4. Installation according to claim 3, characterized by a distributing wheel making it possible to supply several prisoner loaders from a single supply.
5. Installation according to claim I, characterized by a distributor wheel in the center of the mold supplying several imprints from a single prisoner loader.
The present invention relates to a molding installation comprising a mold for plastics or injected metals, intended to produce parts comprising prisoners or inserts embedded in the molded material.
Currently, all prisoners or inserts are introduced into the mold during its opening. Then the mold is closed and the material is injected. After a certain time necessary for solidification, the mold is opened and the molded part is ejected. The automatic positioning of the prisoners in the molds is ensured by automata which introduce a charger between the two parts of the mold, and which place the prisoners in the housings provided for this purpose in the mold. To ensure the safeguarding of the mold, the automaton must be very reliable and never improperly position the prisoners, or be followed by a positioning control device which stops the press and gives the alert in the event of improper positioning of the prisoners.
Despite these precautions, it happens that the molds suffer damage, because the prisoners sometimes move during the closing of the mold if it is too fast. When changing the mold, in addition to adjusting the mold on the press, the functioning of the machine and its loader must be adjusted. It is often necessary to use special presses for molding parts with prisoners.
The difficulties of inserting prisoners before molding have led to widespread insertion after molding. The anchoring of a prisoner in the material remains incomparably superior to the press fitting after molding.
Sometimes the purpose of molding is to protect the prisoner; this is commonly called overmolding. It is a common practice for windings and electrical capacitors.
The object of the invention is to avoid the drawbacks encountered jus
that here in the automatic laying of prisoners in the molds.
The installation according to the invention is characterized in that the mold comprises at least one pusher intended to place at least one prisoner.
The prisoner pusher can also serve as an ejector from the molded part. One or more cylinders can ensure advancement
prisoners in a prisoner loader. A distributed wheel
triode can supply multiple prison chargers
deniers from a single diet. Finally, a distributor wheel
in the center of the mold can feed several impressions from a
single prisoner loader.
The accompanying drawings illustrate, by way of example, methods of
realization of the installation according to the present invention. They re
present simplified silhouettes of molds designed for presses
horizontal with central injection. The invention can also be applied to molds for vertical or injection presses in the joint plane.

In the first embodiment of the mold, that is in FIGS. 1 to 7, fig. 1 shows the two half-parts of the mold in the open position and at the start of a molding cycle. Mark 1 indicates a prisoner, mark 2 a prisoner charger, mark 3 a prisoner pusher, mark 4 a pusher holder, mark 5 the actuator rod for the pusher, mark 6 a thruster molded part, item 7 the ejection bar, item 8 the mold fixing plate on the press. Before the injection phase as shown in fig. 3, the pusher 3 drives a prisoner 1 and positions it in the mold cavity. At the end of the cycle, the mold opens again and the ejection bar 7 causes the ejector 6 to advance, which allows the molded part to be ejected. This phase of ejection of the molded parts is represented in FIGS. 5 to 7.
When, in the magazines 2, the gravity is insufficient to make the prisoners advance, it is necessary to add a advancement device.
The second embodiment of the mold represented by FIGS.
8 to 14 is similar to the previous one, but without the molded parts ejector. In fig. 8, the two half-parts of the mold are in the open position and at the start of a molding cycle. Mark 1 indicates a prisoner, mark 2 a prisoner charger, mark 3 a prisoner pusher, mark 4 a pusher holder, mark 5 the actuator rod for the pusher, mark 8 the sole of fixing the mold on the press, item 9 an axial counter pusher and mounted on a spring. Fig. 10 shows the position of these various parts after the closing phase of the mold. In fig. 12, the mold is shown during the injection phase. Finally, in fig. 13, we see how the molded parts are ejected. This ejection is ensured by the pusher 3 of prisoners 1 during a second race after the opening of the mold.
The third embodiment of the mold represented by FIGS.
15 to 19 is characterized in that the prisoner 1 is placed in the joint plane by a lateral pusher 3, after the mold has been closed. In this example, the pusher is moved by a jack, but it may as well be moved mechanically by a rack or a lever. For the rest, mark 1 indicates a prisoner, mark 2 a prisoner loader, mark 6 an ejector, mark 7 a ejector holder and mark 8 the mold fixing sole. Fig. 15 shows the mold at the start of a molding cycle, FIG. 17 during the injection phase and fig. 19 during the ejection phase of the molded parts.
The particularity of the fourth embodiment of the mold represented by FIGS. 20 to 29, in addition to the fact that it has only one imprint, is to be provided with a counter-pusher 9 in addition to the pusher 3 for holding the prisoner in place. Certainly, in the second embodiment of the mold, we have already mentioned a counterpusher 9 (fig. 8). However, the latter is axial and mounted on a spring, while the pusher 9 of FIG. 20 is lateral and hydraulic. It could as well be pneumatically or mechanically operated. In fig. 20, the jacks of the pusher 3 and of the counter pusher 9 are in the retracted position. In fig. 22, the counter pusher 9 is in the advanced position to go and grab the prisoner. In fig. 24, the pusher 3, actuated by a jack which is stronger than that of the counter pusher 9, has pushed the latter.
The prisoner is therefore clamped by a force equal to the difference in force of the two cylinders. In fig. 28 are shown the pusher 3 and the pusher 9 in the retracted position. The ejector is shown in 6. FIG. 29 shows the open mold, in the last phase of the molding cycle, the ejector 6 ejecting the molded part.
The progress of the prisoners in the magazines according to figs. 30 and 31 is provided by cylinders. The operation is as follows: starting from a conventional feeding bowl and transported pneumatically in a pipe 10, the prisoner 1 arrives in the charger 2. The propelling air is evacuated at 11. Then, the jack 12 pushes the column from prisoners to the setting push-button 3. Sensors ensure a sequential flow of the cycle of operations.
The progress of the prisoners in the magazines according to figs. 32 to 34 is provided by friction wheels 13. One or more motors 14 rotate the wheels 13.
As shown in fig. 35 to 44, the supply of prisoners of several imprints from a single feeding point can be obtained by a distribution wheel 15 with notches.
The latter is controlled by the motor 14 in continuous or discontinuous rotation. As a second solution, the distributing wheel 15 can be controlled by a ratchet wheel. As a third solution, the distributing wheel 15 can itself serve as a ratchet wheel, the latter being controlled either by a jack, or mechanically, by the device for sequential unwinding of the cycle of operations.
In fig. 40 to 44, the distributor wheel 15 is integrated into the mold.
The first phase of a molding cycle is the rotation of one revolution of the distributing wheel 15 by the motor 14 and the chain 16. So that the prisoners 1 coming from the loader 2 are placed more surely in the notches of the distributing wheel 15, it is preferable that the rotation is intermittent and is done by eighths of a turn. This movement can be obtained by a Maltese cross or more simply by a ratchet acting directly on the distributing wheel 15.
The second phase of a molding cycle is the closing of the mold, the counter-pushers 9 coming to grip the prisoners.
The third phase is the positioning of the prisoners in the imprints by the action of the pushers 3. FIG. 42 shows the change in position of the pusher holder 4 relative to its initial position in FIG. 40.
The fourth phase is the injection of the material to be molded through the nozzle 17.
The fifth phase is the hardening of the injected material either by cooling, if it is an injectable metal or a thermoplastic, or by heating, if it is a thermoset.
The sixth phase is the opening of the mold.
The seventh and final phase is the ejection of the molded part.
For this, the pushers 3 then serve as ejectors. In fig. 44, we see the pusher holder 4 in the parts ejection position.
