Abstract
An electrical servocontrol circuit for the positioning and advancing of the tool electrode in a machine for electrical-discharge (spark-erosion) machining comprises a motor (11) mechanically connected to the tool electrode (1) in order to bring it closer to or to move it away from the workpiece (2) to be machined in its direction of rotation. A secondary winding (12) of a supply transformer, in series with an adjustable resistor (13) and a diode (14), causes this motor to rotate in one direction with a specified force, and another secondary winding (15), in series with a second diode (16) and a current-amplitude modulator (19), causes this motor to rotate in the other direction with a variable force. An electronic arrangement (5-10, 18-28, 31, 32) modulates the control current delivered to the motor by the second winding as an inverse function of the value of the voltage points which occur at the instants of the electrical-discharge (spark-erosion) arc striking. Thus, the control of the motor depends no longer on the average value of the machining current which may vary substantially as a function of the machining rates and of the shape of the eroding pulses, but is based on the average value of the peak voltage of the eroding pulses. <IMAGE>
