Description
The invention relates to a metallic multi-layer composite material with high electrical conductivity and high spring deflection limit, which is composed of at least two metallurgically connected layers, one of which consists of a highly conductive material that is solidified by non-cutting deformation and the other of a thermally curable material of high spring deflection limit. An advantageous method for producing such a multilayer composite material is also specified.
The further development and advancing miniaturization of electromechanical components and the demand for extreme durability require in many cases spring components which, in addition to high electrical conductivity, also have a high spring bending limit, which can even be affected by temperature, e.g. B. soldering process, should drop only slightly. Such switching or contact springs, which in switches, relays, plugs, sockets, slide valves u. The like. Are used in many embodiments, have so far mostly only in terms of a required property, ie. H. can achieve satisfactory results either in terms of high electrical conductivity or a high spring deflection limit. Since in the case of homogeneous metallic materials an increase in the spring bending limit is always associated with a decrease in the electrical conductivity, it has hitherto been necessary to optimize the desired properties in the selection of materials for current-carrying springs in such a way that highly conductive metals have been subjected to a metallurgical treatment, which resulted in the lowest possible conductivity reduction.
B. Kupfer, mit entsprechender Leitfähigkeitserniedrigung in folgender Weise ausgeführt werden: According to the known prior art, solidification of a highly conductive metal, e.g. B. copper, with appropriate conductivity reduction in the following manner:
a) durch mechanische Verfestigung als Folge einer plastischen, spanlosen Verformung, a) by mechanical strengthening as a result of plastic, non-cutting deformation,
b) durch Mischkristallhärtung mit Zusätzen, die nur eine geringe atomare Widerstandserhöhung bewirken, b) by solid solution hardening with additives which cause only a small increase in atomic resistance,
c) durch Ausscheidungshärtung. c) by precipitation hardening.
The slightest increase in resistance can be achieved by mechanical non-cutting deformation. However, only a slight increase in the spring bending limit is achieved for pure metals such as aluminum, copper, and silver, which is moreover even at a relatively low Operating temperatures due to the recrystallization temperature being exceeded and subsequent recrystallization processes being lost again.
Higher recrystallization temperatures and spring bending limits can be achieved by hardening mixed crystals, for example in copper, by adding silver, cadmium or iron. The spring bending limit increases with increasing alloy content, but the electrical conductivity of the metal often drops below the minimum values determined by the intended use.
% Beryllium in Kupfer. Die Federbiegegrenze dieser Legierung im optimal ausgehärteten Zustand liegt bei etwa 1200 N/mm2 bei einer elektrischen Leitfähigkeit von etwa 18 m/.Qmm2, Precipitation hardening is possible if the alloy atoms, for example beryllium, are only of limited solubility in the metallic base material such as copper. This method takes advantage of the fact that the separated particles increase the strength, but only contribute to the resistance of the material with their geometrical part of the total cross-section. Resistance-increasing foreign atoms are only dissolved in the lattice in a relatively low concentration. The best known material in this group is copper / beryllium with about 2% by weight beryllium in copper. The spring bending limit of this alloy in the optimally hardened state is around 1200 N / mm2 with an electrical conductivity of around 18 m / .Qmm2,
Ein Another known possibility for optimizing the properties of contact materials consists in the use of layered composite materials. In a known embodiment, for example, a copper strip is clad with steel on both sides, which results in a spring material with a relatively high spring bending limit and high conductivity. A

Such a layered composite material shows additive properties with regard to the spring bending limit and the electrical conductivity in accordance with the volume shares of the layers. The disadvantage of such layered composite materials is the very different recrystallization temperatures of the components involved, i. H. of the highly conductive material hardened by deformation and the materials with a high elastic limit, which can lead to difficulties, especially in the manufacture and processing of the material. For example, while stainless steel only completely recrystallizes above 1050 ° C, the melting point of the copper has almost been reached at this temperature and its recrystallization temperature has long been exceeded. This means that in the clad material z. B. already a relaxation annealing of the stainless steel causes the complete softening of the copper component.
