PATENTANSPRÜCHE

PATENT CLAIMS
1. A process for the continuous casting of light metal alloys by supplying the melt, the ultrasound effect on the melt with at least one radiator for the purpose of refining and refining the structure of the ingot crystallizing from the melt with its simultaneous removal, characterized in that the melt (3) for the purpose of refining and Refinement of the structure (9) of the casting block (5) crystallizing from the melt (3) is subjected to an ultrasound effect uniformly over the cross section of the melt (3), see below
with an intensity of 2 to 60 W / cm2 depending on the size of the cross-sectional area of the solidifying casting block (5), and the emitter (6) into the melt (3) to a depth of 12 to B / 4 of the sound wavelength in the melting material ( 3) is immersed, the temperature of the melt (3) being maintained 10-150 ° C. higher than the liquidus temperature of the melt material (3).
2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the refining of the melt is carried out by a porous material (8), wherein between the emitter (6) and the porous material (8) a distance of B / 12 to B / 4 Sound wavelength is maintained in the melting material (3).
The present invention relates to metallurgy and in particular to methods for the continuous casting of light metal alloys.
The present invention can advantageously be used in the casting of light metal alloys from which deformed semi-finished products, for example plates, various profiles, etc., are produced.
In the production of light metal alloys, in which one of the distinguishing features is the high chemical activity in the molten state, great attention is paid to refining the melting material to remove non-metallic additives.
The requirements for metal purity with regard to hydrogen and in particular to solid non-metallic oxide inclusions are becoming ever higher. In a number of products made of aluminum alloys, for example in the capacitor foil, the oxide inclusions over 10 llm are not permitted.
On the other hand, the cast blocks made of high-strength light metal alloys with a medium and in particular large cross-section (for example with a diameter of 650 mm and larger or a cross-section of 400 x 1200 mm and larger) have a coarse-grained fan structure, an increased hydrogen concentration and a porosity even when vacuum metal casting.
As a result of the peculiarities of the structure formation in cast blocks with large dimensions and the resulting porosity, the plasticity of the cast block is reduced and the tendency for crack formation during casting is increased, which limits the size of the cast blocks and reduces the technological flexibility in the subsequent compression molding.
Due to the peculiarities of the continuous casting technology of light metal alloys, extensive industrial use of the ultrasound treatment of the melt for the purpose of effective metal refinement and refinement of the cast structure was required.
A method is known for the continuous casting of light metal alloys by supplying the melt, the ultrasound effect on the melt with at least one emitter for the purpose of refining and refining the structure of the casting block crystallizing from the melt with its simultaneous removal.
The process mentioned is carried out at high casting speeds (e.g. 30 cm / min) and the melt is briefly sonicated, which enables casting of casting blocks with small cross sections. When transitioning to the casting of casting blocks with medium and large cross-section, the method mentioned can be used to a limited extent because the casting speed is reduced to 1-2 cm / min and the treatment time is increased accordingly, as a result of which the melt is greatly overheated and the liquid part of it is formed the melt crystallizing casting block emerges beyond the mold.
According to the above-mentioned method, a uniform structure refinement is also disturbed when the dimensions of the cast blocks are enlarged.
According to the above-mentioned process, an insufficiently overheated melt is also briefly sonicated, as a result of which effective refining of the melt from the gaseous and solid non-metallic additives is not achieved.
The invention was based on the object of developing a method for the continuous casting of light metal alloys, according to which the ultrasound effect on the melt is carried out for the purpose of refining and refining the structure of the casting block crystallizing from the melt in such a way that increased plasticity of light metal alloys during casting and in the subsequent processes Deformation is guaranteed.
This is achieved in that in a process for the continuous casting of light metal alloys by the supply of the melt, the ultrasound effect on the melt with at least one radiator for the purpose of refining and refining the structure of the casting block crystallizing from the melt with its simultaneous removal according to the invention the ultrasound effect on the melt Refining and microstructure refinement of the casting block crystallizing from the melt was carried out uniformly over the cross-section of the melt with an intensity of 2 to 60 W / cm2 depending on the size of the cross-sectional area of the solidifying casting block and the emitter in the melt to a depth of B / 12 until B / 4 of the sound wavelength is immersed in the melt,
maintaining the temperature of the melt at a level around 10. 150 "C above the liquidus temperature of the melting material.
