Abstract

Compounds of the formula: <IMAGE> in which R<1> is an unsubstituted or substituted aryl group and n is 1 or 2, are prepared by hydrolysing corresponding 1-cyanoindanes and 1-cyano-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalines. The carboxylic acids and their salts have analgesic, antipyretic and antiinflammatory properties and can be used for corresponding therapeutic indications.
