Non-circular clock housing having a base (1), a works-holding ring (2) and a housing centre part (10). An edge (9) of the housing centre part (10) projecting inwards engages over the glass edge (8) which protrudes outwards and with the interposition of a seal (7) rests on a shoulder (6) of the works-holding ring (2). The housing centre part (10) is provided with inner holding grooves (16) and the works-holding ring (2) is provided with slots (11) having fastening grooves (15) which are directed outwards, into which slots and the holding grooves (16) of the housing centre part (10) there enters in each case a fastening element (14) passing through the slots (11). In order on the one hand to be able to produce a clock housing of this type more economically, without adversely affecting the waterproofness, and on the other hand to make the fastening screws accessible without removing any parts and, at the same time, to create the possibility of producing substantially flatter clock cases, the base (1) and the works-holding ring (2) form a single, non-circular carrier piece which is provided with recesses (12) for introducing a fastening element (14). The said recesses are constructed as slots which are open to the outer edge of the base (1), by means of which support shoulders (13) for the fastening elements (14) are formed. <IMAGE>