The invention is based on the task of creating a hardenable, metallic multi-layer composite material with high electrical conductivity and spring deflection limit. The characteristic of the invention can be seen in the fact that the recrystallization temperature of the solidified, highly conductive layer is above the curing temperature of the thermally curable layer. Such a selection of the materials results in curing of the thermally curable layer without loss of strength in the electrically highly conductive layer. On this basis, a wide variety of metallic multi-layer composites can be produced, which combine high electrical conductivity with a high spring deflection limit. Accordingly, the material according to the invention expediently consists of a low-alloy, highly conductive component which is clad at least on one side with a hardenable material with a high spring deflection limit. In general, the multilayer composite is expediently built up from at least three metallic layers, one layer of the highly conductive material lying between two layers of materials with a high elastic limit. With this construction, the highly conductive, softer material lies in the low-stress, neutral zone and is therefore only stressed in the elastic range. For certain applications, a multi-layered (e.g. 10-layer) design, possibly using different, highly conductive materials and materials with a high spring deflection limit, may also be appropriate.
In a further embodiment of the invention, it appears expedient that the highly conductive material with an increased recrystallization temperature is a low-alloy copper alloy which has known additives for increasing the recrystallization temperature. These known additives can be silver, cadmium, zirconium and chromium or mixtures between these additives. Well-conductive materials with an increased recrystallization temperature are the low-alloy copper alloys (according to DIN 17 666) CuAg, CuCd, CuZr, CuCr, CuZrCr etc., whereby the alloys CuZr,
CuCr and CuZrCr are among the hardenable copper alloys. However, the achievable strength or spring bending limit of these materials is relatively low, so that the main advantage of using these alloys for a multi-layer composite material can be seen in the high recrystallization temperature required, which allows a combination with thermally curable materials with a particularly high spring bending limit, which in turn has a correspondingly high level Require curing temperature.
The hardenable materials with a high spring deflection limit can expediently be hardenable iron or non-ferrous metal alloys. Alloys of nickel with beryllium and copper with nickel and manganese NiBe2, CuNi20Mn20 can be used particularly advantageously for this purpose.
An expedient method for producing such a multi-layer composite material can be carried out in such a way that a highly conductive material in strips * or in plate form, at least on one side with a likewise strip-like or plate-like, curable material with a high spring deflection limit, is plated by pressure welding. B. an at least one-stage non-cutting deformation of the intermediate product is carried out to produce a contact spring. A multi-stage non-cutting deformation with corresponding intermediate annealing appears to be advantageous. The required thermal curing of the material or the materials with a high spring deflection limit is expediently carried out after the final deformation of the multilayer composite material and, if appropriate, after the production of the corresponding contact spring blanks or after the final shaping of the contact spring.
By applying the features of the invention, resilient contact elements are created which are produced from a multilayer composite material in a simple manufacturing process and which also have favorable properties with regard to the spring bending limit and the electrical conductivity.
Ausführungsbeispiel I Embodiment I
An 8 mm thick sheet of CuCr (DIN 17 666) was clad on both sides with 4 mm thick sheets of Ni-Be by press welding. After solution annealing at 1000 ° C, rolling operations followed with appropriate intermediate annealing, which were finally carried out up to a material thickness of the multilayer composite material of 0.2 mm. The final deformation was 80%. After curing (1 h at 500 ° C), the material had a spring bending limit of 1250 N / mm2 and a conductivity of 21 m / Umm2.
An 8 mm thick sheet of CuCrZr (DIN 17 666) was clad on both sides with 4 mm thick sheets of CuNi20Mn20, annealed at 750 ° C in a continuous furnace and rolled with appropriate intermediate annealing to a total material thickness of 0.2 mm. The final deformation was 80%. After curing (2 h, 400 ° C) the composite showed a spring bending limit of 1100 N / mm2 and an electrical conductivity of 27 m / fimm2. A longer curing time of 8 h at 400 ° C resulted in a spring bending limit of 1000 N / mm2, but a conductivity of 33 m / Ω2. In terms of conductivity, such a contact material almost reaches the values of the non-hardenable known layered composite material Monel / Cu / Monel, which, however, only has a spring bending limit of approximately 750 N / mm 2, while the spring bending limit of the material according to the invention is approximately 1100 N / mm 2.
In the drawing, a curved contact spring 1 is shown, which can be used for sockets, for example. The three-layer design shows two outer layers 2, 3 with a high elastic limit, between which an inner layer 4 with high electrical conductivity is embedded in the metallic composite.
