3. Valve according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a sealing ring (6) is provided in the sealing surface of the shut-off element (4, 7).
4. Valve according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the bellows is designed so that it resists both in its interior and from the outside acting differential pressure.
5. Valve according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the actuating rod is surrounded by a seal in the form of a further bellows.
The present invention relates to a valve with a shut-off element provided in a housing and a seat and an actuating rod for the shut-off element, which rod can be connected to actuating means outside the valve housing.
In the valves known today, high actuation forces and thus appropriately dimensioned actuation devices (e.g. electric motors) are required to actuate them, at least at high differential pressures.
Because of the high forces that occur, the sealing inserts between the shut-off device and the seat, be they metal or plastomer seals, often have a relatively short service life.
The purpose of the present invention is now to create a valve which avoids the above disadvantages.
This is achieved according to the invention in a valve of the type mentioned at the outset by the characterizing features of claim 1.
The shut-off device preferably consists only of an outer ring which is connected to a hub on the actuating rod. A sealing ring can be provided on the sealing surface of the outer ring.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing.
The only figure in the drawing shows a vertical section through a valve according to the drawing.
In a valve housing 1, with an inlet nozzle 2 and an outlet nozzle 3, a shut-off element in the form of a ring is provided. A valve seat 5 is provided on the housing 1, directly under the ring 4. A sealing ring 6 is provided in the sealing surface on the front of the ring 4.
The ring 4 is connected via connecting webs to a hub 7 on an actuating rod 8. The rod 8 leads from the housing 1 to an actuating motor 9. For sealing the rod 8, a bellows 10 running closely above it is provided in a manner known per se.
The essential part of the invention, however, lies in the bellows 11, which is on the back of the shut-off element or
of the ring 4 is arranged.
The seal is made via the seal 6 and the bellows 11, the bellows 11 being designed so that it withstands the differential pressure acting on it in both directions. The position of the seal is chosen so that the smallest possible differential pressures act on the actuating device of the shut-off device at differential pressures at the valve.
This is made possible by the fact that the shut-off element can be flowed through, that is to say the differential pressure practically does not act on the shut-off element.
The design of the valve has the following advantages:
The valve can also be operated with the smallest actuation force at very high differential pressures, that is to say opened or closed. The differential pressures above the closed valve are supported directly on the housing and not on the shut-off element as in the case of known valves.
The actuation force is calculated from the sum of the bellows spring constant and the required sealing force.
Since smaller actuation forces are required, the valve becomes cheaper and smaller in size.
Since there are no high sealing forces at the valve seat, a much longer service life is achieved, particularly with metal seals or plastomer seals.
In order to keep the spring constant of the bellows small and still withstand the differential pressures that occur, multi-walled metal spring bellows can be installed, for example.
In the case of the valve, the bellows 10 and 11 are connected on the medium wetted side to the outer ring 4 and the housing 1 or the hub 7 in such a way that there are no dead spaces or gaps that are not easy to clean.
