10. The device according to claim 1, characterized by means (26, 28) for limiting the pivoting movement of the actuating lever (2), starting from the lower limit position.
The invention relates to a device for locking window shutters and in particular blinds in the fully open position.
The previously common devices of this type are attached to the outside of the house wall next to the window opening and grip the lower edge of the exterior window shutter when it has been pivoted outwards parallel to the house wall. They are simple in design, but have the disadvantage that they are difficult to access, so that the operator has to lean far out of the window.
The object of the present invention is to find a device of the type mentioned which avoids this disadvantage and nevertheless has a simple construction, so that it is durable and reliable. To achieve this object, a device with the features of claim 1 is proposed, as well as advantageous embodiments with the features of the dependent claims.
Due to the features of claim 1, the exterior window shutter can be locked without the device having to be operated by hand when the shutter is pivoted with the lever mounted on it up to the holding part provided on the house wall. The actuation of the locking device for releasing the exterior window shutter only requires the free end of the lever protruding beyond the vertical inner edge of the shutter, which can be easily reached by the person operating it due to its arrangement.
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of an exemplary embodiment illustrated in the drawings. It shows:
1 shows a partial view of the inside of the frame of a window exterior shutter arranged on the left, seen from the inside of the house, in the region of the lower hinge, with the actuating part of the device,
2 is a vertical section perpendicular to the house wall through the device in the locking position,
Fig. 3 is a plan view of the holding part of the device, and
Fig. 4 is a view of the holding part of the device in the direction of the house wall.
In the example shown, the actuating lever 2 is attached with its pivot axis 4 to the angle band 6 of an angle band hinge 8. The hinge part 10 of the angled hinge 8 encloses a lower hinge block, not shown, fastened to the house wall, two of which are generally arranged one above the other for an exterior window shutter. The angle band 6 is fastened to the frame 16 of the window shutter 18 by means of screws, not shown, which are passed through the bore 12, 14.
The angle band 6 with the hinge part 20 having the hinge part 10 and also the actuating lever 2 can be made of flat iron with e.g. 3 and 4 mm thick, or they are punched out of metal plates of appropriate thickness. The vertical part of the angle hinge 6 is arched in the area of intersection with the hinge band 20 corresponding to the thickness of the hinge band, so that both bands on the surface of the window shutter 18 or
of the frame 16 lie flat. The connection between the angle band 6 and the hinge band 20 is made e.g. by spot welding.
The axis 4 of the actuating lever 2 is rigid as a short pin on the horizontal part of the angle band 6 e.g. attached by rivets, as can be seen from the illustration in FIG. 2. A head 22 of the bearing pin 4 secures the axial position of the bearing sleeve 24 which is fixedly connected to the actuating lever 2.
The pivoting range of the actuating lever 2 is limited by a short pin 26 rigidly attached to the rear of the lever, in that it is shown by dashed lines 28 when pivoting in a line 6 provided in the angle band 6
interpreted groove moves. In the position shown in FIG. 1, the actuating lever is in its lower limit position, so that the stop pin 26 rests on the lower end of the groove 28. In this position, the actuating lever 2 is held by the force of gravity acting on it, and pivoting upwards takes place either by hand by gripping its easily accessible outer end 30 or, as will be described in more detail, by sliding a hook-shaped extension 32 on lower end of the lever along an inclined outer guide surface 34 of the holding part 38 of the device fastened to the house wall 36. 1 shows a section parallel to the surface of the house wall 36 through the holding part 38 in the plane II-II (FIGS. 2 and 3). The shape of the hook part 32 molded onto the actuating lever 2 can be seen from the illustration in FIG. 2.
The shape of the hook ensures that the vertical hook part 40, which comes into engagement with the holding part 38, is at a sufficient distance from the surface of the window shutter 18 in order to be able to get into the incision 42 of the holding part 38. This cutout 42 is located at the end of the inclined outer guide surface 34 of the holding part, over which the edge 44 of the hook part slides, as is indicated by the broken line representation of the cross section of the hook part 32 in FIG. 3. In accordance with the progress of the movement of the hook part 32 via the guide surface 34, the actuating lever 2 pivots upward, since the hook part firmly connected to the actuating part 2 pivots about the bearing journal 4 of the lever during this movement.
After exceeding the end of the guide surface 34, the hook part 32 then falls into the cutout 42 and the holding part 38, so that the actuating lever 2 falls back into the position shown in FIG. 1. The hook part 32 of the actuating lever 2 is thus locked in the cutout 42, and the force of gravity acting on the lever 2 holds the hook part in this locking position. The exterior window shutter 18 is thus locked in its position parallel to the surface of the house wall 36 as shown in FIG. 2.
The end 46 of the holding part 38 facing the window exterior shutter 18 is preferably bent upwards, as shown in FIG. 2, so that the risk of being injured on the holding part protruding from the house wall 36 is reduced. In addition, this end 46 can serve as a stop part for limiting the pivoting movement of the exterior window shutter. However, this limitation of the pivoting movement can also be achieved by means of the head 22 of the journal 4, which comes to rest on the plate-shaped, vertically directed part 48 of the holding part. A damping element in the form of a plastic disc can be provided on this plate-shaped part 48 or the pin head 22.
For fastening the holding part 38 to the house wall 36, a screw bolt 50 is butt-welded to the rear of the plate-shaped part 48 and is held in a wall bore 54 by means of a dowel 52. A bore 56 can be provided in the plate-shaped part 48 for centering and simplifying the welding of the screw bolt 50.
