IV-IV in Figur 1.

The present invention relates to a method and a device for press pipe jacking in the groundwater area, a mining device being attached to the tip. So far, only methods of press pipe jacking were known, which can only be used if soil layers that are above the groundwater level are penetrated. Propulsion in the groundwater area is not possible, because otherwise the entire material would flow against the chest during work.
If, therefore, press pipe jacking is to be carried out in the groundwater areas, the prerequisite is that the groundwater level is lowered sufficiently.
However, lowering the groundwater using the known means is uneconomical and, in addition, is only possible by three to four meters in connection with known methods of press pipe jacking.
The present invention has for its object to be able to carry out a press pipe jacking in the groundwater areas without the measures and restrictions mentioned above. The solution is that a closure is arranged behind the mining device, through which compressed air is fed into the space containing the mining device, and that the excavation is discharged through a lock of the closure. Due to the overpressure on the breast, which must essentially correspond to the prevailing hydrostatic pressure, the water on the breast is now displaced and the propulsion can take place without lowering the groundwater level through the groundwater area.
A particular problem with this procedure is that, especially in the case of loose, permeable soil, for example in gravel, the compressed air supplied quickly escapes upwards through the soil and the groundwater, which jeopardizes the economics or the practicability of the process at all. To solve this problem, a sealant to reduce the air permeability of the floor can be blown into the shield area in front of the mining device. The tests carried out have shown that this measure makes a decisive contribution to the economic viability of the process or even permits its implementation in the first place.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.
FIG. 1 shows a schematic cross section through a construction site,
FIG. 2 shows an enlarged partial section through the entry point of the press pipe jacking through a sheet pile wall, and
Figures 3 and 4 each show a cross section along the lines III-III and IV-IV in Figure 1.
According to FIG. 1, the press pipe is driven from a shaft 1, which is secured and sealed by a sheet pile wall 2. At the location of the shaft 1 from which the press pipe is to be driven, an approach sealing ring 3 is concreted on the sheet pile wall 2, which has a round opening 4 for receiving the jacking devices and pipes. On the ring 3 are not shown in Figure 1, but visible in Figure 2 annular sealing lips 5 are attached. According to FIGS. 1 and 2, the sheet pile wall within the ring 3 is broken through when the advance is already advanced, but this breakthrough takes place in the manner described later only at the beginning of the actual drive. The groundwater table is labeled S.
At the head of the press pipe jacking, the actual mining devices are arranged, namely a tubular controllable shield 6, which can be closed by means of a gate with four wings 7. The hydraulic presses for actuating the gate leaves 7 are not shown.
Behind the shield 6 is a machine tube 8, in which a controllable mining machine 9 known per se and a conveyor belt 10 are installed in a manner known per se. Located under the exit end of the conveyor belt 10
a trolley 11 for the mined material.
The machine tube 8 is followed by a lock tube 12. On the one hand, it has a lock chamber 13 for the trolley 11, which can be sealed at the front and rear by suitable gates and through which the trolley 11 can be conveyed. The lock gates on the front face of the lock tube 12 are shown in FIG. 4 and designated 14. They can be operated by means of a hydraulic press 15. The lock gate at the rear end of the lock chamber 13 is designed similarly. Above the lock chamber 13 there is a driver's cab 16 in the lock tube 12 for the operator.
This driver's cab is closed at the front by a sealed door 17, which can be seen in FIG. In this door, two pressure-tight and sealed windows 17a are installed, through which the operator can observe the machine parts lying in front. There is also a television system installed, as well as 8 spotlights in the machine tube to illuminate the dismantling point and the machine parts. The door 17 can be opened to exit the front if necessary and to maintain or repair the machines or, if necessary, to intervene manually or with other suitable means in the event of difficulties for the mining machine 9. The driver's cab 16 is also closed at the rear with a pressure-resistant door 18, so that atmospheric pressure or excess pressure can prevail in this driver's cab as desired.
The driver's cab can thus serve as a lock for the operator. As indicated in FIG. 1, equipment parts, for example a compressor, can be arranged behind the lock tube 12 in the foremost tube 20.
In the shaft 1 there is a hydraulic jack press group 19 of conventional design. It allows a step-by-step pre-pressing of the machine parts described above and the pipes 20 connected to them. If the pipe presses have been propelled by one pipe length, the hydraulic press group 19 is reversed and reset so far that a further pipe can be used.
