Description

The present invention relates to the production of prefabricated parts making it very easy to construct, from these basic parts, bridges and similar prostheses.

The bridge spans are, in the prior art, built in one piece with the false teeth, the ends being supported by pillars (pivot tooth or crown). Such achievements are delicate since it is necessary to directly build the assembly and, above all, they have the drawback that, when the bridge is laid, one can no longer intervene without destroying it, at least in part. When we are forced to destroy the bridge, most often we damage the supporting abutments and, moreover, this operation is traumatic and detrimental to the periodontal disease.

According to the present invention, the set of parts for making bridge spans is characterized in that it consists of a first part intended to be fixed laterally to another similar first part or to a crown and constituting a base. and a second part constituting the support of a false tooth and means for ensuring the removable fixing of the second part on the first.

Thanks to the invention, the prosthetist has at his disposal a set of parts which makes it very easy to build the desired prosthesis, the false teeth remaining removable so that they can be removed in the event that care must be given later, without having to dismantle the entire bridge.

The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to particular embodiments, given by way of example only and shown in the accompanying drawings.

fig. 1 is a vertical sectional view of a part according to the invention according to an embodiment intended to be used for molars, premolars or canines;

fig. 2 is a perspective view of a part according to the invention according to an embodiment adaptable for the incisors;

fig. 3 and 4 are, respectively, plan and elevation views of a plastic element intended to facilitate the use of the part of FIG. 2;

fig. 5 shows, in perspective, a bridge, the false teeth not being mounted.

In fig. 1, there is shown a part formed by a first part 1 which may have a horizontal section, either square or round, this part comprising, at its lower part, a groove 2 and constituting the base. Part 1 is provided with a hole 3 having a first diameter with a thread 4 and a second smaller diameter 5, also threaded. These holes make it easier to hold the base during installation on wax or stamped plastic screed.

In addition, during the casting of the infrastructure, the hole is filled with metal, which ensures a strengthening of the assembly.

The first part 1 is capped with a cap 6 whose horizontal section corresponds to that of part 1 and which laterally comprises a threaded sleeve 7, said sleeve being intended to receive a screw 8, one of the ends 11 of which has a slot allowing the grip of a tool, while the other end is provided with a finger 9 which penetrates into a corresponding blind hole 10 of part 1.

The false tooth is made of ceramic or resin on the cap 6 which thus forms the support for the false tooth.

In fig. 2, there is shown an alternative embodiment of the invention intended to be used for the incisors, molars or premolars.

In this embodiment, a bar 15 is provided on which the false tooth is constructed and a U-shaped element 16, which engages on the corresponding end of said bar, the latter comprising a thread for receiving a screw d assembly 17.

In fig. 3 and 4, there is shown a plastic element 20 which is destructible at the time of the casting of the bridge and which makes it possible to adjust the elements 15 and 16 so as to facilitate the work.

The elements 20 can have different sizes and dimensions corresponding to the incisors, molars and premolars.

The elements 20 consist of a crescent-shaped plastic body and comprising a housing 21 for receiving a bar 15 and a coaxial housing 22 corresponding to the U-shaped element 16.

In fig. 5, there is shown a bridge intended to be inserted between a canine and a molar. This bridge includes a crown 23 intended to cover a molar root and to be sealed thereon, this crown comprising a false tooth 24. In the root of the canine is sealed the pivot of a Richmond crown 25 supporting a false tooth 26.

Between the rings 25 and 23 extend an element 1 and an element 16 intended to receive the respective complementary members 6 and 15 on which the false teeth are built.

All the elements according to the invention are prefabricated and allow, by their assembly, to produce all the desired prostheses with considerable time savings.

When the bridge is in place, there is always the option of removing the false teeth by unscrewing the screws 8 or 17.

It is possible, in certain cases, to insert a small elastic thickness between the upper end of the element 1 and the cap 6 if an elastic mounting of the false tooth is desired. In this case, the blind hole 10 will be extended downward to allow a certain mobility of the cap 6.

To allow a certain mobility of the cap 6 also in the latter case, the screw 8 can retain an elastic engagement so that the patient can remove the support himself without the recourse of the practitioner.

Set of parts for making bridge spans, characterized in that it consists of a first part intended to be fixed laterally to another similar first part or to a crown and constituting the base and of a second part constituting the support of a false tooth and means for ensuring the removable fixing of the second part on the first. 2. Set of parts for making bridge spans, according to claim 1, characterized in that the base consists of a body having in the vicinity of its lower edge a groove, while the support is formed by a cap comprising a lateral conduit pierced with a tapped hole intended to receive a fixing screw. 2 3. Set of parts for making bridge spans, according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the base has a blind hole and the screw is terminated, at its corresponding end, by a finger intended to engage in the blind hole. 4. Set of parts for making bridge spans, according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the body has an axial hole opening at its lower end and having two different sections, each of these sections being tapped. 5. A set of parts for making bridge spans, according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the body has a rectangular horizontal section and the cap a corresponding section. 6. Set of parts for the realization of bridge spans, according to claim 1, characterized in that the base is constituted by a U-shaped part while the support is formed by a bar of rectangular section of which one end is intended to be inserted between the wings of the base. 7. Set of parts for producing bridge spans, according to claims 1 and 6, characterized in that the core of the base is pierced with a hole for the passage of a screw screwed into a tapped hole of the corresponding end of the bar. 8. Set of parts for the realization of bridge spans, according to claims 1, 6 and 7, characterized in that it comprises a set of positioning elements made of destructible material and consisting of a body affecting the shape of a crescent and comprising a housing intended to receive the base and the support.
