Abstract

The device comprises several static beam-divider elements (62, 64, 66, 68) receiving on their opposite faces the radiation from the separate beams of input laser radiation (70, 72, 74, 76) so as to combine them into several output beams (94, 96, 98, 100), each beam having superimposed colinear beam components of the original radiation. The device furthermore makes provision for a distribution of the power of the input beams over the combined output beams. The need to use movable, in particular rotating, optical devices which constitute a complex and inefficient mechanical element is thereby avoided. Use for the isotope enrichment of uranium. <IMAGE>
