5. The device according to claim 1 for expansion joints in concrete pipes, characterized in that the U-profile iron and the rubber-elastic sealing strip have the shape of closed rings, while the clamping members are divided into ring segments.
6. The device according to claim 1, characterized in that the clamping members comprise flat iron (40) with screws (50) which penetrate both the flat iron and the edge (32) of the rubber-elastic sealing strip and also the flange of the U-shaped iron (Ul).
7. The device according to claim 1, characterized in that the clamping members in cross section are U-shaped, provided with clamping screws elements (60, 61) which press the edge (32) of the rubber-elastic sealing strip against the flange of the U-shaped iron (U2) .
The present invention relates to a joint sealing device for expansion joints in hydraulic structures, such as channels, locks, dams, tunnels and concrete pipes.
If such hydraulic structures exceed a certain length, expansion joints must be installed in the concrete. In a known joint sealing device, a strip provided with an appropriate profile, which is intended to seal the joint, is poured directly into the concrete. This has the disadvantage that it can never be replaced.
The invention has for its object to provide a joint sealing device that can be used if necessary.
The invention solves this problem with a device which is characterized by U-shaped bars anchored on both sides at the edge of the joint with an opening directed towards the accessible side and a flange delimiting the joint gap to which the edge of a rubber-elastic sealing strip is clamped in a sealing manner by means of a clamping member.
It is advantageous if the edge of the sealing strip on the hydraulically loaded side comprises a projecting tab which is not grasped by the clamping member and which, in operation, is pressed by the hydrostatic pressure against a wall part delimiting the joint gap.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject of the invention is shown applied to a concrete pipe. A similar joint sealing device that would look exactly the same on average can also be used in other hydraulic structures such as canals, locks, dams or tunnels. Since it is accessible from the outside both during assembly and later, an embodiment with two sealing devices arranged one behind the other would be feasible, for example, for dams or studs.
This would not only result in double security, but also an additional possibility of checking whether the internal seal is leaking or tight.
The drawing shows an expansion joint F between two concrete pipes B1 and B2. The wall of the joint is stepped so that there is enough space for the sealing device when the gap width F becomes smaller. U-profiles U1 and U2 are attached to the edge of the wider steps and anchored in the concrete. The two U-shaped bars have the same cross-sectional profile and are bent into closed tires, according to the diameter of the concrete pipes.
The left tire U is anchored in the concrete by means of welded-on loops 1, the right tire U2 by means of flat bars 2 spread at the end.
The seal forms a sealing strip 30 made of rubber-elastic material, for example neoprene. It comprises a central deformation part 31 which is provided with edges running approximately perpendicularly thereto. The edges include a mechanically clampable part 32 and a tab 33 pressed by the hydraulic pressure prevailing in the tube. Between the tab 33 and the deformation part 31, an articulated groove 34 is provided. This groove increases the flexibility of the sealing strip at this point and is intended to prevent the flap from being lifted off the wall when the joint gap becomes smaller. The side of the edge of the sealing strip which serves for sealing is provided with longitudinal grooves 35.
Different clamping members are shown on the left and right in the drawing. In practice, of course, one or the other version is used for both sides.
The gill members on the left-hand side comprise a ring 40 bent from flat iron and divided into at least two halves or into several segments. The ring 40, a flange of the U profile U1 and the edge part 32 of the sealing strip are provided with a row of holes distributed around the circumference provided which are penetrated by the shaft of the screws 50. The edge 32 is pressed in a sealing manner against the flange of the U-shaped iron by means of nuts 51. The tab 33 lies directly on the concrete.
This arrangement has the disadvantage that the sealing distance achieved by the mechanical pressure on the screws is only relatively short.
The clamping member shown in the right half of the drawing avoids this disadvantage. It consists of a U-profile that is bent in a ring and divided into segments 60. With the aid of the screws 61 screwed into one leg, the edge part 32 of the sealing strip is pressed against the outer leg of the U-shaped iron U2.
In the case of a straight joint, similar parts are used, which are then straight instead of circular. Then the U-profiles U1, U2, the terminal strips 40 or the U-shaped strips 60 and of course the gun-elastic stretching strip 30 are straight.
