Abstract
In order to effectively de-ice car windows with the aid of the window washing device, the washing fluid is carried to the spray nozzles (6B) via a heat exchanger (1). The washing fluid is conducted through the heat exchanger (1) by means of a coiled pipe (1A). In order to achieve rapid heating of the washing fluid after the engine has started, the heat exchanger (1) is installed in the preheating channel (4, 4A) between outlet collector (2) and air filter (5). <IMAGE>

PATENTANSPRÜCHE

PATENT CLAIMS
1. Device on a car for defrosting car windows, characterized in that a heat exchanger (1) is switched on in the preheat air duct between the outlet collector and the air filter, through which a heating element (IA) connected to the window washer pump (7) is passed, so that it is short After starting the engine, the windshield washer fluid flowing through the heating element is heated by the preheating air flow.
2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the heating element (IA) lies in a housing switched on in the preheating duct.
De-icing car windows from cars parked outdoors is an old problem. At low outside temperatures, this is not possible with the normal windscreen washer, even if the washing liquid contains sufficient antifreeze. The mechanical scraping used in most cases is tedious and often not sustainable, because a new layer of frost quickly forms on the strongly cooled disc when driving.
The object of the invention is to remedy this, and proposes to heat the windshield washer fluid using a heat exchanger by means of the air which is led to the air filter and is heated by the outlet collector and which is heated in this way
Spray liquid on the disc. The heated windscreen washer fluid also effectively removes stubborn dirt.
The essential features of the invention are defined in the characterizing part of claim 1. An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.
With list the housing of a heat exchanger designated, which is switched on in the air flow. which leads from an interconnection 2 surrounding the outlet collector to the air filter 5.
The outlet collector is the collector pipe in which the hot combustion gases coming from the individual cylinders are collected, where high temperatures occur immediately after the engine is started. The heat exchanger is switched on in the preheating duct via the two pipe sections 4, 4A. A coil of good heat-conducting material, preferably copper. is inserted into the windscreen washer fluid line at 6 and 6A. About 2 minutes after starting the engine, sufficiently hot air flows through the heat exchanger to heat the windshield washer fluid passed through the coil 1A. that the ice on the disc can be removed. As usual, the windscreen washer system consists of the pump 7 to be switched on via the switch 7A, the reservoir 8 and the spray nozzles 6B.
The preheating duct flap 3 in front of the air filter 5 is actuated by a valve 3A controlled by a thermostat, this flap being fully open at the beginning and being closed successively as the temperature of the motor increases; this also regulates the temperature of the washing liquid reaching the pane in the desired sense.
