom of the pipe bowl 1 below the recess 2 and is connected to the recess by this axial bore 7. This chamber 8, into which the smoke duct 4 of the pipe spar 3 also opens, is open at the bottom and can be closed by a separating closure 9 in the position of use.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the separating closure 9 is formed by a hollow screw, the thread 10 of which, in the position of use, interacts with an internal thread which is formed on the inner wall of the chamber 8. In addition, the collar formed between the head of the screw 9 and its thread 10 comes to rest against an annular shoulder 11 which is provided at the lower end of the chamber 8.
Finally, the hollow part of the screw 9 forms a collecting container 12 which is intended to collect the remains, ashes and dusts originating from the tobacco, and the liquid condensates which contain tar and in particular nicotine, thereby preventing them from being unpleasant for the smoker Substances reach his mouth. It has also been found during use that the presence of such a collecting container helps to obtain a homogeneous smoke which, in particular, has a balanced water vapor content during the entire smoking period, which is not the case with the pipes customary hitherto.
The banjo bolt 9 can also have vertical ribs 13, which protrude into the interior of the chamber 8, in such a way that they form a turbulence region for the smoke coming from the combustion chamber 2 and thus the conditions for better separation of the solid and liquid residues create the smoke in the collecting container 12 and cool the smoke slightly so that it is never hot for the smoker.
The collecting container also serves as a swirl chamber.
The outer surface of the hollow screw 9 also has grooves 14 which permit screwing and screwing the same with the aid of an adapted tool or with a simple coin. This outer surface is preferably flat, so that the pipe can be placed on this surface.
As shown in FIG. 5, a threaded insert 15 is preferably glued in the chamber 8 of the pipe bowl 1. This insert 15 is preferably made of plastic (z. B. Polybuthylenterephtalat), and has an internal thread that cooperates with the thread 10 of the separator 9 in the use position.
Due to the presence of the axial bore in the combustion chamber, the combustion of the tobacco filling is uniform, i.e. that as the combustion progresses, it covers the entire cross-section of the combustion chamber, since the air is sucked in in the axial direction. This is an advantage in relation to known pipes, in which the suction opening is offset with respect to the axis of the combustion chamber. In this way, the tobacco is completely burned in the combustion chamber with the axial bore of the pipe according to the invention, as a result of which no residues remain apart from ash.
In addition, the pipe according to the invention with respect to known pipes has the advantage that, on the one hand, due to the presence of a separating closure, solid and liquid residues are prevented from reaching the smoker's mouth, and on the other hand, by using the closure piece provided for this chamber as a collecting container easy cleaning of the pipe by simply rinsing this residue collector with fine grit or rubbing with a paper towel.
