Abstract
A spiral spring (1) made from flat material with an essentially narrowly rectangular cross-sectional area is joined edgewise and coaxially to a roller (6) by laser welding. In order not to impair the concentricity and flat running of a unit when joining the spiral spring (1) to the roller (6), and in order not to have to take any special positioning measures in the event of tolerance deviations in the position of the spring end to be welded, the spring arranged edgewise is welded on its narrow side to a support part (9) which projects from the roller (6) and overlaps the narrow side. <IMAGE>
