Abstract

The coupling clamps (10, 12) are connected to each other by a telescopic beam (22, 24) and the device applies, between the elements of the beam, a control force tending to separate them. The device comprises a shaft (54) mounted rotationally on the internal element (24) of the beam, a crank (56) connected to one end of the shaft and receiving the control force exerted via a rail placed in the displacement path of the cablecar, at the exit from the station and a second crank (58) connected to the other end of the shaft and interacting with an adjustable stop (72) fastened to the external element (22) of the beam, in order to push it back. In order for the beam to constitute, under normal operation, a rigid link causing all the clamps to participate in the traction, the device also comprises a return spring (40) stressing the elements of the beam towards one another with a force which is greater than the maximum traction force exerted on one of the clamps during the linear travel of the cablecar. This device may be used for controlling the clamping of the coupling clamp of a cablecar to the overhead drive cable. <IMAGE>
