Description
The invention relates to a process for the production of artificial stone elements with a surface structure, in which a mortar mixture is poured into a molding box, from the bottom of which elevations corresponding to the desired surface structure protrude, and then compacted and placed for curing, and a device for carrying it out.
A method of this type can be found in German publication I 189 000. The elevations projecting from the bottom of the molding box in the known device partially have the shape of webs or strips which form joint-like depressions on the surface of the finished artificial stone element.
It has been shown that although the surface structuring by means of a correspondingly profiled molded box floor can revitalize the surface of the artificial stone element produced therewith, the impression of a stone covering made of small-sized natural stones can be achieved in no way with such artificial stone elements, since in one Association of small-sized natural stones by the color gradations and by the different color of the bottom of the joints an enlivening is achieved, which is not present in a striking manner in a covering formed with the artificial stone elements made in a known manner.
The object of the present invention is accordingly to produce artificial stone elements with a surface structure in such a way that the impression of a natural stone covering, in particular of a covering made of small-sized natural stones, can be approximated better.
In a method of the type outlined at the outset, this object is achieved according to the invention in that before the filling of the mortar mixture, a material layer which is different in color from this is introduced into the molding box to a level which is at least exceeded by some of the elevations, and then that Mortar mixture is filled up to the desired thickness of the artificial stone element.
The finished artificial stone element, which has been produced in this way, has a surface structure in which the depressions at the bottom have a different color from the elevations, so that, for example, a joint material that is different from the stone elements is simulated when the joints are imitated.
Es stellen dar: The invention is explained in more detail below by the description of embodiments or exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawing. They represent:

Es sei The molding box shown in FIG. 1 has a molding frame 1 which, in a practical embodiment, is designed to be divisible, but this is not shown in detail in FIG. 1. The bottom of the molding box is formed by a model plate 2, which is inserted into the molding frame 1 and is deformable, made of synthetic rubber or natural rubber or of a tough-elastic plastic, which has slightly tapered, wall-like webs 3 which delimit honeycomb-like depressions 4 of the model plate 2 , so that the webs 3 form a grid arrangement. The webs 3 do not necessarily have to form a square grid, but can be provided in any arrangement so that decorative small plaster patterns can be imitated within the format specified by the mold frame 1. ferner bemerkt, dass in Fig. 1 eine verhältnismässig geringe Anzahl wabenartiger Vertiefungen 4 gezeigt ist, welche auf der Oberfläche des fertigen Kunststeinelementes einem imitierten Steinelement entsprechen. Bei praktischen Ausführungsformen ist selbstverständlich eine verhältnismässig grosse Anzahl von wabenartigen Vertiefungen 4 vorgesehen, beispielsweise eine Anzahl von 50 bis 70 derartigen Bereichen. furthermore noted that a relatively small number of honeycomb-like depressions 4 is shown in FIG. 1, which correspond to an imitation stone element on the surface of the finished artificial stone element. In practical embodiments, of course, a relatively large number of honeycomb-like depressions 4 is provided, for example a number of 50 to 70 such areas.
Instead of the model plate 2 made of deformable material, a base plate 5a can be placed on a vibrating table 5, on which the mold frame 1 is placed, according to the embodiment according to FIG. A web grid 6 consisting of tough elastic material, which acts as a template and forms conically tapering openings in the direction of the surface of the base plate 5a, which form the shape of the imitated stone elements on the finished artificial stone element, is fastened to the base plate 5a in a suitable manner .
To carry out the method, see FIGS. 2 and 3, before a mortar mixture 8 is poured into the mold cavity in the molding box, a material layer 7 is first introduced at such a height that the elevations projecting from the bottom of the molding box, i.e. the webs 3 or the web grid 6 are not covered by the material layer 7, but rather protrude slightly above their level. The material layer 7 can be formed by an initially dry sand layer or natural stone split layer, which is sprinkled into the molding box, which can be done by means of a separate device, which will be discussed in more detail below. It is also possible to pour the material layer 7 into the molding box as a surface mortar mixture, which contains natural stone split and cement with a suitable water content and is shaken after pouring in such a way that parts of the surface mortar mixture that are located on the apex areas of the Have webs 3 or the web grid 6 set down, slide down into the honeycomb-like recesses 4. In certain cases, the shaking process can be omitted. It can be observed that the mortar mixture filled in after the surface mortar mixture clears the apex areas of the elevations of the mold box floor from the differently colored mortar components initially deposited thereon.
For the implementation of the method it is not of crucial importance that the surface-mortar mixture or the poured, initially dry natural stone split layer is of the same height in all honeycomb-like depressions of the mold box base. For the desired optical impression of the artificial stone element, it is only important that the apex areas of the elevations or webs 3 or of the web grid 6 protrude above the level of the material layer 7.
Finally, the mortar mixture 8 is applied over the material layer 7, so that the desired thickness of the artificial stone element is finally created. In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, the mortar mixture 8 is introduced in two layers 8a and 8b, layer 8a being colored by color additives so that the desired coloring of the joint base on the finished artificial stone element is achieved. In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the mortar mixture 8 has a different color overall from the material layer 7 and thus determines the color of the joint base on the finished artificial stone element.
After the material layer 7 has been poured in, a component of the mortar layer 8 introduced above binds during the
Solidification of the artificial stone element by pressing in such a way that the different material layers find a secure mutual hold to one another.
If the hardening of the artificial stone element is brought about by a pressing process before hardening, the artificial stone element can be molded immediately, for example pressed out of the molding box while lifting it, and is turned off until it has fully hardened. For this form of the production process, the webs 3 or the web grid 6, which are made of deformable material, have a cross section which tapers upwards in order to avoid places which, during the shaping before hardening, could cause the casting to be destroyed.
However, if the filled molding box is shaken and set down to solidify the filled material, so that the artificial stone element in the molding box hardens or, in any case, the model plate 2 is separated from the artificial stone element after it has hardened, such a cross-sectional shape of the webs 3 can be selected that the after Formation are undercut in the joints formed in the artificial stone element. Nevertheless, the separation of the model plate 2 from the artificial stone element is possible due to the resilient nature of the webs 3.
Artificial stone elements which have been prefabricated in the manner described are ideally suited for further processing by pouring the joints molded into the artificial stone element with a different colored material. Artificial stone elements produced in this way can also be used indoors, since cleaning is easily possible due to the closed surface and also completely smooth surfaces can be achieved, which can be wiped, waxed and polished just like polished natural stone slabs.
To fill the joints, an epoxy resin mixed with sand fillers is preferably used, which is colored in the desired manner and adheres well to the artificial stone material.
As already indicated at the beginning, the material layer 7 can be filled in by a device in such a way that only certain honeycomb-like depressions of the model plate 2 within the mold frame 1 receive such a material layer which completely spreads out within the depressions 4 delimited by the webs 3, while it doesn't exist at all in other specializations. It turns out that in this way it is possible to imitate small-colored plaster elements of different colors within the format specified by the mold frame 1 without the coloration appearing cloudy and extending over the joint areas, so that the visual impression of a bandage composed of individual natural stone elements is deceptively imitated .
Finally, it should be pointed out the special advantage of using artificial stone elements, which are produced according to the described method, to produce a variety of patterns of the entire slab covering, the individual slabs merely being rotated in a certain arrangement. The color highlighting of the recesses imitating the joints in the surfaces of the artificial stone elements and, if necessary, the color contrast of individual rows of small paving elements gives a covering produced from the artificial stone elements proposed here a particularly appealing appearance.
