Fig. 1 zwei Ansichten der erfindungsgemässen Vorrichtung.
Fig. 2 die zwei Betriebszustände der Vorrichtung.

where the bore (8) is aligned with the coming (6) or with the outgoing driving tube (7), one of the transverse channels (9 or 10) is connected to the other driving tube.
2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the two transverse channels (9, 10) are perpendicular to the bore (8) and aligned with each other.
3. Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the transverse channels (9, 10) have an oval cross-section and are so far towards the open end of the bore (8) that in each of the two possible operating positions of the rotor (2) one of the Cross channels (9 or 10) just opens into one of the driving tubes (6 or 7).
The present invention relates to a device according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
A pneumatic tube station with a rotor is known from EP-Al-0 130 491, which has a continuous channel with an arcuate course. By rotating the rotor accordingly, there is the possibility of diverting a pneumatic tube bushing arriving in the incoming tube into an ejection position or a pneumatic tube bushing in a sending position into the outgoing tube. This pneumatic tube station represents a kind of driving tube switch.
When installing pneumatic tube systems, there is often the problem of having to change the direction of the travel tube. As a rule, correspondingly curved sections are inserted into the driving tube, these sections having to have relatively large radii due to the dimensions of the pneumatic tube bushings to be transported and accordingly taking up a lot of space. This applies above all to more or less right-angled changes in direction. This fact can make the installation of pneumatic tube systems very difficult or even impossible, especially in buildings with limited space.
Proceeding from this, the present invention is based on the object of specifying a solution which enables changes in direction of driving tubes in pneumatic tube systems with the smallest space requirement. This is achieved with a device as characterized in claim 1. Advantageous refinements are specified in further claims.
A preferred embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to a drawing. It shows:
Fig. 1 two views of the device according to the invention.
Fig. 2 shows the two operating states of the device.
1 shows details of the device, a vertical section on the left and a plan view on the right of the connection side of a driving tube. It consists of a housing 1, which contains a circular cylindrical rotor 2, which is rotatable about an axis 3. The rotor 2 can be made from a light metal casting. The housing 1 can consist of two parts which can be assembled and which, when assembled, enclose a cavity which accommodates the rotor 2. The distance between the surface on the circumference of the rotor 2 and the opposite wall of the cavity is only a few tenths of a millimeter. The driving tubes 6, 7, which are at right angles to one another, are connected to the housing 1 by means not shown. The connection can be made in a manner known per se, which is why it is not discussed in more detail here.
The rotor 2 is rotated via a drive 4 coupled to the axis 3, which in turn is connected, for example, via a belt to a motor 5 fastened to the housing wall. In the rotor 2 there is a rectilinear bore 8, the diameter of which is the same size as the inner diameter of the driving tubes 6, 7. The bore 8 is at least as long as the pneumatic tube bushings to be conveyed and is closed at one end. Furthermore, two transverse channels 9, 10, which are perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bore 8 and are aligned with one another, are provided in the rotor 2. In the present case, their cross section has the shape of an oval with straight long sides, corresponding to the cross section of a flat tube. Their width is, for example, approximately the same as the radius of the bore 8, and their length is somewhat smaller than the diameter of the bore 8.
They are so far shifted relative to the axis 3 to the open end of the bore 8 that they just open into one of the driving tubes. As a result, the greatest possible distance to the closed end of the bore 8 and thus an increase in the braking distance of a bushing 13 moving into the rotor 2 are achieved. The transverse channels 9, 10 are continuous, i.e. open at the edge of the rotor 2, and open into the bore 8 at its other end. The motor 5 can be caused to rotate the rotor 2 from the one operating position shown by 90 degrees to the other operating position, in the FIG the open end of the bore 8 is aligned with the other driving tube 7. The respective rotor position is detected with limit switches 11 and 12 attached to the housing 1, which are used to switch off the motor 5 after rotation.
Likewise, the motor 8 rotates the rotor 8 into the position shown, conversely.
The functioning of the device is explained with reference to FIG. 2. Starting from the position of the rotor 2 shown in FIG. 2a, it is assumed that a pneumatic tube bush 13 arrives in the device via the driving tube 6 and must be conveyed further via the driving tube 7. In this position, the conveying air used for locomotion of the bushing 13 can reach the driving pipe 7 via the bore 8 and the transverse channel 10. The other transverse channel 9 is closed by the housing 1. When it arrives in the device, the sleeve 13 first enters the bore 8. As soon as the front felt ring 14a of the sleeve 13 has passed the transverse channels 9, 10, the sleeve 13 is braked by the air cushion building up in front of it.
As soon as it is completely in the bore 8, this is determined by a detector (not shown), which then uses the control device mentioned to cause the motor 5 to move the rotor 2 by 90 degrees into the position shown in FIG.
2b shown position to rotate, in which the open end of the bore 8 is now aligned with the driving tube 7. The still effective conveying air can now act from the driving tube 6 via the transverse channel 9 and the bore 8 from behind on the other (now front) felt ring 14b. This will make the
Bush 13 ejected in the direction of the driving tube 7 from the rotor 2 and conveyed further.
With the device, it is possible to make right-angled changes of direction at any point in the track system in a confined space. Due to the position of the limit switches 11, 12, the control device mentioned must ensure that when a sleeve 13 approaches, the open end of the rotor 2 always faces the corresponding travel tube. The conveying air supply must be done during the deflection of the bush, i.e. during the rotation of the rotor 2, are not interrupted, which is why the control for the conveying air is relatively simple. From the described mode of operation of the device it follows that the cross section of the transverse channels 9, 10 is to be selected at least so large that sufficient conveying air can get from one driving tube into the other in both operating positions of the device.
The cross-sectional shape is arbitrary: for example, circular cylindrical bores could also be provided as transverse channels 9-10.
The application of the principle on which the invention is based is not restricted to the extreme case described above, where the incoming driving tube is perpendicular to the moving driving tube. With a corresponding design, the device described can also be used for changes in direction with a different angle. For this purpose, in addition to the corresponding arrangement of the two travel tube connections on the housing 1, the transverse channels 9 must also be used.
10 are provided such that in one of the two operating positions of the rotor 2, where the bore 8 is aligned with the coming or going driving tube, one of the two transverse channels 9, 10 is connected to the other driving tube.
