Phase I, ascension

CLAIMS
1. Lifting device for a motor vehicle comprising a hollow body (3) slidably mounted on at least one tubular support (8) erected on a base (9), characterized in that it forms a sealed assembly provided with a valve d compressed air intake (l), all so that, by injecting compressed air into part of the sealed assembly, the hollow body (3) moves from bottom to top on the tubular support (8) .
2. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the tubular support comprises two elements, one of which (7) is slidably mounted on the other (8).
3. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the compressed air intake valve (1) is mounted in the wall of the hollow body (3).
4. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises a regulator (2) mounted in the wall of the hollow body (3).
5. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises a lifting finger (5) articulated to the hollow body (3).
6. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the hollow body (3) comprises on either side of the ratchet guide members (4) engaged on rack rails (6) erected on the base (9) .
The invention relates to a lifting device for a motor vehicle comprising a hollow body slidably mounted on at least one tubular support erected on a base.
Many lifting devices of this type are known, which are actuated manually by means of a jack, the operation of which is slow and difficult.
To overcome the drawbacks of known lifting devices,
The device according to the invention is characterized in that it forms a sealed assembly provided with a compressed air intake valve, the whole so that, by injection of compressed air into a part of the assembly waterproof, the hollow body moves from bottom to top on the tubular support.
The accompanying drawing shows schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of the lifting device according to the invention.
Fig. I is a front elevation view thereof.
Fig. 2 is a side elevation view.
Fig. 3 is a partial view, in axial section of FIG. 2.
The apparatus represented in the drawing comprises the following essential mechanical elements, namely: a hollow metallic body 3 of cast iron, steel or copper, comprising a pneumatic compression valve 1, a screw decompressor 2 and two pistons 7, 8 in steel, extendable and retractable, fitting into each other. At the lower end of the second piston 8 of smaller diameter is mounted a flat steel foot 9, with non-slip reliefs, on which are symmetrically welded on each side two rack-and-pinion safety rails 6, mounted vertically and sliding laterally against the hollow body 3, in ratchet guides 4, to stabilize and keep locked, as it rises, the actuator under load.
On a base, behind the hollow body 3 and halfway up, is disposed a foldable lifting finger 5 intended to be inserted in a housing located under the chassis or the body of motor vehicles.
This device can be used in all cases where motor vehicle lifting operations are carried out.
The operation of the device is as follows.
Phase I, ascent
After having introduced the lifting finger 5 of the device well at the bottom of the above-mentioned housing, under the vehicle, the connection of a bottle of compressed air is screwed onto the valve 1 and the tightening of the screw of the decompressor is checked; it suffices to inject the compressed air which acts immediately and in the following manner, according to the design of the device chosen, that is to say by simple mechanical thrust on the pistons 7, 8.
Phase II, descent
After unlocking the pawls of the rack rails 6, it is sufficient, for the first device model, to simply decompress the cylinder by unlocking the screw of the decompressor 2.