As FIG. 4 shows, the lock tube 12 is penetrated by a plurality of pipelines, of which the larger lines 21 are used for the passage of compressed air through the lock tube, possibly for the passage of pumped water and the like. Smaller lines 22 can serve various purposes, including the passage of electrical cables and in particular the passage of a dusty or powdery sealant.
The supply lines, not shown, for the compressed air and the sealant are suspended in the tubes 20 at the top or on the side in such a way that they do not hinder the inspection and especially the extension and retraction of the trolley 11.
These feed lines are not shown in FIG. 1 and they are connected above the shaft 1 to corresponding devices, namely on the one hand a compressor and on the other hand, for example, to a gunitting machine for blowing in the sealant. The mouths of the supply lines for the sealant supplied with compressed air are located outside the gate wings 7 on the front wall 6a of the shield, and they are designated by 23.
The extrusion tube is essentially driven as follows:
As already indicated above, after creating the shaft and the approach sealing ring 3 and after installing the press 19, at least the shield 6, but preferably the parts 6, 8 and 12 are lowered together into the shaft and the shield 6 into the opening 4 of the starting sealing ring 3 retracted. Compressed air is then fed in and, under pressure, the sheet pile wall 2 is welded away in front of the sign and broken down into pieces which can be removed. Then the further advance continues under pressure through the sheet pile wall to the material to be mined. The mining machine 9 is now used and, if necessary, sealant is also supplied.
Since a good view for the operator is a prerequisite for optimum dismantling, 7 sealants can be supplied alternately with the gates closed, so that the good view is maintained in the machine tube 8. Then the sealant supply is interrupted, the gate leaves 7 are opened and further dismantling and driving can begin. Since the sealant does not penetrate very deeply, the compressed air loss can become too high again after a relatively short time, so that the gate leaves 7 have to be closed again in order to supply sealant again. In this way, if the soil is poor and loose, it can be broken down at short intervals and then sealant added again, while in thicker soil it is possible to work in longer sections or, under favorable conditions, no sealant has to be added at all.
Fly ash, also known as space chamber extinguishing, is suitable as a sealant. It is the fly ash that results from the combustion of coal. As mentioned, it can be blown into the chest by means of a normal guniting machine via tube units. The blowing pressure on the guniting machine is around 3 atm.
The pressure at the mouths 23 is around 0.5 to 1 atm.
The following example illustrates the effect of the sealant. When driving through a wall gravel layer and with a pipe diameter of 180 cm, it was practically impossible without sealant to build up a usable overpressure and this with a delivery rate of the compressor of 35 m3 / minute. By introducing sealant, the pores can be closed within less than 5 minutes, the pressure could be built up to the required level and the air flow rate practically dropped to zero.
It is not absolutely necessary to displace all water from the construction site by overpressure. In order not to have to work with excess pressure, a water level up to 10-20 cm above the lowest point of the sign can be allowed. It is also not absolutely necessary to work continuously with overpressure during the whole drive, because in particularly dense, for example loamy layers, the water entering can be continuously pumped out. Furthermore, it is advantageous to install gate valves directly in front of the mouths 23 of the sealant lines, which prevent the supply lines from allowing contaminants, moisture or water to flow back under the prevailing excess pressure. It is very important that the sealant can always be blown in completely dry.
After loading, the trolley 11 will be extended through the lock chamber 13, it being conveyed hydraulically in the area of the lock and by means of a cable pull in the area of the tubes 20. After leaving the pipes 20, the cart is lifted out of the shaft 1 and emptied. It then returns to the working position shown in the machine tube 8.
If you reach the end shaft with the press pipe jack, which is designed accordingly to shaft 1, there are various options for driving through the sheet pile wall. If the base has relatively low water permeability, a hole large enough can be cut in the sheet pile wall and then inserted into the shaft, with seeping water being continuously pumped out. If the soil is more permeable, you can only ram in the sheet pile wall, then break out and drive through the sheet pile wall from the driving side under excess pressure and stuff the gap between the hole in the sheet pile wall with a quick tie, for example, and then lift out the shaft.
Finally, before breaking through the sheet pile wall, the soil around the entry point of the press pipe jacking can be injected and thus sufficiently hardened and sealed so that the sheet pile wall can then be broken out and driven through in accordance with the first-mentioned procedure.
