The subject of the invention is a hydraulic reaction turbine comprising two wheels mounted back to back on a common shaft, a single valve circle allowing the simultaneous operation of the distributor of each of the wheels, a sheath valve making it possible to interrupt the supply. in water from one of the wheels, a discharge device mounted on the water supply line to the turbine, to avoid overpressures in the event of rapid closure of the distributors and a regulator controlling the latter by means of a first servomotor, mounted in conjunction with a second servomotor of the discharge device.
By Swiss Patent No. 78709, a device of this type is already known, in which the opening of the discharge device alone can cause the abrupt closure of the member for adjusting the flow rate of a turbine.
In order to combine the operation of the discharge device and the device for simultaneously operating the distributor of each of the wheels of a two-wheel turbine fitted with a sheath valve, making it possible to interrupt the water supply to one of the wheels, with the possibility of passing, under load, from two-wheel operation to one-wheel operation and vice versa by operating the sheath valve, the turbine according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a reduction member for the stroke of the piston of the first servomotor. required to close the valves, in the closed position of the sheath valve.
The attached drawing represents. schematically and by way of example. an embodiment of the turbine according to the invention.
The single figure in the drawing represents the turbine with its regulator and its discharge device.
The reaction turbine shown in the drawing comprises two wheels 1,2 mounted back to back on a common shaft 3. Each of the wheels 1, 2 of the turbine is in communication with a water supply line 4 through a separate distributor 5 , 6.
The opening and closing of the distributors 5, 6 are controlled by a common valve ring 7 actuated by a servomotor 8 controlled by a regulator 9. The regulator 9 is connected to a constant source of oil pressure 10 by a line 11 The servomotor 8 is also connected to the constant oil pressure source 10 by a line 12 through a diaphragm 13. It is controlled by the regulator 9 to which it is connected by a pilot line 14. A line 15 in bypass on line 12, after diaphragm 13, maintains the servomotor 16 of a valve 17 of the discharge device 18 under the same constant oil pressure as the servomotor 8.
It follows that in normal operation and for any load of the turbine corresponding to a determined opening of the distributors 5, 6, the valve 17 of the discharge device 18 is maintained in the closed position.
The actuation of the winnowing circle 7 by the piston 20 of the booster 8 according to the orders received from the regulator 9 is effected by means of a lever 21 articulated by one of its ends to a ball 24 for controlling the circle of winnowing 7 and by its other end to the rod 25 of the piston 20 of the booster 8. This lever 21 is supported on a pivot 22 secured to the sheath valve 19, movable from right to left of the drawing in a slot 23 of the lever 21 when 'the sheath valve 19 is opened to pass from the operation to a wheel, shown in the drawing, to the two-wheel operation 1, 2 of the turbine.
Thus, when the regulator 9 issues an order for rapid closure of the distributors 5, 6, in the closed position of the sheath valve 19, an oil transfer takes place between the servomotor 16 of the discharge device 18 and the servomotor 8 actuating the winnowing circle 7 and the opening stroke of the valve 17 of the discharge device 18 is proportional to that of the piston 20 of the servomotor 8 completing half the stroke of the winnowing circle 7 of which it controls the closing.
When the sheath valve 19 is open and the two turbine wheels 1,2 are supplied with water, the pivot 22 is located at the left end of the slot 23 of the lever 21. When the regulator 9 issues a closing order rapid distributor 5, 6, the piston 20 of the servomotor 8 completes a stroke equivalent to that of the valve circle 7. I1 results in a transfer of oil double the previous one, between the servomotor 16 of the discharge device 18 and the servomotor 8 actuating the winnowing circle 7 with, as a consequence, a total opening of the valve 17.
In the case where the two turbine wheels 1, 2 are of different dimensions, the booster 8 does not complete half of the travel of the winnowing circle 7 in the closed position of the sheath valve. In this case, the position and the length of the slot 23 of the lever 21 and the position of the pivot 22 on the sheath valve 19 should be modified as a function of these differences in dimensions of the turbine wheels 1, 2, so that the opening of the valve 17 of the discharge device 18, during a rapid closing of the distributors 5, 6, is proportional to the flow rate of each of the wheels 1, 2 and according to the opening value of the valve- scabbard 19.