The refining of the melt is expediently carried out using a porous material, a distance of B / 12 to B / 4 of the sound wavelength in the melting material being maintained between the emitter and the porous material.
The present invention makes it possible to reduce the content of solid non-metallic inclusions in the ingot metal by twice and the hydrogen content by 2-3 times, whereby the plasticity of the ingots produced from light metal alloys and during the casting process and during its subsequent processing is increased.
The present invention also ensures the formation of a particularly refined structure in the casting block from light metal alloys, the casting grain being the same or a smaller size than that of the den
has a third cell, which causes a high plasticity of the casting block made of light metal alloy and during casting as well as during its subsequent deformation.
The invention is explained below using exemplary embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which it shows:
Fig. 1 - the representation of a well-known device for the continuous casting of light metal alloys, with which the inventive method is carried out (front view in section);
2 shows a device for the continuous casting of light metal alloys, on which the method according to the invention is carried out with refining through a porous material (front view in section);
3 microstructure of a casting block of the alloy system Al-Cu-Mg with a diameter of 650 mm in the annealing state with subdendrite grain, which was produced in the method according to the invention (enlarged by 100 times).
The process for the continuous casting of light metal alloys consists in that the melt is fed in and, for the purpose of refining and refining the structure of the casting block crystallizing from the melt, at least with one emitter evenly across the cross-section with an intensity of 2 to 60 W / cm2 depending on the size of the cross-sectional area of the solidifying cast block is sonicated. The emitter is immersed in the melt to a depth of B / 12 to B / 4 of the sound wavelength in the material to be melted and the temperature of the melt is maintained 10-150 ° C higher than the liquidus temperature of the metal melt. The casting block is then pulled off.
According to the method according to the invention, the refining is carried out by a porous material, a distance of B / 12 to B / 4 of the sound wavelength in the melting material being maintained between the emitter and the porous material.
The process according to the invention for the continuous casting of light metal alloys can be carried out on any known device using an ultrasound effect on the melt for the purpose of refining and refining the structure of the casting block crystallizing from the melt.
The device for the continuous casting of light metal alloys in one of the known embodiments contains a mold 1 (FIG. 1) into which the melt 3 is fed via a distribution channel 2. In the liquid part 4 of the casting block 5 which crystallizes from the melt 3, an ultrasound emitter 6 is immersed to a depth of B / 8 of the sound wavelength in the melting material 3 of the part 4. The solidified part 7 of the casting block 5 is pulled out of the mold 1.
According to the invention, a porous material 8 (FIG. 2) is arranged in the known device in the direction of movement of the melt 3. The distance between the radiator 6 and the material 8 is B / 8 of the sound wavelength in the melting material 3 of the part 4.

The structure 9 (FIG. 3) contains subdendrite grains 10 refined to 0.1 mm with the same or a smaller size than the dendrite cell (not shown in FIG.).
The method according to the invention is carried out on the known apparatus for the continuous casting of light metal alloys in the following way.
The melt 3 (FIG. 1) is fed into the mold via the distribution channel 2. In the mold 1, the melt 3 is irradiated with the emitter 6 for the purpose of refining and refining the structure 9 (FIG. 3) of the casting block 5 crystallizing from the melt 3 (FIG. 1). The sonication is carried out uniformly over the cross section of the melt 3 with an intensity of 2 to 60 W / cm 2 and at a temperature which exceeds the liquidus temperature of the melt material 3 by 10-150 ° C. depending on the size of the cross-sectional area of the solidifying casting block 5.
According to the invention, the melt 3 is passed through the porous material 8 (FIG. 2), which is under the influence of the ultrasound emitter 6, to remove non-metallic admixtures.
The following exemplary embodiments are given for better understanding of the present invention.
