10. Use according to claim 9, characterized in that it is fed to ruminants.
The present invention relates to a method for producing a feed suitable for partially covering the energy and active ingredient requirements of animals, in particular farm animals.
On the one hand, it is known to feed fat in the form of particles below 50 llm in size and a melting point above the body temperature of the animals to be fed in dry form to cover the energy requirement.
Rumen hydrolysis can be avoided and a good absorption of the fat in the subsequent digestive tract and thus an intensive, inexpensive energy supply can be guaranteed (European patent application 0 037 376).
On the other hand, it is known that in many farm animals, especially ruminants, numerous vitamins, in particular the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and the precursor to vitamin A, p-carotene, are sensitive to oxidation and in some cases already during storage and in the course of Feeding process, especially in the rumen passage of ruminants, very easily lose effectiveness. With various amino acids, especially methionine, the focus is less on instability problems, but on the unwanted degradation by the rumen flora. Methionine is the first limiting amino acid in animal nutrition, and it quickly has a negative effect on the animal's performance if it is not available to the animal in sufficient quantity, which is the case if it is largely used as a nutrient for the microorganisms serves in the rumen.
The ss-carotene influences. irrespective of its function as a preliminary stage of vitamin A, especially the fertility of the animals, which, if deficient in animal husbandry as a whole, causes considerable economic damage every year.
For this reason, efforts have been underway for some time to protect these active ingredients, which are extremely important for the nutrition of high-performance animals, on the one hand from a loss of activity, mainly caused by oxidation, and on the other hand, against undesired degradation in the stomach, especially in the rumen of ruminants.
In the case of fat-soluble vitamins, this was mainly aimed at by coating with gelatins, which causes very expensive production costs and, moreover, does not provide any protection against undesired breakdown in the rumen. A protective cover made of cross-linked formaldehyde was constructed for the amino acids, especially methionine. This process is also economically very expensive and has the further disadvantage that formaldehyde is a bactericidal substance and could therefore attack the intestinal flora.
The present invention is based on the object of providing a feed or a feeding method which at the same time allows the animal to supply energy and active ingredients without the disadvantages mentioned above. This feed and process is described in the claims. The special conditions to be observed and the possibilities that arise are described in more detail below.
It has been proven that such fat or mixture is not hydrolyzed in the rumen and is therefore practically protected from breakdown in the rumen, that is to say it migrates through and is fully available to the animal for resorption in the further digestive tract. The starting product is a fat that meets the requirements for the melting point, which is above the body temperature of farm animals.
This condition is usually achieved through hydrogenation. The fat is also enriched in a molten state, with any concentration of fat-soluble vitamins, especially ss-carotene, and with the desired amino acids, especially methionine, in various concentrations, and homogeneous mixtures are produced. The liquid fat enriched with the active ingredients, which acts as a matrix for these active ingredients in various concentrations, is then sprayed and crystallized into fine droplets of the highest 50 llm size in a cold air spray crystallization process, so that a powdery, free-flowing product arises. The fat-active ingredient mixture in particles of at most 50 µm must also have a melting point which is above the body temperature of farm animals.
The fat matrix now contains these active ingredients in a homogeneous distribution and the active ingredients are enclosed in a complex manner in the fat crystal structure. The active substances are now protected against undesired reactions (oxidation reactions) by this method and as a further, important factor it is now possible to pass the protected active substances through the rumen, where they are fully available for resorption in the subsequent digestive tract for the animal.
With this method according to the invention, it is now possible for the livestock to have both a high energy requirement through the use of fat. that is not broken down in the rumen, and on the other hand sensitive. and before a pan
to administer active ingredients to be protected in one product.
As a further step, it is also possible with this process to produce medical products, especially Protect antibiotics to the extent that the trapped fat in the matrix migrates through the rumen without already having an effect there and thereby inactivating the rumen flora, so that the antibiotics only become effective in the digestive tracts that follow in the rumen. With this method, antibiotics can be used in a much more targeted manner and in lower concentrations.
For the production of feed, any
Active substance concentrations in fat, which acts as a matrix substance, dissolved and then crystallized. The drug concentrations and combinations can be completely adapted to the requirements and performance goals of the farm animals.
So it is possible to put an amino acid alone in the fat
Incorporate matrix or in combinations with others, or the ss-carotene can be incorporated alone or in combination with other fat-soluble vitamins or all in combination with amino acids. Medical products such as antibiotics can also be installed at the same time.
