PATENTANSPRÜCHE
2250 .4200 Gcal/Jahr (6000 hx2,5 m3/h....6000 .6000 hx5 m3/h) x 0,95 Gcal/m3 trockenes Furnier.

PATENT CLAIMS
1. A method for drying workpieces made of organic material with hot circulation air, in which air is passed from a blower to a heat exchanger and from there across the workpieces in a drying room and the water vapor emitted by the material is absorbed by the air and a part of the Air-water vapor mixture is passed outside through an outlet opening equipped with a control flap, characterized in that the pressure in the drying room is measured and the amount of air escaping is regulated by means of the control flap so that a certain negative pressure is constantly present in the drying room.
2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the moisture content of the circulating air is determined with the aid of the pressure existing in the drying room and the moisture content of the circulating air is kept in the range from 250 to 400 g H2O per kg air by adjusting the regulating flap.
The present invention relates to a method for drying workpieces made of organic material with hot circulation air, in which air is passed from a blower to a heat exchanger and from there over the workpieces in a drying room and the water vapor emitted by the material is absorbed by the air and part of the air-water vapor mixture is led outside through an outlet opening equipped with a control flap.
When drying e.g. Currently, veneers with circulating air waste energy unnecessarily, because the drying process varies considerably (veneer quality, moisture, filling level of the drying machine, etc.), but the position of the control flap for the circulation air discharge is maintained so that the drying machine is maintained no gases produced during drying can escape into the workshop. The result is a situation in which the control flap is theoretically optimally set only for brief moments in consideration of the heat balance, while it is unnecessarily wide open most of the time and allows heat energy to escape from the drying process.
According to the above, the water content of the circulating air is currently in the range of 80 to 110 g of H2O per kg of dry air. 30 to 40% of the total energy consumption is used to heat the replacement air.
If the control flap were constantly in the theoretically optimal position during drying (whereby the need for replacement air would be minimized), the amount of thermal energy used to heat the replacement air could theoretically be reduced by almost the entire 30 to 40% mentioned. Since the heat energy consumption of the drying machine is 15 ... .28 X 103 Gcal / year, depending on its capacity, a careful calculation could save 15% per year, i.e.
2250 .4200 Gcal / year (6000 hx2.5 m3 / h .... 6000 .6000 hx5 m3 / h) x 0.95 Gcal / m3 dry veneer.
It was an object of the invention to reduce the energy consumption in the drying of workpieces made of organic material described above.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that the pressure is measured in the drying room and the amount of air escaping is regulated by means of the control flap so that there is a constant negative pressure in the drying room.
From hot circulating air with a certain water vapor content, thermal energy is transferred to the veneer to be dried much more effectively than anything else from dry circulating air.
Here, the veneer to be dried is warmed up quickly and the evaporation of excess water present in the veneer starts much earlier than in a dry atmosphere, and drying of the veneer is accelerated.
A favorable embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the moisture content of the circulation air is determined with the aid of the pressure existing in the drying room and the moisture content of the circulation air is kept in the range from 250 to 400 h of H2O per kg of air by adjusting the control flap. By keeping the moisture content of the circulating air within these limits, you get the best results when fuming drying.
The invention is explained below using an example with reference to the accompanying drawing, which shows in cross section a drying machine, the operation of which is based on the inventive method.
The drying machine 1 includes a circulation air blower 3, a heating element 4, nozzle boxes 5 and a vacuum chamber 9 in which the circulation air circulates. The machine also includes an outlet pipe 6 for the drying gases, with a control flap 7 for the gas outlet. The control flap 7 is adjusted by a drive device 8, which receives its pulse from a controller unit 11, which is connected to a pressure transmitter 10 in the vacuum chamber 9. Between the nozzle boxes 5 are the workpieces to be dried, e.g. Veneer sheets.
The blower 3 draws in circulation air from the space 9 and conveys it through the heating element 4 to the nozzle boxes 5. At the same time, part of the circulation air escapes through the outlet pipe 6. The outlet quantity can be regulated with the help of the control flap 7. This regulation acts directly on the negative pressure in room 9.
The negative pressure in the space 9 is detected by the pressure transmitter 10, and the position of the control flap 7 is regulated with the detected pressure value. The negative pressure is kept in room 9 at the border where the gases do not yet start to exit the workshop.
In the drying machine 1, the pressure transmitter 10 is used to track the internal negative pressure of the machine at the point where the replacement air flows into the machine from the workshop. This point is in the immediate vicinity of the runs for the workpieces 2 to be dried. If the pressure in question is measured and compared with the air pressure in the workshop outside the machine 1, the pressure difference between the external and internal pressure is obtained the machine, which is directly correlated with the amount of incoming substitute air.
If one regulates this differential pressure by changing the width of the air outlet channel 6 in such a way that the circulation air is only diluted to a certain degree by the amount of substitute air supplied, one can regulate the moisture content of the circulating air exactly and continuously with the help of the differential pressure.
In the method according to the invention, the amount of replacement air is minimized by adjusting the regulating pad so that the difference between the inside and outside pressure in the area of the replacement air inlet opening always remains small. The amount of substitute air flowing into the machine is directly correlated with the differential pressure. When water evaporates in the drying room, both the partial pressure of the water vapor and the gas pressure increase. Here, the differential pressure sensor senses the pressure rise, and the pressure sensor 10 controls the controller 11, which opens or closes the control flap 7 in such a way that the pressure difference at the replacement air inlet opening remains constant and the amount of incoming replacement air remains at the desired level and low.
