REVENDICATIONS

CLAIMS
1. Photovoltaic cell, characterized in that it consists of an anode in the form of a layer of pure selenium and of a brass cathode, separated by a layer of transparent varnish and current conductor.
2. A method of manufacturing the photovoltaic cell according to claim 1, characterized in that a transparent and current-conducting varnish is applied to a brass sheet.
3. Method according to claim 2, characterized in that after drying of this transparent and conductive varnish, it is covered - under pressure - with a layer of selenium.
The aim is to produce a PHOTOVOLTAIC cell with pure selenium with an atomic weight of 34, and a number of electrons of 79 from Group VI B, that is to say with a purity of 99.999%.
We know SILICON cells which have the defect of being fragile and brittle and not resistant to sudden temperature changes.
The aim of the present invention is to produce a cell which is reliable over time, non-fragile, having a good yield, a yield greater than PHOTOVOLTAIC cells - made of silicon or cadmium - which allows the production of cells of all dimensions, in particular, cells with an area greater than 36 cm2.
The known techniques using monocrystalline or polycrystalline materials are in fact not applicable to the production of round or circular cells, hence loss of the latter in yield: 11% while with a PHOTOVOLTAI cell
THAT the abovementioned selenium gives a yield greater than 20% (Aerospace report by the Engineer MERCIER from 03-08-1981).
The invention relates to a PHOTOVOLTMCH cell characterized in that it comprises an anode in the form of a layer of pure selenium situated under a contact varnish and a cathode made of brass sheet, the anode and the cathode being separated by a transparent varnish layer and current conductor.
The object of the invention is also a process for manufacturing the PHOTOVOLTAIC cell in accordance with claim 2.
In one method of implementing the method, after having applied a transparent and current conducting varnish to one side of the brass sheet (cathode) and having allowed this varnish to dry, said varnish is covered with a layer of selenium (anode ); a strong pressure is applied to this selenium layer so that it penetrates into the layer of dried varnish and that it mixes therewith; two metallic wires which will constitute the electrodes are applied to the external and internal faces of this solar cell.
The invention will be better understood on reading the following description, only by way of nonlimiting example with reference to the appended drawing in which:
a) - A brass sheet support (3) which serves as a cathode; this support must not exceed the thickness of 4 / love of mm.
b) - An intermediate layer (2) in conductive and transparent varnish between 5 microns and 150 microns.
c) - A surface layer (1) of selenium chosen according to the characteristics given at the beginning of the text and forming
Anode; this layer is mixed with varnish; this layer is exposed to the sun's rays.
In figure 1 we can see the connections with the Anode (4) and the Cathode (5).
In FIG. 2 in longitudinal section, the brass support (3) forming the cathode, the layer of conductive varnish (2), the selenium layer (1) forming the anode and the connections of the anode (4) and of the cathode. (5).
The PHOTOPILE which has just been described is a good energy result. It is easy to design, it can be round and still rectangular or square or of any other shape.
