Abstract

The flexible sunroof for a motor vehicle comprises a flexible hood (10) attached, on the one hand, to a rear cap (12) fixed to the rear edge of the rectangular opening in the roof and, on the other hand, to a front cap (13) sliding in this opening, from front to rear and vice versa, in a translational movement. A device makes it possible to impart the translational movement to this cap (13) and to flatten it against the front edge of the said opening at the end of the closing travel. The movements of translating and flattening the cap (13) are obtained from a single motor and a mechanism converting the rotational movement of the shaft of this motor into a movement for flattening the cap (13), at the end of the closing travel. <IMAGE>
